What do you like best about Ecobot?

Ecobot is a definite time saver -- being able to record data to the cloud while in the field, then having it pre-filled on the USACE data form without having to re-record field notes in Excel, is helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ecobot?

Some things get repetitive-- it would be helpful to be able to "favorite" a plant, for example. Also, the PDF export feature does not italicize scientific names. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thanks for this suggestion. It would be useful to be able to “favorite” plants that come up frequently. In the meantime, if you’re encountering many of the same plants across a site, cloning your point can be a huge time-saver. Slide your finger from left to right over the point you’d like to clone to reveal the button. Select ‘clone’ to duplicate the point with updated location data. Then you can make the small tweaks necessary where the sample point differs, rather than having to enter the same data all over again!

We’re glad Ecobot has been so helpful! The NWI mapper and SoilWeb are external links from the NWI and NRCS that open in a web browser. It’s possible that your web browser is not allowing location services, preventing you from geolocating. What do you like best about Ecobot?

The app saves a lot of time while taking data points in the field. I like that you can easily access the indicator status of plants. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish the app would automatically fill out the hydric soil indicators. It is helpful that they have the descriptions of hydric soil indicators in the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Convenient and Easy to Use"

What do you like best about Ecobot?

I love how convenient Ecobot is to use in the field. Everything is together and there's no need to mess with paper datasheets. It's easy to collaborate with coworkers through the check-in/out system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ecobot?

If you don't have cell service the product is limited. It would be nice to be able to attach pictures to the sample points for easy reference when writing reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ecobot functions entirely offline, with only a handful of external supplementary links and the process of downloading a basemap from Esri’s servers requiring a data connection. You can collect all data without cell service, and even our reference guides are built in so that they’re always accessible in the field. Your data lives locally on your device until you regain service and can sync your project to the cloud. We’d be happy to set up a training to make sure all this is familiar before you head back into the field.

What do you like best about Ecobot?

Using Ecobot in the field has cut down the amount of time spent in the office tremendously. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ecobot?

There is no way to completely delete a form on the app. In addition, if you forget to check in a project before heading into the field there is no option to override it and access that project, you must create a new project and you can't combine them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thanks so much for the positive review—we’re thrilled that Ecobot has saved you so much time. Thanks also for your comments about the check-in/check out process. This process prevents users who may be without internet connection in the field from accidentally overwriting data. To date, out of over 60,000 recorded sampling points, not a single Ecobot customer has lost their data.

To delete a sampling point (form) using the mobile app, simply swipe from right to left on that point to reveal the ‘delete’ button.

What do you like best about Ecobot?

Ecobot streamlines the data-collecting process for us and reduces the need for any data entry in the office. We can create pdf's from the app to insert directly into our reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ecobot?

Currently the platform is only available for use with Apple products. Hopefully Android devices will be made available for use in the near future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Cost prohibitive for small jobs depending on the subscription, but valuable for projects with large amounts of data forms, saves so much office time on the back end Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
