"User-Friendly HR & Payroll Platform That Makes Onboarding Effortless"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

It's a user friendly interactive platform that is easy to train others to use. Hovering over many headings / comments gives a detailed explanation or overview of what that task can do.

We use both the HR and payroll platforms which makes onboarding employees effortless and using the EH work app allows employees to easily keep their details up to date and apply for leave without the need to be in the office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

Updates in payroll don't always flow into HR appropriately.

We have a great deal of custom rules within our payroll system which can be difficult to keep track of when there are detailed Award updates

Some of our employees have found the app can become glitchy if they don't log out regularly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All HR Info in One Place, but Feature Reliability Needs Work"
4/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

Keeping all HR and payroll docs in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

The constant changing of the platform. Things get moved around and you have to search for them and functions that work well are removed and then replaced with extra steps to get to where you want to be. A lot of convenient functions I constantly used have been replaced this way and it is very frustrating. I feel not enough testing is done (or clients consulted about how they use certain functions) before the changes are made.

Also, it has improved slightly lately, but I find calling support a chore as it takes so long to get through to someone. I lose a lot of time when I have to call for help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Has lots of potential"
4/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

What I like best about Employment Hero is having HR and payroll functions integrated into one platform. It provides a centralised place to manage employee information, onboarding, leave, compliance, payroll and employee records, which can significantly reduce administrative duplication. The employee self-service features are also useful and give employees greater access to their own information without having to rely on HR for every request. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

The biggest frustration is that some functions are not as intuitive or user-friendly as they could be. Navigating between different areas of the platform can sometimes be cumbersome, and certain processes require more steps than necessary. The distinction between the HR and payroll functions can also create confusion, particularly when managing employee profiles and information across both platforms. Greater flexibility, clearer navigation and more seamless integration between features would improve the overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It is the most versatile all in one platform, best part is the EH HR & Payroll integration"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

It is the best all in one platform - it has all emenets of the HR lifecycle from recruitment, compliance, policies, document issuance, digtal workflows, onboarding, the pay rates & awards inbuilt, ability to seek additional support from EH only i.e. outsourcing payroll to EH itself. So it not only is a software it gives services like HR advisory, ER/IR, payroll services anything and everything you can think about. It is a mini consultancy too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

The EH Payroll tool can benefit from some updates. Eg ability and capability have 2 employees on 2 rates, maximum flexibility rostering i.e. just like Deputy has. Ability to make notes, thorough broader view of rosters, etc. Flexibility with making changes to pay rules, i.e. pay rule builder. I.e. if we want to create a TOIL bucket for Annualised Salaries, the system should be able to do that. Intuituve, UI/UX could improve as well, in terms of Payroll side of things, and report generation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined HR & Payroll with Better Visibility, Compliance, and Self-Service"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

Employment Hero has significantly improved and streamlined many of our day-to-day HR and payroll processes, creating greater efficiency, visibility, and consistency across the business. It reduces the amount of manual administration required, minimises the risk of errors, and allows processes that were previously time-consuming to be completed far more efficiently.

From an operational and HR perspective, it assists greatly with maintaining compliance by ensuring accurate record keeping, employee documentation, leave management, payroll processing, and timesheet approvals are all managed within one centralised system. Having everything stored electronically also improves transparency, accountability, and accessibility for both managers and employees.

The system provides employees with direct access to important information such as payslips, leave balances, rosters, timesheets, policies, and employment documents, which encourages greater ownership and self-management. For managers, it allows improved oversight of staffing, attendance, approvals, reporting, and workforce trends across all sites.

Employment Hero also supports consistency in processes and expectations company-wide, ensuring that approvals, documentation, onboarding, disciplinary records, and compliance requirements are managed in a structured and professional manner.

