Worst Program Ever Created **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Leigh T. | English Teacher, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2021 **What do you like best about Synergy Education Platform?** Contact log feature that automatically logs any messages I send to parents **What do you dislike about Synergy Education Platform?** Everything else. It’s absolutely terrible. Error messages everywhere, slow to load, horrible reports, a million clicks for everything. TERRIBLE. **Recommendations to others considering Synergy Education Platform:** DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PLATFORM!!!!!!!! **What problems is Synergy Education Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** NONE. Literally no benefits. It is cumbersome and horrendous and never, ever workds. Every single time you click (which is A LOT) the entire page reloads. It is absolutely infuriating and it makes me want to throw my laptop out of the window. ### 2. I like how different grading categories can be weighed differently. I also appreciate being able to record behavioral information in the moment that can be visible to other teachers for that day. **What do you dislike about Synergy Education Platform?** I find the interface to be cumbersome in general. For example, to record an assignment by a Standard, I can't apply a score for all students with ease; I need to type in a score for each student. It's very time-consuming. You can do this (apply a score for all students) only if there is no Standard attached to it. Beyond this, my major grumble is that the IEP/504 info. cannot be easily printed for all students in a class, grade, etc. I have spent HOURS copying and pasting this info into a separate document to print out and provide (by law) for substitute teachers. Why Synergy hasn't allowed for an easy way to print this info for all to review is baffling and a disservice to students with IEP/504 plans. Lastly, Synergy is a terrible experience for students and parents and interpreting scores in a Standards-based grading. **What problems is Synergy Education Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am not really solving a problem with Synergy Education Platform. I am required to use it. If someone could resolve the issues with Synergy, I would appreciate the platform a lot more. ### 3. I often used it 1 to 1 with assignments from Google Classroom, though it does not yet have an import feature. **What do you dislike about Synergy Education Platform?** It is not compatible with a lot of other school software and has downtime more often than once a week, especially at the start of the school day. It also has a lackluster discipline system. **What problems is Synergy Education Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Synergy has multiple programs within it that help keep up with a variety of accommodations like 504's and ESE plans as well as MTSS notifications. The information can be accessed easily via tutorials in the programs. ### 4. When using Synergy SE, the system takes more than 3 minutes to load any pages or perform any action, as well as teachers having to have a template handy to navigate what each drop down actually means. **What problems is Synergy Education Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?** Synergy gives us one place to handle day to day attendance and grades. It is also helpful with having one completee system for SE and regular classroom. ### 5. Hard to navigate, hard to use and buggy. Easy to make mistakes because of the AWFUL UX. **Recommendations to others considering Synergy Education Platform:** There are way better systems out there.
