## About DX
DX is the developer intelligence platform designed by leading researchers to help engineering organizations measure productivity and navigate the shift to AI-augmented engineering. The platform provides research-backed measurement by unifying quantitative data from SDLC tools with qualitative, developer-reported friction to offer a complete view of engineering performance. By serving hundreds of the world’s most iconic companies, including Dropbox, Pfizer, and Uber, DX provides the data and insights leaders need to lead with confidence in the AI era. Measuring productivity has long been an elusive challenge, but DX anchors insights in validated signals through the DX Core 4—measuring speed, effectiveness, quality, and impact—and the Developer Experience Index (DXI). These frameworks allow organizations to see how developers work and where they get stuck to reduce friction and boost satisfaction. By using tools like Workflow Analysis, Experience Sampling, and DevSat, DX captures the conditions developers need to deliver effectively, moving beyond "culture fluff" to connect developer friction directly to business impact. The platform offers extensive Engineering Productivity capabilities, including SDLC Analytics, TrueThroughput™, and Engineering Allocation to align engineering with business goals. Leaders can use Team Dashboards and Custom Reporting to find bottlenecks, while R&D Capitalization and Sprint Analytics provide precise evaluation of organizational performance. To understand how a company compares to the broader market, Industry Benchmarking allows for a precise evaluation of performance against specific peer companies and industry segments. To manage the transition to generative AI, DX provides a specialized AI Measurement framework. This allows leaders to track GenAI adoption and impact to guide smarter decisions at scale. Organizations use these insights for Strategic Planning, Vendor Evaluation, and AI Workflow Optimization, ensuring that AI investments result in tangible improvements to engineering velocity. Additionally, AI Enablement tools—including the Systems Catalog, Context Management, and the Internal Developer Portal—help unify context from across the SDLC to power an AI-native future. This suite also includes AI Readiness assessments, Agent Ops Tools, and Scorecards to ensure developer self-service is optimized for high output. DX AI serves as an AI Copilot for engineering leaders, acting as an analytical layer over the organization's data. Instead of static dashboards, DX AI continuously delivers insights and flags risks automatically. It helps leaders answer complex questions about their data, creates custom reports from simple prompts, and provides specific AI Recommendations on where leaders should focus next. Every insight in DX is designed to be actionable, leading toward a clearer question or a concrete next step. Through Executive Reporting and Targeted Studies, the platform provides CXOs and managers with the evidence needed to decide more effectively. By identifying measurement gaps and revealing what the data or developer voice shows, DX helps organizations optimize their engineering performance in an increasingly complex technical landscape.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about DX?**

the way you can visualize data and connect multiple sources

**What do you dislike about DX?**

AI generated queries often have columns that don't exist making them useless and hard to modify to actually work

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it's helping me understand where my team's gaps may be in terms of performance to a certain extent

**Official Response from Taylor Bruneaux:**

> We really appreciate the feedback! It’s great to hear that our data visualization and integrations are helping you identify team performance gaps. We also hear you on the AI-generated queries—we're working hard to sharpen those results and ensure they're accurate and easy to use right out of the gate. I've surfaced this note to our product team. Thanks for helping us improve!

 ### 2. Intuitive tool that helps us uncover bottlenecks and drive better decisions

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX makes it easy to dig into our processes and identify bottlenecks quickly. The ability to overlay team feedback with performance data gives us a clear picture of what’s really happening, which we couldn't do previously. I didn't expect it, but the Ask AI reporting has been especially valuable, allowing us to narrow down into exactly the data we care about without extra complexity or time of manually digging through data. The user interface is clean and intuitive, so adoption across the team has been smooth so far.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

So far we haven't had any issues or downsides that I would highlight.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps us surface bottlenecks in the development process, track overall engineering improvements, and pinpoint where we have room for improvement. It made team discussions more objective and data-driven. It’s also proven valuable for monitoring and tracking long-term, high-level improvements and compiling data for board or organization-wide reporting. Individual teams can drill down to optimize their own workflows, something our previous tool didn’t support as effectively and one of the primary reasons why we moved to DX.

