I'd like to see this platform expanded to other forms that are commonly used in consulting. Perennial flow determinations, SWPPPs, etc. **What do you dislike about Ecobot?** The Prevalence Index is automatically filled out even when it is not needed. Would like to be able to add all matrix and and redox features in one entry. **What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** Reducing in-office translation and transfer of data. Reduces mistakes and improves efficiency. ### 2. It helps to cut down on human error. I also use the library of scientic names for the vegetation. Overall, it speeds up the time to complete fieldwork **What do you dislike about Ecobot?** Although it is most helpful, the suggestions of scientific names while searching only works if you spell a name perfectly and include any hyphens. A "did you mean" section would be nice. **What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** The automatic calculations help cuts down on user error. Also any mistakes made on the forms are easily fixed at the office. Our speed and confidence has increased while using this product. ### 3. The computer interface is well-organized and easy to understand. **What do you dislike about Ecobot?** Not being able to search for species if unfamiliar with spelling or particular common names is frustrating. Not being able to search for things with hyphens unless you type the hyphen out is also a time-sink at times. **What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** Time spent typing up data sheets in the office. ### 4. Regarding stationary points vs. line features - polylines can be added in Ecobot Collector (the mobile app), and then exported as a shapefile from Ecobot Manager (the web dashboard). This feature is so useful for large sites and saves so much time. I also love the descriptions for the different soil indicators within the app; this really helps jog my memory when in the field for some of the lesser-used indicators. Overall, the app is great and really helps streamline the datapoint process. **What do you dislike about Ecobot?** I wish the app would detect which MLRA/ LRR you were in a while in the field. It would also be nice if the app told you which regional form to use based on location. **What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** Ecobot helps me ensure that I am being thorough with my data points in the field. While using the app, I am much less likely to overlook or forget about specific hydrology or soil indicators. **Official Response from Zoe Kovacs:** > We hear you—an automated MLRA/LRR map and regional form selection using live location data is an excellent idea. In the meantime, we’ve built in high-quality MLRA/LRR and regional maps that are viewable even when you’re offline in the field. It helps to fill in spots for each section of the wetland forms that may be hard to remember when in the field with just pen and paper. **What do you dislike about Ecobot?** I wish that the EcoBot was a bit better with auto-completing some sections of the form like in the vegetation database. I also believe that using the scroll wheel function can be frusturating for soils rather than just typing. **What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps with the issue of not having enough data forms in the field and also the issue of remembering information like plant names and landform areas/regions. It does what it does **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Environmental Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2022 **What do you like best about Ecobot?** I like that the wetland data sheets are virtual,I like that you can copy a previous sheets information to your current DP. I also like that you can do that for individual parts of the datasheet not just all of them. **What do you dislike about Ecobot?** I dislike that you have to create a "new" project for each person in the field. With other programs, you can open up the survey with just your account; no need to create a new project just to use it. Also, you cannot view other people's datapoints while out in the field because of this; each person has their own separate "project," and therefore, no immediate syncing can be done. The datapoints have to be downloaded from each person, instead of them all being in the cloud in one place. **Recommendations to others considering Ecobot:** I think it is what it is and it does what it does. It is not the only product out there that does things like this. That being said, some of the widgets it offers are really great, such as the copy from previous datasheet fuction. **What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is nice that it is paperless, and all the information is already saved on the ipad, and is easy to edit right there. Having all of the indicators right in the app is useful for quick references. **What do you dislike about Ecobot?** I dislike the project can only be assigned to one person. I know you can check projects in and out but it would be helpful if two of us could have it listed under our name. Or if we could more easily transfer projects from one person to another. **What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are making faster, more accurate determinations right in the field, saving us time in the office. Helpful tool for consolidating field data & saving time in the office **Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Environmental Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2022 **What do you like best about Ecobot?** Ecobot is a definite time saver -- being able to record data to the cloud while in the field, then having it pre-filled on the USACE data form without having to re-record field notes in Excel, is helpful. **What do you dislike about Ecobot?** Some things get repetitive-- it would be helpful to be able to "favorite" a plant, for example. Also, the PDF export feature does not italicize scientific names. **What problems is Ecobot solving and how is that benefiting you?** This solves having to transcribe hand-written notes from the field once we get back to the office, which saves time on reports. **Official Response from Zoe Kovacs:** > Thanks for this suggestion. It would be useful to be able to “favorite” plants that come up frequently. In the meantime, if you’re encountering many of the same plants across a site, cloning your point can be a huge time-saver. Slide your finger from left to right over the point you’d like to clone to reveal the button. Select ‘clone’ to duplicate the point with updated location data. Then you can make the small tweaks necessary where the sample point differs, rather than having to enter the same data all over again! ### 12.
