Database exposed as a REST service! Seriously. Working with elasticsearch is so easy and fantastic experience. You get so many features out of the box - like full text search, document custom scoring, suggestions, results highlighting etc. And that's just tip of the iceberg. There's not much control over consistency of your data; if you want to see your data in some particular format - you might need to index it in a predefined way. Elasticsearch's query DSL is less normal and less adaptable than PostgresSQL's SQL. By default everything is indexed, which might create index overhead depending on your database schema. You would need to understand some terms, like tokenizers and analyzers in order to get to know how to properly query your data and how the data is stored in the index.