 ### 3. Excellence

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nico M. | Group Engineering Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Ease of use, the constant changes and updates, and time to value. Within 24 hours, we already had value due to the speed of intake from the integrations setup.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Some of the out the box features is hard to customize, and the custom reporting isn't as feature rich as it can be. This doesn't take away value, but it slows down adoption.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting clarity in our developer experience and overall SDLC. Being able to drill down into every aspect and find opportunities to optimize and improve. It's also giving the engineers a voice which holds managers and exec accountable to listen and action the areas of concern raised.

 ### 4. Helpful for Spotting Systemic Friction and Team Trends

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2026

**What do you like best about DX?**

In my role, I’m trying to understand where friction is systemic versus local, and DX has been helpful for that. It’s not something I look at daily, but it’s useful when stepping back and looking at trends across teams, especially in areas like delivery flow and operational load.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

There is some upfront work to align on interpretation, and it’s not a replacement for deeper analysis. Used intentionally, it’s been a solid input into higher-level technical and operational conversations.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We’ve gotten value from the AI adoption tracker in particular. It’s helped clarify which teams are actually integrating AI into their workflows versus where it’s still more exploratory. That’s been useful for shaping platform direction and internal guidance without pushing everyone toward the same solution too early.

**Official Response from Taylor Bruneaux:**

> It’s great to hear that DX is helping you distinguish between systemic and local friction, especially through the AI adoption tracker. We understand there is some upfront work to align on interpretation, and our program managers are happy to help your team streamline that process for your technical and operational reviews. Thanks for your thoughtful review!

 ### 5. Empowering Insights and Anonymous Feedback Platform

**What do you like best about DX?**

I like the insights it provides and that it gives my direct reports a great platform to anonymously give their opinions.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I do find the UI hard to navigate at times. Specifically, how to find feedback from my direct reports.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us as engineering leaders find gaps and pain points within the org. Also, being able to compare to the rest of the industry is insightful.

 ### 6. Intuitive UI and Useful Team Data Aggregates—When the Input Data Is Strong

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lee W. | engineering manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about DX?**

useful aggregates of my teams data. ui is nice and intuitive

**What do you dislike about DX?**

data is aggregated only as good as the information provided. which is rarely good enough

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

its a good central place to check on my teams performance and blockers

**Official Response from Taylor Bruneaux:**

> We really appreciate the review! It’s great to hear that the intuitive UI and team data aggregates are helping you track performance and blockers in one central place. We also hear you on the data quality challenges and are focused on making it easier to ensure the inputs are strong enough to provide the value you need. I've surfaced your note to your customer team that can help focus on this with you.

 ### 7. Excellent tooling for managers and leaders to understand how their company delivers work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris W. | Senior Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

The survey tooling is powerful and easy to use. Survey Snapshots and Studies have allowed Lattice to gather valuable developer feedback over time, and they have allowed us to use that information to drive and measure changes to our devlepment workflows and tools.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Some of the Triage functionality could be improved to better align teams across the org and to better capture the issues that they flag as part of the Triage process.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps our business in a few ways. The primary way is by gathering data from our developers on a consistent cadence via Snapshots and Studies, which allow our leadership team to analyze and better understand the day-to-day challenges that developers face. We now have over two years of Snapshot data, which has been beneficial in tracking improvements that have been made through tooling changes and process updates, and the reporting features that we now have access to have helped inform our company roadmaps to maximize the benefits that our developers experience and to align our developer platform with the business goals of the company.

 ### 8. Clear, actionable insights into engineering health

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 01, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX makes it simple to capture meaningful insights from our teams without adding extra burden. The snapshots are lightweight but bring out valuable and comparable data, and the aggregated dashboards give leadership visibility while still allowing you to drill down into team specific issues. The DX team has also been excellent in supporting integration and adoption.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Because DX highlights so many actionable topics, the challenge becomes ensuring consistent follow-up. The tool gives you clarity, but it’s still up to the org to prioritize, integrate into workflows, and drive accountability. Stronger automation around action items would make this even more powerful.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX gives us a clear view of engineering health across teams. It helps surface friction points, highlight what’s working well, and turn that into actionable improvements we can track over time.

