I really like Eclipse for the structure it provides to projects, making layers clear with different folders and configuration files. The console view is helpful for checking logs. One of my favorite aspects is Eclipse's plugin ecosystem, which fits my needs whether I want to connect to a database or use database tools, or do web development for Java applications. It also integrates well with other frameworks, and when using Spring Boot, it makes the architecture and configuration easier and offers a better project preview that's easy to manipulate. Since it’s strongest for Java, other languages can also be used in the Eclipse IDE through plugin extensions. What problems is Eclipse solving and how is that benefiting you? For larger Java-based projects, it’s a solid IDE to use. It feels fast, and the debugging experience is good. It really helps that it’s free. It also supports Maven and Gradle, includes version control via Git, and has a great UI. I used Eclipse for many years during my time in academia, but eventually switched to IntelliJ Ultimate, which I consider a more advanced IDE. The software felt very slow, and I found that many features were either missing or so difficult to set up that I couldn't figure out how to use them. I tried using it for some coding tasks, but overall, I didn't enjoy the experience. At that time, I preferred Visual Studio, although it didn't support all the programming languages I needed.
