K. | Chair Elect - Watershed/Riparian Committee, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2021 **What do you like best about e-Campus?** Ecampus is pretty comprehensive and had the capability to do pretty much any school related task, assignment, essay, peer review, exam, test, etc that you need it to do for. eCampus is very good about keeping scores in a nice and clean spreadsheet for easy access either through the portal itself or also as a downloadable excel spreadsheet. I do like that there is a mobile app for easy access to courses and content. **What do you dislike about e-Campus?** Ecampus requires a lot of work on the side of the instructor. It has a steep learning curve that not only required you to be tech savvy, but the interface is not intuitive so you have to learn all the outs and ins on your own. The app is very hard to use and is not equal to or even close to the browser pc version. It is also very confusing that ecampus and blackboard are not always necessarily the same thing, so the integration is a bit confusing. **Recommendations to others considering e-Campus:** Make sure your school uses this program, otherwise there is no reason to use ecampus. Ecampus is very comparable to other forms of college level class management softwares out there on the market. If your university or college uses this software it is a good idea to do your research on how to use it effectively before you actually start using it or it will be a slow process getting started and getting everything figured out. **What problems is e-Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** It makes running a classroom and having virtual assignments fairly easy to administer. Homework due at certain times can make it easy to track student progress ### 2. As a student, you get quizzes, assignments, lecture slides, supplementary material, and exams administered under the same roof. Searching for the same through email would be a nightmare. For an instructor, it is excellent as it provides links to Zoom sessions and enables sending section-wide announcements. eCampus also supports proctoring online exams, making life easier for instructors and graders for the course. **What do you dislike about e-Campus?** eCampus has outages during peak usages, which leads to loss of vital information essential for the course. Keeping a backup might save the day, but outages in the past have severely disrupted the course flow. **Recommendations to others considering e-Campus:** Always have backups of your files at eCampus. Never hurts! eCampus has this issue with outages during which there is a chance of losing data, so have a backup. Otherwise, it is an excellent platform for learning. **What problems is e-Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** The courses which I have taken are published on eCampus. So I am using eCampus to navigate throughout the coursework, submit my assignments, and await announcements from the course instructor. The benefit of eCampus is the single platform is adequate for every aspect of the course. ### 3. You can also mass-communicate with students. Even link your class zoom and grammar softwares to it. **What do you dislike about e-Campus?** The UI doesn't look inviting, and it is just plain and simple. There are a few lags too while creating content. Also, other software like canvas does the same thing with straightforward steps and faster. They have too many maintenaince downtimes too, almost every week. **Recommendations to others considering e-Campus:** I would recommend instructors thinking of using e-campus for their class management to get to know the interface a few days in advance and familiarize themselves with it. Sometimes, it may take days to figure out tiny minor problems. They may also ask students to submit some trial assignments and make them familiar with the software. **What problems is e-Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have been an instructor, teaching assistant, and student on e-campus. It is a good solution for day-to-day class management. It is one of the best in the market for one-place class management. ### 4. It is super easy to learn to navigate, and the options available are also straightforward and mentioned in common language for everyone's understanding. It eliminates the need for formal training to use, which is the best thing about eCampus. **What do you dislike about e-Campus?** The thing which I have disliked about eCampus is its section where you are a grader for courses. All the past courses for which one has been a grader (in the past semesters) do not go away from the homepage. As this links are not of any use but it sticks in the homepage which is a feature I have not liked much. **Recommendations to others considering e-Campus:** Please always keep a backup of your work posted on eCampus as there have been incidents in my experience where due to outages, all previous work gets wiped out. **What problems is e-Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** On eCampus, I get acquainted with the course announcements, assignments deadline, course material, quiz keys, and many more contents related to the courses enrolled in the current semester. It also allows a common platform for assignment submission and discussion boards, hence serving as a big platter. As a grader for courses, I can enable quizzes, extend deadlines, grade submissions and send announcements to the entire cohort. ### 5. Quiet user friendly. Administration perspective: We were able to create report for each training and make sure each employee has completed the training. Easy to do tracking. **What do you dislike about e-Campus?** User perspective: they still allow the training created by flash player which is not accessible for each browser. It is hard to seek help when there is a problem. Administration perspective: we cannot include a help chat in the website. Audience, activities and users do not connect together, so if we will need to go back to the dashboard each time if we want to solve one problem. **What problems is e-Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** Create a platform for employees to complete their training. ### 9. In the past, it was difficult to organize everything I needed to share with my students for my courses, but this certainly makes things less complicated. I am also a fan of all of the features of this particular software, specifically the calendar. I also like being able to direct my students to anything they need for their education experience. This includes information about their current and future courses, curriculum information, as well as tuition information. **What do you dislike about e-Campus?** There are not many things that I dislike about this software. If I had to chose something, I suppose I would say that it is slightly outdated when compared to other applications in this category, such as Blackboard. Though these two applications perform different tasks for an educational institution, the software under review, in my opinion, is being spoken about less and less by students and faculty alike. **Recommendations to others considering e-Campus:** This is the application that educators should use if they would like everything they need for their courses in one easily accessible place. **What problems is e-Campus solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am making it easier for my students to find everything they are looking for in one place.