 ### 9. Excellent for Anonymous Team Feedback

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve C. | Senior Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Very good at getting feedback about the team's performance in an aggregated anonymous way

**What do you dislike about DX?**

It is very rigid in how many days it takes to do things. Like i would love a more lightweight frequent option and a longer term one where i can run it quarterly

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX provides information about the team's thoughts that they wouldn't necessarily air out to me

 ### 10. Excellent

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Quinn B. | Sr Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

We've found DX to be incredibly useful. They take a serious, evidence-backed approach to metrics. Their team is also super responsive to feedback.

One big differentiator is that it's easy to customize things and see where the numbers come from — for any of their built-in metrics, you can click "see SQL" and go to the query they're using to generate it. The competitors we evaluated were opaque and didn't have a way to figure out *exactly* where the numbers were coming from, which for me was a non-starter for such critical metrics.

They also have a lot of built-in dashboards and pre-populated metrics, most or all of which are well-designed.

Incredibly easy to implement: just hook it up to Github, JIRA etc.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

They did a big UI refactor recently and it's been a little painful to adjust to. My sense is that they're taking our feedback seriously though and making change to bring back some of the key things that we miss from the old UI.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Out of the box solution for metrics for engineering management: DORA metrics, developer satisfaction surveys, etc

 ### 11. Indispensable everyday tool for an engineering team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Our entire engineering org, especially Engineering Managers, use DX everyday.

The "Work log" report is a great way to visualize the individual day-to-day activities of all team members. Being able to click on each item and have it directly take you to a PR or ticket is convenient and efficient.

The "Breakdowns" report allows us to gain a holistic understanding of the impact of an IC or team. The ability to click into each metric to see the underlying PRs and tickets is a great feature.

The built in DX AI has been very useful to do ad hoc data investigations and easily gaining new insights. Secondarily, being able to take the queries written by the AI and turning it into a report is also time saver.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

The UI can be a little overwhelming with the amount of data and different reports it throws at you.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps us understand the impact each of our engineers and teams are making to the org. DX provides the consistent and transparent metrics that we can use to measure and communicate to all our teams. The data and reports DX provides makes sometimes difficult conversations much simpler, clear and consistent. It allows us to continuously set higher and higher goals for our organization.

 ### 12. Invaluable insight into our developer experience and engineering processes.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott L. | Chief Product Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

The unified dashboard that combines quantitative metrics with qualitative feedback has been a game changer for us. Having all our data in one place gives us a holistic view of the developer experience, allowing us to quickly spot trends, identify pain points, and truly understand what’s happening across the team. This clarity leads directly to actionable insights, so we can focus our efforts where they matter most—and then measure the impact of our changes and adjust as needed.

The integration into slack allows for a low friction experience for our development team which has led to extremely high response rates.

Initial implementation was fairly low effort/friction. Especially with slack and some elements of GitHub.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Our integrations still needs work. This is mostly an us-problem. Since we're not a standard SaaS company, many important metrics don't fall neatly into DORA or DX definitions, and we've just not taken the time to properly define what certain metrics mean to us and how we should best measure them in the context of DX.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I've always believed that when people enjoy their work, they produce their best work—a view that's been backed by years of research. DX is helps us understand where our developer experience falls short and guides us toward changes to improve our team’s happiness and engagement.

 ### 13. Essential tool for understanding and improving developer experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jevgeni D. | Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

For over two years, GetDX has been an invaluable platform for gathering insights directly from our engineering teams. It helps us deeply understand developer sentiment across everything that impacts their experience. A key strength is how it puts engineers in the driver’s seat – they highlight priorities and suggest solutions, which is crucial.

