Our field service management solution lets you coordinate and manage your entire service operation, including accounting, contracts, inventory, purchasing, sales, and service dispatch. ## e-automate Reviews ### 1. Rebranding software updates as new products to charge you more. **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022 **What do you like best about e-automate?** The on-premise version runs pretty reliably. It has most of the features needed to run a service industry business. We've been using Eautomate and ECI software for 15+ years. **What do you dislike about e-automate?** Rebranding software updates as new products to charge you more. ECI's business platform is to charge an exorbitant amount for software "updates" with very few updates happening. Our company has been using their system for 15+ years and have seen very few changes for the tens of thousands of dollars spent on annual update fees. They sell their software products in pieces with each add-on of the software having to be purchased and carrying its own annual update fee. When there is a major update to a piece of software that you've already purchased, and have been paying annual update fees for years, they will rebrand the updated version as a "new product" and make you pay for it all over again while increasing the annual update charges. Refer to E-info and E-info Enhanced, or Remote Tech and Mobile Tech. Those are both updated versions of an older product. Most software companies that are charging you monthly fees for updates will actually give you access to the newest version of the product you've been paying for. ECI does not. This is the case for their on-premise software. **What problems is e-automate solving and how is that benefiting you?** While a bit old and archaic in its look and feel, E-automate is a full-featured platform when you purchase everything. It allows you to have everything operating out of one system, at an expensive cost. ### 2. Overwhelming Software Lacking Intuitive Flow **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Business Supplies and Equipment | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2020 **What do you like best about e-automate?** The software is all encompassing and has a great deal to offer in terms of functionality. For a company with multiple departments, warehouses, and locations, this will work great. **What do you dislike about e-automate?** The software is involved to a fault, complicated, and confusing. There are dozens of steps for simple tasks. Though you will be sold by their salespeople that this is ideal for any size company, please consider it may not be ideal if you do not have multiple locations, warehouses, or people to pick up extra data entry work. This is ideal for larger companies with multiple departments and locations, that have multiple people handling various roles within those departments. The system is glitchy when entering data (this occurred not only while using alone, but with representatives from the company), and correct data entry is the crux of this system working correctly for reporting. The screens have multiple fields and you must know which ones need to be filled out for reporting to work accurately, however, all fields are visible with multiple tabs showing on screens. The sheer layout makes it challenging to learn the system. The system does not auto fill at times when it would be appropriate, and navigating between fields and screens is not seamless. Quite frankly, it is beyond frustrating. You cannot keep a screen up and navigate to another to check on a piece of information; you need to open a different session to do so. You can easily be locked out of the hosted version if you mis-enter your password twice, and it may take some time to get back up and running. **Recommendations to others considering e-automate:** I recommend receiving a proper demo and really considering the bulky qualities to this software and envision how that will impact your day-to-day operations. **What problems is e-automate solving and how is that benefiting you?** We realized we created more problems when signing on, and have realized little benefit. ### 3. Great software!
