"Kibana and big data"

What do you like best about Elastic Stack?

Kibana is a very interactive tool and it is a good alternative when using big data. Good alternative to Tableau. What do you like best about Elastic Stack?

It’s easy to start with. It’s tightly coupled with Elasticsearch and has lot of useful capabilities. Spaces are very helpful in testing new visualizations or changes. Json based objects are easy to export and import, reducing lot of time and any manual errors. Good/sufficient documentation. Very active forums. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elastic Stack?

Has some learning curve in order to use it to full potential. Has some restrictions when creating Scripted fields. For ex: a url type image can’t provide a link, discover table can’t have a custom header text. Can’t reverse axis on a line/bar chart. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

With proper sharding ES is capable of scaling to hundreds of machines that can aggregate and search hundreds of TB in a matter of seconds. Extremely fast, and extremely powerful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Elasticsearch can not be used as your primary persistent storage because Elasticsearch is not ACID compliant. Also the `update` operation is a little costly. Elasticsearch is not a real real-time. Elasticsearch is resource (space and memory) demanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Elastic Stack?

It ia full of visualization features (i.e., graphs, tables, pie charts ...). It gives you a low level access when plotting your figures. This way, you can aggregate and create your own customized chart easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Elastic Stack?

When you are using kibana, sometimes the overflow of search requests shutdown the plugin. Also, the document scheme discovery is not automatic and you need to set it up manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you are using elasticsearch to store your data and looking for an easy convenient dashboarding plugin, i advice you to check out Kibana. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Don't let the name fool you. It's not just for search. It does a lot more! Running analytical queries are blazing fast. Filtering, segmenting and classifying data is ultra-quick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
