There are a lot of flaws within the software that I hope will be resolved in the near future. **What problems is Electrum Wallet solving and how is that benefiting you?** Keeping private jets offline, proof checking Electrum Wallet transactions. The best lightweight wallet for your Bitcoin **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** David R. | Web Designer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2019 **What do you like best about Electrum Wallet?** Electrum is one of the first wallets created for Bitcoin some time ago, and since then it has been my favorite wallet because it has many options and is very lightweight due to the fact that it doesn't take up much space on my computer, unlike other wallets. The best thing for me about Electrum is: + It is not necessary to download the entire Bitcoin blockchain to function because it is synchronized with external servers maintained by the community that remotely contain the blockchain. + It implements the most current security options in a way that makes it almost impossible to be hacked and lose my Bitcoin. Seed, 2FA, MultiSign Wallet, offline transactions... + It is compatible with the latest version of Bitcoin Segwit and also supports Bitcoin Legacy. + There are fork applications that support other versions of Bitcoin created by the community, although their security may be questionable. **What do you dislike about Electrum Wallet?** Although Electrum is very simple and this could be a negative point for some, it is not the case for me. I believe that given the complexity of working with cryptocurrencies, it is important for wallets to be simple so that inexperienced users can use them without problems. **Recommendations to others considering Electrum Wallet:** I recommend Electrum if you are looking for a lightweight Bitcoin wallet that does not require you to download the entire blockchain. Electrum also offers additional security to keep your money safe and is also free. **What problems is Electrum Wallet solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was looking for a Bitcoin wallet that didn't require me to download the entire blockchain on my computer, as it can take days to download more than 100 GB of data, so I tried Electrum and in 5 minutes my wallet was up and running and I was able to receive my bitcoin. ### 3. Easy software wallet that can handle chain splits **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Harold T. | Partner / Chief Operations Officer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2019 **What do you like best about Electrum Wallet?** I like that the platform is fast and easy to setup, has integration with hardware wallets, has been around for a long time (since 2011). One of the best features of Electrum is that it does not download the entire Blockchain, making it very lightweight. It uses servers to collect the information and so saves lot of memory. It is end to end protected wallet which is encrypted, so there is no way for stealing your Bitcoins. The private key generated for encryption are used from the seed itself which is stored in the Desktop, which would save the data from being lost. As it does not download the information from Blockchain, it would be much faster to perform the transactions. As the passwords and other data is not stored on the server, it would be much secure as it would not be easy to steal the information from the desktop. Electrum is written in Python, which is much easier and shorter to review the coding and review the work. It can sign the transactions and verify the messages offline from where it can import and export the private keys. There are some other advanced features also available but where one needs to know the command language. **What do you dislike about Electrum Wallet?** UI could be improved, is a little too simplistic and does not have much guidance, tutorials, or tooltips. More geared for an advanced user. Electrum only supports BTC. **Recommendations to others considering Electrum Wallet:** Make sure you are technically competent and understand what you're doing. Don't lose your passwords! **What problems is Electrum Wallet solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are able to secure our BTC securely on the blockchain. ### 4. It has solid privacy features and it is really really secure. If you use hardware wallets, you can easily integrate Electron for added security with most of major hardware wallets. **What do you dislike about Electrum Wallet?** I wish it supported more coins, but, alas, it supports only Bitcoin. Also, it may be a bit hard for beginners to figure everything out about how to use it properly. And another couple of things that I really don't like about this wallet are its user interface and design. Seriously though, why does it look like it came straight from 90's? The interface is horrible in my opinion, it is just way too oldschool. I would not really call it user-friendly, and it does not look nice. **Recommendations to others considering Electrum Wallet:** If you are looking for a place to store your bitcoins safely, then definitely try Electrum Wallet. Whether you use hardware wallet or not, Electrum will be a good choice for preserving your assets. **What problems is Electrum Wallet solving and how is that benefiting you?** As a freelance Web Developer and Designer I work with different agencies, private organizations and other different clients all around the world, and some of them prefer making payments via Bitcoin. As a result I started using Electrum Wallet in order to process paychecks and store my Bitcoins there. Despite looking all goofy and weird and not being that user-friendly, it does a great job at protecting your digital assets. So, its functionality, privacy, reliability and stability are the main reasons people like me use it. When talking about protecting your digital money, visual aspects of design and interface do not matter as much as how it does its work at keeping your wallet safe. ### 5.