GetDX also lets us benchmark our results against similar companies, giving us a clear view of our standing in the industry. We've consistently seen over 90% response rates across all 8 quarterly surveys, achieved effortlessly because the platform handles reminders, sampling, and engagement automatically. Engineers clearly find value in sharing their perspectives.

The platform strikes a great balance: well-structured, predefined questions alongside the flexibility to add custom areas. This gives us both clarity and adaptability. We don't just use GetDX; we actively leverage it to drive and shape our engineering culture.

On top of that, the customer support team is fantastic – they proactively keep us updated, assist with custom requests, and help with integrations when needed. As well as the integration process was also smooth. GetDX supports all major sources we use at Pipedrive, including GitHub Copilot, GitHub Actions, and other systems. It also allows us to bring in custom data sources, making implementation straightforward and effective.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

One area for improvement is the need for more concise executive summaries and actionable insights per department or team. While GetDX provides a rich dataset, it can become challenging to process all the information, especially when overseeing a large organization. It would be incredibly helpful to have a feature that highlights key trends, surfaces emerging issues, and suggests actions to take. GetDX has already made progress in this direction by releasing an early version of executive summaries, and we’re excited to see how this will evolve further with the use of AI.

Another opportunity lies in strengthening the connection between team sentiment and system-level data. GetDX already does a great job of combining qualitative insights with hard data, pulling in metrics from CI/CD pipelines, resource allocation tools, and other engineering systems to enrich the picture of developer experience. However, what’s currently missing is a unified "team healthcard" that not only reflects how teams feel but also brings in contextualized operational data-like repository quality, service reliability, and similar. This would provide engineering leaders with a holistic, single-pane view into both the human and technical health of their teams. We understand this is on GetDX’s roadmap, and we’re looking forward to seeing this capability develop.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps us solve a fundamental challenge in engineering leadership: truly understanding how developers experience their day-to-day work and what’s getting in their way. Before DX, we relied on informal feedback loops and occasional surveys, which lacked structure, consistency, and actionable insights.

With GetDX, we now have a systematic way to capture developer sentiment across key dimensions like tooling, documentation, release processes, autonomy, and more. This enables us to spot friction points early, prioritize improvements based on team input, and track progress over time. It also helps us engage engineers more deeply, as they see their voices being heard and acted on.

In addition, DX provides benchmarking against similar companies, which helps us understand not just how we’re doing internally, but where we stand in the broader industry. This gives us confidence in where to focus and how to communicate progress to leadership.

Ultimately, DX enables us to drive cultural improvements, increase developer satisfaction, and create a more productive and empowered engineering organization.

 ### 14. Metrics and benchmarks I can actually use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Barry H. | VP, Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX is where I start my day. I can get a snapshot of what's in progress and see metrics across different teams. I no longer have to jump between tools. The surveys are specifically tailored for engineering teams with benchmarks against other companies. To be able to tie qualitative and quantitive metrics together in one UI is extremely useful. I also just want to call out how responsive the team and support are. It's been rare that we've had any issues, but the support team is top notch when we have. We also were part of one of their pilot programs and a suggestion I had in the morning was live in production before the end of the day.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I don't have anything specific that I dislike. I would love to see them move a bit into the forecasting space.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use DX to keep a pulse on the health of the engineering team with the quarterly surveys, but also answers our needs for metrics around cycle time, delivery, and throughput.

 ### 15. Great Tool for Tracking Team Feedback

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2026

**What do you like best about DX?**

a good tool to help to track all team members' feedback

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Many useful feedbacks can not be implemented in the company process. although discussion is extensive.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

tech architecture/process discussion, especailly compared with prior working experience

 ### 16. Making Developer Experience measurable - and meaningful—with DX

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthias K. | Team Lead Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

As an engineering team, we've found the DX platform to be a powerful enabler for both insight and improvement. It brings together quantitative data—like deployments, throughput, pipeline builds, and the quality of our deliverables—with qualitative input gathered directly from our engineers through regular surveys. This combination has proven invaluable. The survey feedback adds critical context to the raw numbers, helping us avoid misinterpretations and making our metrics more meaningful.

