I'd like the UX to better communicate to me what's left to do before my expense is ready to submit for reimbursement. Perhaps a summary checklist ... itemized expenses? uploaded receipt? linked expense to receipt? other company requirements (no older than 30 days, etc.)? A checklist like that does two things: 1) Prompts me to do things I've missed, 2) Gives me confidence that I've done "all the things" necessary to ensure I'll be reimbursed. In other words it keeps the flexibility while adding guidance, and it reduces the "did I do it all / do it right" anxiety that comes with putting choices / decisions in the user's hands. This user-anxiety is more pronounced in Certify/Emburse than most products by its nature; as a user, this product determines whether I get or loose money, which makes clarity of state very important. PS: Clarity of state AFTER submitting the expense is excellent. I get an email with an update for every layer of approval.
