"Allows procedures of onboarding to run smoothly"
4/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

The system allows the onboarding process to run smoothly and efficiently, making it easy to get started without confusion. The interface is intuitive and well-structured, which helps streamline each step and reduces the learning curve for new users. The only drawback was the inability to download or export documents. As someone who prefers reviewing hard copies, this feature would have been particularly useful; however, aside from this limitation, the overall experience with the system has been very positive. What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

The inability to download or export documents was the only drawback. As someone who prefers reviewing hard copies, this feature would have been valuable; however, aside from this limitation, the system is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Employment Hero?

What I like most about Employment Hero is its mission to make employment easier and more valuable for everyone. I appreciate how the platform combines HR, payroll, recruitment, and employee benefits into a single solution, helping businesses save time while improving the employee experience. I am also impressed by Employment Hero’s focus on innovation, technology, and creating positive workplace cultures, which aligns with my belief that engaged employees are key to business success. What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

As an external user, I don’t have any major dislikes about Employment Hero. If I had to identify an area for improvement, it would be that the platform’s broad range of features can sometimes create a learning curve for new users. However, this is a common challenge for comprehensive software solutions, and it is outweighed by the value of having HR, payroll, recruitment, and employee engagement tools in one platform. What do you like best about Employment Hero?

What I like best about Employment Hero is that it brings HR, leave management, performance reviews, and employee records into one easy-to-use platform. It saves time, keeps information organized, and makes it simple for both employees and managers to complete everyday tasks. The performance review process is particularly helpful and easy to manage Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

Overall, my experience has been positive. One area for improvement would be system speed at times, as some pages can take a little longer to load. It would also be helpful to have more customization options for reports and dashboards. Other than that, the platform is easy to use and meets our day-to-day needs. What do you like best about Employment Hero?

I really like using Employment Hero. I mainly use it to book and manage my annual leave, and I find it very easy and straightforward to use. The system makes holiday requests quick and hassle-free, and it’s useful being able to keep track of leave balances in one place. I also like the shoutout feature, which is a nice way to recognise colleagues and celebrate good work across the team Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

The only downside for me is that I mainly use it for booking holidays, so some of the other features can feel unnecessary and make the platform seem a bit cluttered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

Most often complain about technical issues such as login problems, timesheet or clock-in errors, and occasional bugs after updates. Others find the interface confusing for tasks like leave requests and payroll management, while payroll administrators sometimes report complexity, integration challenges, or the need to manually verify calculations. Customer support response times can also be a source of frustration when payroll issues are urgent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Genuinely streamlined our HR and payroll from day one"
5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

The all in one setup is the standout. Having HR, payroll, onboarding and employee self service sitting in the one platform means we’re not jumping between systems or duplicating data. Onboarding new staff is largely automated now, so new starters complete their own contracts, bank details and personal info before their first day, which has saved us hours. The employee self service portal is a big win too, the team can pull payslips, request leave and update their details without coming through admin every time. Payroll syncing has been reliable, the interface is clean and easy to navigate, and support have been responsive when we’ve needed them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

The reporting can feel a bit rigid, getting a custom report exactly how you want it sometimes takes more digging than it should. A few of the more advanced features sit behind higher tiers, so the pricing can climb as you scale. Occasional syncing delays between modules have popped up, though nothing major. The mobile app is handy but lags behind the desktop version on a couple of functions. Overall minor gripes against what it delivers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It’s easy to use, and having everything housed in one place makes HR processes much more efficient."

What do you like best about Employment Hero?

I’ve had a very positive experience using Employment Hero. One of the biggest strengths of the platform is how easy it is to use. The interface is intuitive, and having everything housed in one place makes managing HR processes much more efficient. From employee records and documentation to leave management and communications, it’s convenient to have a single platform that supports so many aspects of the employee experience.

The system is straightforward for both administrators and employees, which helps drive engagement and reduces the need for extensive training. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

If I were to suggest an area for improvement, it would be the Learning & Development offering. While the platform provides useful learning functionality, I’d like to see a broader range of courses available, particularly around mandatory workplace policies and compliance topics. Expanding this content library would help organisations deliver essential training more effectively and ensure employees have easy access to important policy-related learning. "A Great All-in-One Platform for Workplace Management"
5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

I like that Employment Hero brings many important workplace functions together in one easy-to-use platform. Having access to payslips, leave management, company announcements, employee recognition, and other HR features in one place makes daily tasks much simpler.

The platform is convenient, organised, and saves time by reducing the need to manage different systems. I also appreciate the employee appreciation features, as they help create a positive workplace culture by recognising people’s efforts and achievements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

While Employment Hero is a useful and convenient platform, there are still some areas that could be improved. At times, the user interface can feel a little overwhelming, especially with the number of features available. Some functions may require extra steps to find or navigate, and the mobile experience could be made more seamless.

It would also be helpful if there were more customisation options for notifications and dashboards so employees can focus on the information most relevant to them. Overall, the platform is effective, but improving simplicity and ease of navigation would make the experience even better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Employment Hero?

The Big Picture: It effectively eliminates the clunky, mundane admin work of paper timesheets and manual onboarding, turning your employment dashboard into a tool that actually supports your budget and schedule Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

Swag App Clutter

When Employment Hero transitioned its mobile experience into the Swag app, it tried to become an all-in-one super app by blending HR tools, a jobs board, and a shopping marketplace together. Many users find the interface feels cluttered and overly commercialized now, making it harder to just open the app, log your hours, and get out.

2. Notification Fatigue

The app can be incredibly loud. Users often complain about getting a barrage of push notifications and emails for things that don't require immediate attention—like marketplace deals, system updates, or non-urgent company announcements. Turning these off without accidentally silencing critical shift or roster updates can be a balancing act.

3. Occasional Sync & Clock-In Glitches

Because the platform relies heavily on real-time data, minor bugs can cause headaches on the floor:

Geofencing Issues: If your workplace uses location tracking for clocking in, the app can sometimes fail to recognize you are on-site if your phone's GPS lags. Loading Delays: During peak hours (like a major shift change when thousands of workers are logging in at once), the app can occasionally freeze or take a while to process a timesheet submission.