What really stands out for us is how interconnected the platform is. The drivers used in the surveys are directly linked to key indicators in the reports, which opens up entirely new ways of looking at areas like delivery efficiency, code quality, time spent, review processes, and even communication dynamics. It gives us a more complete picture of how we work—and how we can work better.

We also appreciate the scientific foundation behind DX. It doesn’t just show us what’s happening; it offers data-backed ideas and suggestions for improvement. Whether it's tackling workflow bottlenecks or addressing pain points in our processes, the platform gives us concrete direction.

Another highlight is the DX Data Studio. It allows us to build custom dashboards tailored to our needs by querying the rich dataset DX has already organized. With the help of the built-in AI assistant, we’re able to construct these queries and visualizations in minutes—no deep data expertise required.

And perhaps most importantly, DX helps us translate our improvements into real business value. Using benchmarks, internal data, and published research, it shows us the actual cost savings tied to initiatives we launch based on survey results. That’s a huge win when it comes to aligning engineering work with strategic goals.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

While DX has brought a lot of value to our engineering work, there are a few areas where we’ve noticed limitations. Our onboarding experience was very positive thanks to the direct support from the DX team, who helped us overcome early challenges and get the most out of the platform quickly. That level of support made a big difference, though we understand this may vary depending on the engagement model in other organizations.

We’ve also found that interpreting the data still requires a solid understanding of our internal context. The numbers DX provides are insightful, but they often need to be complemented by our own knowledge to lead to meaningful improvements.

One of the strengths of DX is its ability to collect qualitative input through surveys. In our department, participation has been consistently high, which has been key to maintaining quality insights. That said, we recognize that other teams might struggle with survey fatigue if the value of participation isn’t clearly demonstrated over time.

Finally, while DX provides helpful estimates around cost savings from improvements, we see these more as directional indicators than precise financial outcomes. They’re useful for sparking discussions, especially with stakeholders, but we approach them with a healthy level of skepticism.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps us solve several key business challenges. It gives us clear, data-driven visibility into how our engineering teams are working—something that was previously difficult to measure or relied too much on anecdotal input. By combining quantitative metrics with qualitative survey feedback, DX helps us understand not just what’s happening, but why, which leads to more informed and targeted improvements.

It also allows us to track the impact of changes over time, showing whether new processes or initiatives are actually improving performance. Importantly, it connects these improvements to estimated cost savings, helping us tie engineering work directly to business value.

Beyond that, DX helps us uncover inefficiencies in our workflows, like bottlenecks or wasted time, and gives us the insights we need to fix them. It also makes developer experience a measurable and strategic priority, which strengthens team engagement and productivity.

 ### 17. Rapidly evolving developer experience platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX can quickly give you valuable and actionable insights into your developer experience challenges. You can use both qualitative methods (such as surveys) and quantitative metrics (for example, DORA).

The benchmarks provided by DX are also highly valuable and very difficult to gather on your own. While you could run a survey yourself, the real challenge lies in interpreting the results. DX helps with that.

I like having the ability to explore the data myself and build custom reports. It gives me a good opportunity for some hands-on work as a manager.

I also appreciate that DX is rapidly evolving. We started working with DX more than a year ago, and the progress they have made since then has been huge. This gives me confidence that the platform will continue to improve and reassures me about long-term collaboration.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I don't have major points that I dislike, mostly areas for improvements.

For example, in some tools within DX (like Frontline), the focus can lean too much towards individual performance, such as the number of PRs each engineer merged last week.
Personally, I prefer to focus on team-level performance when using a tool like this.
I’d appreciate having the ability to customise the view to emphasise aggregate team performance.

That said, I don’t see this as a broader issue with DX. In fact, their strong focus on team performance was one of the main reasons we chose to work with them.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps us identify bottlenecks in our software delivery processes, address them and improve efficiency of an engineering org.

