Thanks so much for your review and feedback! We're glad you're able to collaborate more effectively by accessing data company-wide, and streamlining field work using built-in soil and veg resources.

Regarding stationary points vs. line features - polylines can be added in Ecobot Collector (the mobile app), and then exported as a shapefile from Ecobot Manager (the web dashboard). But sampling points are available as stationary points only. If you have any questions on creating polylines, please reach out to support@ecobot.com.

"An amazing field tool!"

What do you like best about Ecobot?

I love the ability to clone data points. This feature is so useful for large sites and saves so much time. I also love the descriptions for the different soil indicators within the app; this really helps jog my memory when in the field for some of the lesser-used indicators. Overall, the app is great and really helps streamline the datapoint process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ecobot?

I wish the app would detect which MLRA/ LRR you were in a while in the field. It would also be nice if the app told you which regional form to use based on location. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We hear you—an automated MLRA/LRR map and regional form selection using live location data is an excellent idea. In the meantime, we’ve built in high-quality MLRA/LRR and regional maps that are viewable even when you’re offline in the field. You can find them in the Sampling Point Information section, right under the live location data.

"Ecobot makes completing dataforms a breeze!"

What do you like best about Ecobot?

I love how easy it is to add information, and how many of the sections of the dataforms are autocalculated. There is no work back in the office to determine if you meet vegetation indicators which is really nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ecobot?

I've noticed that when filling in soil information there is no way to add data that is "GLEY" in the soil book. All the other pages are represented, but I have to add the GLEY pages manually back in the office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Faster, more accurate delineations"

What do you like best about Ecobot?

Ecobot has a user-friendly interface with tons of built-in helpful features, including the ability to search the National Wetland Plant List (NWPL) using both scientific and common names. You can read explanations of hydric soils indicators, which is very useful in novel or complicated areas. The app is easy to use in the field and can be edited from a desktop, which allows editing from home without needing to bring field equipment. The final PDFs always look very neat and clean. The Ecobot team is very responsive and takes client feedback into account when updating the app and its features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ecobot?

In our team's experience, we wish some of the app defaults were more useful. For instance, if a hydrophytic vegetation indicator or hydric soil indicator is met/checked, it would save a small amount if the app automatically marked those sections as "yes". It's a minor inconvenience rather than an app flaw. Downloaded PDFs can be challenging to edit due to format and font issues, but generally, edits are easy to make in the datasheets themselves. What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ecobot helps us speed up our delineations significantly. The built-in features allow us to quickly look up the indicator statuses of plants or to reference hydric soil indicators. Additionally, we spend far less time inputting field data after the fact because it is easy to complete all the fields at the moment. This app saves us time and helps us be more accurate and precise. I like that my data sheets are complete right after entering the data, and they are easy to edit in the office if needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We still don't have the right iPads for this app, and so the accuracy is only within 5 meters. Also, since I am an Android user, I can't use my phone as a back--up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Thanks for taking the time to review. As long as you have an iPad that can run iOS 13 or newer, you have the right hardware for Ecobot. All iOS devices use consumer-grade technology for any GPS positioning. Wi-Fi only iPads are the least accurate, but even the latest iPhone is below the standards expected by regulators. We recommend that customers use an external GNSS device paired with Ecobot to populate submeter accurate location data. Ecobot has partnered with Trimble, Juniper, Eos, and SXblue to ensure the accuracy of your work; we’d be happy to discuss further and walk you through the process of pairing with your device!

What do you like best about Ecobot?

What do you like best about Ecobot?

There are many neat features that this App boasts, but the two I find most helpful are the ability to clone data points and the summaries provided for each hydric soil indicator. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ecobot?

Deleting information within the App can be tedious. For example, if I clone a data point but need to edit or delete a soil layer, I have to delete each cell within that soil layer manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?

With Ecobot, we can more efficiently and effectively take data points in the field. Although it does take a bit more time to take a data point in the App, as opposed to writing it down in a field book, we end up saving h a lot of time on the back end.
