As a digital creator, it is the best one-stop-shop I know for stock video, stock photos, graphic templates, fonts and so much more. I use Envato templates very regularly to design posters, instagram posts, emails, banners, downloadable booklets, to design book covers and so much more. **What do you dislike about Envato?** There really isn't anything in particular I dislike about Envato! I find it's very easy to use, and I also love that you can create so many different forms of media from their stock items and templates. **Recommendations to others considering Envato:** I highly recommend looking into all of the variations of design templates available. Often, I find a design template and I download it and customize it for my particular needs. Having a mock up already created, however, saves me hours and also helps inspire some creativity to make something a bit more customized. Also, another thing many people don't realize is there is also an envato tuts account included in your subscription that includes loads of really valuable information and trainings on various technologies and programs. A big time saver I use, however, say if I'm looking for a video template, is I filter my search results for premiere pro files if I know I have a shorter time line, that way it saves me from sifting through premiere or after effects templates. **What problems is Envato solving and how is that benefiting you?** ONe of the big, but simple, problems I am solving with Envato are getting stock images that will not get my clients in trouble. Envato allows you to have sull creative licence with all of their images, and it tracks your images downloads by saving them to specific projects. I have different projects and folders for each client, so if a client ever ran into any issues with an image license, I could easily go into my account and re-download a license for use for the particular image in a matter of minutes. Beyond this, the design templates save me hours and hours. I most commonly use indesign, photoshop, premiere pro, and aftereffects templates. ### 5. That's the good part. **What do you dislike about Envato?** Customer service is AWFUL, among the worst out there. I cannot stress this enough. Several poor experiences: 1) I bought several products from Envato that from the very start would not install. After several support requests to the developer that were not answered, I asked Envato for a refund. They would not give me one without the developer agreeing to it. The developer did not answer for a YEAR AND A HALF. Any diligent company would intervene, but Envato did not. 2) Credits that expire are a crumby way to take customer money and sit on it. 3) Remember the refund from #1 above? I want to apply that to my monthly Envato Elements subscription. No problem, right? WRONG. Envato does not allow you to use Envato credits on Envato products and services. Unlike stock image websites, Envato has graphics, website templates, and other more technical assets that give us a wider spectrum of tools for our business. I like that we can see complete details about the product specs and seller information. **What do you dislike about Envato?** The fees can be pricey. Also, I think they probably take a significant percentage of the sales amount from sellers. They are also limited when it comes to site templates for more obscure page builders. Since they're a marketplace and not direct sellers, there may be sellers that are hard to deal with compared to a central support staff. **What problems is Envato solving and how is that benefiting you?** Searching for assets is easy in Envato. I can get quality details right the search listings that allow me to filter my desired options quickly. I have also been able to view support information and resolve problems on my own more with the help forums and other resources. I raised tickets seeking help in Envato, the customer services personnel just responded to me: It is our internal policies, we cannot do anything and thus your case is now closed. It has been more than 7 days already my blocked Envato ID still has not been resolved and Envato customer services also do not take any pro-active action to assit, but merely respond that: Your case closed, you did not make any purchase. Then, i forwarded Envato my email confirmation of my June purchase. Still, same unhelpful response: "Unfortunately, like all companies, we have a number of internal policies in place which for business reasons, we do not divulge. After reviewing your application for service we are unfortunately unable to re-enable your account." How can i place my trust into a company with irresponsive customer service support!? **Recommendations to others considering Envato:** horrible after-sales customer service. From web templates to video to mockups and more, it has everything you need as a designer, marketer, or developer to hit the ground running. **What do you dislike about Envato?** While most of the items are of high quality (8/10), there is a lot of poor quality stock images and design templates on there, which can make searching for something that works more time consuming. **What problems is Envato solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a design agency, we need a vast variety of styles and stock sources for everything (video / audio / web etc) to develop client ideas quickly. Envato is far superior to storyblocks or shutterstock for this purpose. ### 17. Easy to use search engine. **What do you dislike about Envato?** I've been using envato for many years and have purchased over 30 items without issues but standards seem to be slipping fast. I purchased a wordpress plugin by the author 'welaunch'. The plugin did not work as described. In fact it was not even remotely close to how was described and would have required substantial rework. I therefore politely asked the ahtor for a refund in line with envato policy (reason: item not as described). The author refused a refund so I then had to dispute the author's decision using envato dispute policy. I would strongly advise anyone to not use welaunch plugins as they are the principle reason the refund process became neccessary and so complicated. Envato then sided with the author and would not grant the refund asking me to instead work with the plugin author to try and fix the issues. This 'fix' would have involved me giving access of my now 'live website' to the already abrupt and rude author so he could make CSS changes etc to my 'live' website. The refund process then became tedious with envato showing bias and weight towards the plugin author rather than acknowledging that the item bought grossly failed to meet the description. A simple refund became an uphill task which is not how envato describes in their refund policy and took me quite by surprise. After several demonstrations of how the purchases fitted the refund requirements by envato they finally credited my envato account with the $40 I was owed. I should point out that the correct thing to do here would have been a credit back to my card but I purchase regularly on envato anyway (or at least I used to) so it's not so big a deal. This was never about the refunded money but about the principle of the purchase (the item bought not being as described), the poor responses by the author and the subsequent complex refund process that seems weighted and biased towards the author rather having equity of consideration with the buyer. Please be aware of both the wordpress author 'welaunch' and envato's poor refund policy and process for a plugin (country selector) that should have never been approved for sale on their market in the first place in it's current format. Despite what envato say about thei approval checks for items on their marketplace, it is cler that some plugins get through the net and are for sale there which do not work as described. In future I will most likely not purchase similar plugins from envato but will sadly start using other sources for such plugins. Such has my confidence in envato marketplace been knocked. Simply wow. **Recommendations to others considering Envato:** They used to be very good. Standards are slipping. Do not expect envato to honour their refund policy. **What problems is Envato solving and how is that benefiting you?** In future I will most likely not purchase similar plugins from envato but will sadly start using other sources for such plugins. Relatively few assets of this type are obtained. Of course, its strength is in other categories, but vector resources is an aspect to improve. **What problems is Envato solving and how is that benefiting you?** As part of a Marketing team, with Envato we were able to solve many activities in the graphic, visual and audiovisual environment. Furthermore, the company has seemingly washed its hands of any oversight of sellers on its platform. As a result, you are at the mercy of your developer to continue updating what they provide. If they give you lousy service, you are on your own. I had an issue with the support on a theme that I purchased, so I gave the product 2 out of 5 stars for support. I received a nasty email back from the developer and saw that they deleted my review. I always felt it was strange that Envato hosted products seem every product comes with a 5-star rating system and no negative feedback for any of the offered products offered. Envato also doesn't seem to provide its own contact resource for conflict resolution as it did in the past.
