The company is innovative and regularly updates their products. They have great support and a great set of support partners like Zia Consulting. Some of the tools are available out of the box, like Machine Learning, Key/value extraction and document classification learning on a very small amount of templates. For more advanced users or processes scripts and modules can be developed to further expand Transact's features. Scripts and modules are written in java, the scripts are compiled on the fly and can be edited through the UI if needed. The machine learning allows our operators to easily help train documents for classification and extraction. During the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, were were well positioned to adjust to remote working, and still assist other internal departments transition their processes to be remote friendly. **What do you dislike about Ephesoft?** Sometimes there are web UI inconsistency's, but the product is constantly improving. The Installer could use some help, but I've seen way worse! **What problems is Ephesoft solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have helped tons of internal departments move to a paperless process. Not just "paperless", but transforming the process in which documents "flow" Previously our department was titled "Document Scanning" because of Ephesoft, we were able to transition in function and title to "Document Solutions". Our work has transitioned from mainly scanning paper to business process evaluation of formerly paper processes. ### 2. My team found it to be fairly tedious of a task to do. Additionally, the forms are updated each year which requires us to update the calibration each year. **Recommendations to others considering Ephesoft:** Make sure your use case warrants using the tool. All modules / features of the product are available as part of the basic license itself and there's no hidden surprises which Ephesoft / partner will bring your way once you have made the initial investment. Secondly since its a subscription based model, the customer has the liberty of starting small and then scaling the license up based on requirements / product success which makes the buying decision so much more faster. The ease with which a 3rd party integration can be accomplished really makes the implementation so much more peaceful. There's no nightmares when it comes to getting the product to fit into your current software infra. **What do you dislike about Ephesoft?** Nothing really, the product is growing and really looking forward to upcoming releases **Recommendations to others considering Ephesoft:** When compared to other products available in the market we felt the ease of setting up Ephesoft Transact and the fact that they don't promise the moon and are straight forward in telling you what can be done and what's not currently possible with the tool yet can be accomplished by integrating with other tools makes them stand out. There is a high level of complexity that can be unlocked the more you learn about the system and if you have access to Java programming resources. Intelligently thought through workflow enables the human exception handlers to be efficient. The system performs really well out of the box with simple documents with low variability (think invoices, purchase orders, etc.). **What do you dislike about Ephesoft?** The system is slow, especially compared to some simplified online classification & extraction systems. There are a lot of "features" that Ephesoft's own professional services/support will tell you not to use. To properly optimize the solution takes a lot of hard earned knowledge. The updating process can be cumbersome. The system performs very poorly out of the box for highly complex documents (think legal contracts & bank statements) and complicated extractions. **Recommendations to others considering Ephesoft:** You'll need to have a fairly technical user who also understands your documents deeply to manage the system almost as a full time job. IF documents need to be added to the sample set the business takes screenshots, then we have to find the doc, import the doc, then add to sample set. **What problems is Ephesoft solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are extracting data from for our acquisitions and doing a data compare on those fields.
