Echo360 has been steadily improving their platform, devices, and offerings. This has lead to it being one of our primary media tools for the campus. Echo360 has gone through some hiccups with branding and roadmaps, making big (and ultimately positive) interface changes at inopportune times, or mentioning new features and tools to be launched with no real development timelines. This can make it a challenge to keep documentation up to date. Because Echo360 can do so many things, there are a lot of ways to accomplish the same task which can be confusing to convey to users. And the company has had several shifts in support/contact representatives in recent years which have caused minor issues with support times and getting timely information. It gets content to students who need it either for reviewing material, or for getting content the first time because they missed it or they're taking an entire online course. It makes it easy to use for students and for faculty. It's a single platform that does the content creation, content editing, streaming, and measuring analytics. The tool is easy to use and video can be uploaded easily. The assignment features offer ways for instructors to create peer sharing/ class sharing or individual views between instructor and teacher. The comments section is also great because the instructor and other peers can leave the participant (teacher) comments/suggestions about specific video instances. The instructor needs to create the code buttons that the participant will use to analyze their uploaded video. This can be troublesome if you are using the tool for reflective purposes and want the participant to create their own code buttons based on their goal/ feelings etc. Therefore I would not say the tool allows for much autonomy which is a huge downside for me. GoReact was invented by my mentor and his intention was to provide students feedback directly connected to what they were saying or doing when they said it. This is a great concept. I use it embedded in Canvas, and it's pretty unusable with rubrics. My students can't see the rubrics in advance and the window is so small, I can barely see it myself. If you want to respond to someone's video in real time, I recommend you check out Loom instead. I use it with my students way more often than I do GoReact. The only problem GoReact is really solving at this point, is it puts all the videos in one place and I don't have to download them. The ease with which projects can be created and configured is really useful for carrying out my activities without any inconvenience. Its interface has a quite simple and intuitive design that guarantees me quick navigation throughout the platform. The fact that it is easy to learn is a great advantage because that way I have no trouble explaining its use to my employees. Their customer service team is quite quick in responding to any problems and requests that may arise during the use of this application. The fact that it is cross-platform is a great help for me to use this application from my phone. When making edits to the material, the interface bugs and becomes quite slow, which makes it impossible to make modifications properly to the documents I have saved in the application, so it is preferable to ensure that there are no errors before sharing the information. A mobile app where they could record would be best as well. I also did not like the payment options. What I like best about TurningPoint is the ability to use PowerPoint slides to convert them into questions I pose to students in class. It's interactive and easy. There is additional licensing, at a cost, that is required to use TurningPoint Cloud if you want to view/export participant results. Years ago that was not the case. Negative change for sure from the user end!! You can use it without licensing to get aggregate results, but you are not able to export results or run any participant-based reports without either your Turning Account being licensed or every participant's Turning Account being licensed/registered. It is a great too, but has limitations that require paying for licensing if you wish to move beyond those limitations. How easy it is for a non-designer to make content look nice and consumable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Echo360? Usage by more than 1 person at a time isn't possible on the same content: we've had lots of work get lost if more than one author is in the tool at the same time, where work is getting overwritten and totally lost. This has happened two times and resulted in having to work entire weekends to re-do lost work. It is a real problem and will limit how extensively we use the tool. It also is something that Inkling Roadmap is unclear: uncertain where the tool is going and issues raised to the company don't seem to be considered for future enhancements. Support: The length of time it takes to get answers to questions / challenges is often unacceptable and not business friendly; also, who answers the question on the support team greatly impacts whether or not your question is actually answered. Too often -- I've had content from the user guide simply copied and pasted, and it doesn't have anything to do with what I'm asking. So realistically it can take a few business days to get an answer - which often is too late. There aren't any customer forums or helpful online information, which is frustrating. Escalation of issues is challenging to impossible: there is no next level of support beyond sending an email to the support team. Data tracking and usage data is limited: while you can embed video - which is a good user experience -- there is zero tracking on the videos -- which limits the usefulness of this tool. Updates: to get updates to existing templates, this is a paid-for service that requires an SOW. That means there are different versions floating around -- even withing our own organization. Licensing: we were unaware we would need to purchase "review" licenses for stakeholders to come in and review content before it is published. That's debatable -- we've asked for examples of how other customers are using Inkling and have yet to get any information. Similarly -- the question below isn't applicable. Inkling is not a CMS or ECM. I wouldn't look at this tool for that purpose.
