Ephesoft Transact has a great balance of simple and advanced ways to Automate the processing of digital and scanned documents.

The company is innovative and regularly updates their products. They have great support and a great set of support partners like Zia Consulting.

Some of the tools are available out of the box, like Machine Learning, Key/value extraction and document classification learning on a very small amount of templates. For more advanced users or processes scripts and modules can be developed to further expand Transact's features. Scripts and modules are written in java, the scripts are compiled on the fly and can be edited through the UI if needed.

The machine learning allows our operators to easily help train documents for classification and extraction. During the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, were were well positioned to adjust to remote working, and still assist other internal departments transition their processes to be remote friendly. What really impressed me about the product is it's no-nonsense packaging or licensing.

All modules / features of the product are available as part of the basic license itself and there's no hidden surprises which Ephesoft / partner will bring your way once you have made the initial investment.

Secondly since its a subscription based model, the customer has the liberty of starting small and then scaling the license up based on requirements / product success which makes the buying decision so much more faster.

The system can be learned by IT folks pretty easily to allow people to self-manage their installation and continue to grow the training set. There is a high level of complexity that can be unlocked the more you learn about the system and if you have access to Java programming resources. Intelligently thought through workflow enables the human exception handlers to be efficient. The system is slow, especially compared to some simplified online classification & extraction systems. There are a lot of "features" that Ephesoft's own professional services/support will tell you not to use. To properly optimize the solution takes a lot of hard earned knowledge. The updating process can be cumbersome. The system performs very poorly out of the box for highly complex documents (think legal contracts & bank statements) and complicated extractions. The most helpful features are OCR/ICR and the document ingestion points. It makes it very easy to get documents in to the system and with the recent enhancements allows for greater document processing efficiencies per department/document specific. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not that its the least useful but it can be tricky to use the Fuzzy DB search function. Sometimes you have to search multiple times before finding the correct vendor, etc. This could be improved upon in later iterations of Ephesoft software releases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I had been using Ephesoft Enterprise for several years, and Transact adds some great features like a more intuitive interface, the ability to download logs and batch folders without having to access the server, and more accurate extraction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

People who need to extract data, they can go for Ephesoft transact, by using this product we can extract structured and unstructured data from pages, by using column headers and Regex we can extract the data from any kind of line item table and we can verify the extracted data by using line item matching table.
