"Dassult ENOVIA as your Premier PLM system"

What do you like best about ENOVIA?

Very flexible to design your own PLM Process. You can start with own object and process layout, don't have to depend on Standard Engineering central component or any other central compnent if don't want to spend that extra price.

Integratation with SAP is absolutely painful and the connection to SAP dll is still using old technology and not updated with latest technology. Frequently times out while transfer huge data for large Bill of Material.

What do you like best about ENOVIA?

The global product development feature is really good in ENOVIA. With their aim of targeting Zero prototypes and zero BOM errors, I like the fact that they have considered global launches and ROI as their USP from other software. Importing and Exporting files is pretty easy in this software. Their PLM is also one of the best I've seen and worked with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ENOVIA?

What do you like best about ENOVIA?

- Easy to align Engineering basic practice with the product

- Revision - version concept is very helpful when looking for older data and study complaints

- Document model structure is one of the best features in managing documentation which supports lots of business cases

- Project management and visual representation of status makes it more user friendly

- User interface is very intuitive and more user friendly nature.

- Web based application which allows more users to connect with any available desktop PC

- FIle management in implementation for wold wide customers is part of the product and is very efficiently handled.

- Integration are mostly available for CAD Package and ERP interfaces.

What do you dislike about ENOVIA?

- All of the modules are not integrated appropriately

- It could be a one solution for customer, instead now its being pieces which requires customer to integrate

- too many ways to do same thing in the application, makes it hard to train users and get used to it.

- Review and approval process required to be revisited, as there are too many ways of doing things.

- Platform dependent and ended-up into performance issues when data set gets higer

Best product in market for PLM implementation...

What do you like best about ENOVIA?

DS Enovia V6 is a Excellent Collaboration tool which helps Designers and Engineer to Work Together in a single System providing them with the Real time information of the Data on which they are working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Customer's should focus on Improving there current Process and try implementing them in Enovia rather than implementing the current process as it is in Enovia. "Evolving ENOVIA SmarTeam implementation"

What do you like best about ENOVIA?

SmarTeam in and of itself far exceeds our previous homegrown attempt at PDM and our paper filled processes. We used to use Microsoft Access to track our engineering change orders and drawings / revisions for all of our engineering data. Using Solid Edge's revision manager to keep track of parts and assemblies and drawings resulted in having more than 40,000 duplicate files in various corners of our servers. The change order process was paper filled and we would lose on average 2-4 ECO's per month. Having moved to SmarTeam for our data management and electronic workflows we have drastically reduced the paper generated, we have never lost an ECO, I have been able to create automated metrics with very accurate times for each node of the process, and there is never a doubt that a file we are using is the correct revision. The single point of contact for data, workflows, and sign off is incredible and is now (nearing the 3 year mark) getting others to jump on the PDM bandwagon. What do you dislike about ENOVIA?

There can be significant issues if SmarTeam and the viewer and CATIA (we recently switched from Solid Edge to CATIA v5) are not all the same revision level. We are using SmarTeam 2011 right now and the viewer is from 2013 and CATIA is 2013. They work fine for the most part but they do occasionally clash. The viewer in particular causes a lot of grief - crashes often and is very slow. We are pushing to upgrade everything to the latest revision 2015 which should reduce the errors and issues. Recommendations to others considering ENOVIA:

Rely on the knowledge and expertise of Dassault VARS - Inceptra has been key to our success. Whether it has been answering panicked phone calls or asking questions before implementation that we never would have thought to ask - their knowledge, experience and support have played an enormous part of our success. Internally, you must include users from across the business that you expect to use it. Setting up the system to work for you or the design group does not help anyone else and only goes to making those users more likely to rebel and resist the implementation. Regularly soliciting feedback from "super users" and relying on those department super users to help train and problem solver is also very critical - share the load with a group. It helps to encourage buy in and it helps to get a better functioning product early on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ENOVIA solving and how is that benefiting you?

Reducing paper filled processes, electronic revision control and management, centralization of data repository, coordination and linking of data from multiple departments through the business, and more reliable sharing and linking of data between two business units separated by 15-20 miles using multi site installation.