 ### 18. DX provides real actionable insights on developer experience and AI impact

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX provides me with actionable insights into how the Engineering organisation is performing, where friction points exist and if our developer experience improvement initiatives actually work. The AI impact reports cut through the hype and focus on what is really important The combination of qualitative / survey and quantitative data gives context. DX is easy to integrate and roll out. The DX team was there to support us every step along the way. I especially appreciate that the product and its leadership team are rooted in long-term research (e.g. DORA, Accelerate) and DX is created from Engineering Leaders for Engineering Leaders.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

As the product is evolving quickly, things have broken from time to time or we needed to clarify implementation detail on certain reports with customer support before being able to adopt. All issues were resolved quickly.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps us to improve our time to market for Engineering work by e.g. giving us insights into and tracking improvements on the Developer Experience, AI adoption / impact, operational topics (e.g. pipeline issues)

 ### 19. The best ally of your developer experience team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brenno C. | Principal Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

We were fortunate to adopt DX early on in the formation of our Developer Experience team. It quickly became a vital channel for ongoing communication with our engineering community, especially during our Continuous Delivery transformation. DX made it easy to collect meaningful insights and visualize progress, allowing teams to see the real impact of cultural and technical changes. The simplicity of implementation, combined with the depth of the data it provides, helped us identify areas for improvement and celebrate successes across the organisation.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

While DX offers valuable analysis and visualization tools, it’s not a silver bullet. To truly benefit from it, teams need to invest time in understanding the underlying feedback from engineers. In our organization, the teams that committed to interpreting the insights and acting on them saw strong results. However, not all teams were able to dedicate that time, which limited the potential impact in those cases.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As the Principal Engineer on the Developer Experience team, DX has been essential for helping us set the right priorities. It gives us a structured way to gather ideas, understand engineers' needs, and shape our roadmap based on real feedback. It also plays a key role in how we evaluate the impact of our internal tools and initiatives.

 ### 20. Great tool for modern engineering teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Filip . | Engineering manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX is really great at getting the full picture of your engineering department. The surveys (AKA snapshots) have an amazing impact on our teams, providing the chance for everyone to contribute to improving our engineering culture. Quantitative metrics are easy to plug in, and provide great insight about software development cycle inefficiencies. There are also metrics around incidents, which we very much like.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Some parts are not the easiest to integrate with some tooling (e.g. Jenkins)

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX is here to give us insight into the pulse of the engineering team. About the tooling and processes we have, and maybe even potential ones we didn't yet implement. We are also using it to see if the team is struggling on some part of the work. Today, it's very important to maintain a great engineering culture in our company, because that's the only way we can move forward in a good direction, and DX definitely helps us get there.

 ### 21. A true game changer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dimitris P. | Junior Developer, Research, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

A one-stop-shop approach to everything DX: from subjective metrics, high quality, currated questionnaires, to DORA metrics, attrition risk, or AI adoption reports, the platform covers every question that a Tech executive might have about their teams' performance. The dreaded "do we have a good engineering organization" question suddenly becomes possible to answer, and continuous improvement is just one triage session away!

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Not much to say. Lacking bitbucket integration was a bit of a bummer, but the value of integrating code repositories with DX meant that this was a good reason for us to expedite an already planned migration to Github.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assessing the performance of engineering department. Collecting feedback, setting focus areas for improvement, and measuring success, has always been a problem that we could not really solve efficiently until we adopted DX. Objective metrics and many insights on the same platform make the offering way more compelling and "sticky".

 ### 22. A great feedback tool that an engineering leader could have

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leon H. | Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Having our Gitlab/Github/Jira integrated with DX, it really surfaced a lot of our team's strengths and areas for improvements. As we perform quarterly surveys while emphasizing on transparency, team really is open to adopt the feedback process, which gives team areas of focus each quarter to make incremental improvements. It's really easy to integrate with the toolsets we have and DX team provides excellent white glove services.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Every team is different and they have different priorities to look at. The nature of DX having many features may not highlight each team's focus, so it takes a bit time for each time to customize their own UI interface to highlight their needs but DX team has been phenomenal in adapting to customer needs.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The quarterly feedback system is a huge benefit to my team. It creates transparency (and we do address the feedback) among the developers and gives them a place to be heard frequently.