Overall, the platform has helped modernise our systems, improve communication and workflow efficiency, support legislative compliance obligations, and reduce administrative burden across the business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

One area I dislike about Employment Hero is the limited level of customisation available around visibility and workflow management. Certain functions feel disconnected and cannot easily be viewed together, which can make processes more time-consuming than necessary. For example, it would be highly beneficial to have timesheets integrated with leave visibility so managers can view attendance and approved leave within the same screen, rather than needing to move between multiple sections of the system. This would improve efficiency, reduce the chance of oversight, and create a more streamlined user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best HR and Payroll platform we've used so far!"
5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

Employee engagement has been a real game changer for us, and it’s massively improved our culture. Bringing payroll in-house using Employment Hero’s payroll platform has also been great, especially since it links directly with the HR platform as well. The AI intelligence used across the platform is a huge help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

There are a couple of areas that maybe feel 'unfinished', such as the rota's and timesheets, however we feel confident that Employment Hero are always working towards improvements and our feedback is valued. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth Timesheets, But Upgrades Can Make Navigation Hard to Find"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

It’s helpful that employees can enter their timesheets themselves, and the overall process is relatively smooth when payday comes around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

Sometimes I don’t like that I have to really search to find information on how things work. You get used to it being a certain way and knowing where to find things, but then the system gets upgraded and everything changes. When that happens, it would be helpful to be given clear information about what changed and where to navigate to find what you need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Outstanding Support That Made Self-Implementation Feel Like the Right Choice"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

I just wanted to send a final note of thanks and appreciation for all your support.

Considering we've only been with Employment Hero just over a month, the time and service from you has been outstanding. You helped us start a new employee handbook, finalize our policies, and tighten up our contracts, which has been invaluable for future-proofing our business.1

I also spoke with Tom Brennan about some platform queries today, specifically regarding setting up our leave categories, and he was ever so helpful also.2

I was a bit worried at first as we did the self-implementation, and some parts felt uncertain, but once I got through to speak to you and Tom, I feel this was definitely the right choice.

Thanks again to you both for all your excellent service! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

The onboarding implementation being self implementation could have done with more hands on support then Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Zara Danton of Employment Hero

Hey Ricky,

A month in and already future-proofed with a new handbook, polished policies and tightened contracts... that's a really solid foundation and we're so glad we could be part of building it!

Tom and the HR advisory team are brilliant and it's lovely to see them called out by name. I shared it publicly with them earlier - moments like this genuinely make their day so thank you.

Your point on self-implementation support is well taken. There's a lot to navigate and we know some parts can feel uncertain without more hands-on guidance. It's something we're always looking to improve on.

So glad it feels like the right choice. Here's to what's next!

Best,

Zara @ Employment Hero

"Outdated Training Videos and Inconsistent Terminology Hold It Back"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

Easy to navigate and explore, I have not had the full opportunity to explore fully so it is difficult for me to answer fully Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

the terminology of the training video showing how to use seem to be different to what is on the desktop, it seems not all videos have been updated, the AI doesn't seem to work consistently and I feel the support access isn't practical if you have an urgent problem. However because I have not had a great deal of time to explore I am unable to fully comment Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Zara Danton of Employment Hero

Hey Tina,

Thank you for sharing this, especially knowing you're still getting to grips with everything as a solo HR manager - that context really matters.

On the training, we hear you. The platform moves fast and the supporting content can become outdated quickly, but that said, we are constantly working on updating our training videos, so we really appreciate you flagging!

So glad Cherry has been a bright spot through all of this, we'll make sure she knows :)

All the best,

Zara @ Employment Hero

"Flexible, Easy-to-Use HR Tool That Meets Our HR Needs"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Employment Hero?

Flexibility.

Functions that address HR needs.

Ease of use for both HR team and employees. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Employment Hero?

Support tickets sometimes take a long time to generate.

Go1 integrations can glitch. Support tickets take at least 24 hours to generate via EH queue. Then it takes ages (48 hours) before the actual Go1 integration problem is resolved.

Seek integration also does glitch. I've had a number of ads not go up. This tends to happen when I've made a typo or need to change the initial ad and the integration seems to glitch when trying to update the ad with the changes. I then need to call Seek to have the ad taken down and organise a refund.

The initial HR package also included legal advice. I'm not sure where we're at with that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
