The central library is really helpful to at least establish a foundation to maintain a well-organized corporate library of PowerPoint slides. The authoring tools add functionality that Microsoft failed to implement for years already (and probably never will). After moving the whole solution into the cloud the administrative effort is really small and the performance is much better. Support is good and regular updates provide more features. More insight into the history of slides would be nice. It remains a challenge to convince users of the benefits (but this is most probably not a particular problem of empower). Everybody can (theoretically) help. There is now one single source of truth that everybody can utilize. This saves valuable time and is the foundation for the return on investment. The long startup time that you experience might be due to other infrastructure problems as our startup time is usually only 2-3 seconds longer compared to the usual startup time. However in the latest version 9.0 the startup time has been massively improved. Secondly, I can save a lot of time making presentations brand consistent. And last but not least, I can convert old presentations with a few clicks to adjust them to our latest templates. Recommendations to others considering empower: empower can be installed as on-premise or SaaS solution. However, they also support installations in the corporate cloud.