 ### 23. Developer Voice Turned Into Engineering Impact, Thanks to DX

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cade G. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

I love that DX gives all our engineers a meaningful way to be heard. We mainly use DX for the snapshots and analyze that data provided in their dashboard. The survey is fairly quick and easy to complete, but the insights we get are anything but shallow. It prompts thoughtful, honest feedback that has sparked real, positive changes in our engineering org. For example, we have seen a significant increase in the quantity and quality of unit testing org wide. I also appreciate how we can track progress over time by comparing results quarter to quarter. The benchmarking against other companies is incredibly valuable to. It helps us understand where we stand and where we can grow, not just internally but across the industry. As a frontend engineer, I appreciate their commitment to a great user experience, modern user interface, and great product overall.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

There’s not much to dislike, but if I had to nitpick, I’d love to see more feature support for leaving feedback in different contexts. As companies grow, developer experience is shaped by more than just the immediate engineering team. It’s influenced by cross-functional work with product, design, and other engineering disciplines like frontend, backend, and platform. Without that context, feedback can feel a bit skewed and make it harder to pinpoint what’s truly working or needs improvement.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps us identify what’s helping or hurting our engineering teams, especially things that often go unnoticed in the day-to-day. It surfaces trends around collaboration, tools, processes, and team health, giving us a data-backed way to prioritize improvements. Instead of guessing what’s broken or waiting for burnout, we can be proactive about creating a better developer experience. That’s led to real improvements in engagement, retention, and productivity across our teams.

 ### 24. Thougtfully Designed and Extremely Powerful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paul S. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX does a great job of easily integrating all of our various data sources. It has a well-designed interface that lets you explore the data collected and an extremely powerful "Data Studio" that lets you interact with the data via SQL. The Slack integration is very well built and makes conducting studies seamless.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Best practices result in long feedback loops. This is intentionally designed and has good reasoning behind it, but it does seem to limit the pace at which you can measure changes you've made to address pain points. Studies can help between snapshots.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX gives us clearer insight into our engineer's software development lifecycle and helps us identify and address blockers or choke points in our process. In particular, DX does a wonderful job of making information gathering as painless as possible. Whether through automated ingestion of git and ticket system information or through measured snapshots and studies, DX has given us a myriad of tools for slicing and dicing our engineers' collective experience. The support, both during on-boarding and afterwards, has been phenomenal. They always seem to have a well-reasoned explanation for why they suggest doing things a certain way, which has been great when their recommendations run counter to our assumptions or plans.

 ### 25. DX helps us stay focused on engineering happiness which drives productivity.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert J. | Principal Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

After using DX (getdx.com) for 2-3 years to support our engineering team's productivity and happiness, I'd like to share our experience with the platform.

What We Love About DX
Developer Experience Focus
The platform's emphasis on making developers' lives better aligns perfectly with our team culture. It has given us actionable insights to enhance collaboration, reduce friction points, and ultimately keep our engineers happy and productive.

Team Health Monitoring
The platform's ability to track team health metrics has been crucial for identifying burnout risks before they become problems. The sentiment analysis features help us understand how developers feel about their work.

Data-Driven Improvements
Having quantifiable metrics has enabled us to make objective decisions about process improvements rather than relying solely on intuition. This has led to measurable gains in developer satisfaction and productivity.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

While DX has been overwhelmingly positive for our team culture, there are some natural challenges we've encountered:

Time Investment Required
Taking time away from development work for regular retrospectives and discussions can initially feel counterproductive. Engineers sometimes resist pausing "productive" work to discuss process improvements or address team challenges. However, we've found this investment ultimately pays dividends in the long run.

Change Management Friction
Implementing changes based on DX insights sometimes meets resistance, especially when addressing deeply ingrained habits or workflows. The platform highlights issues, but solving them still requires thoughtful change management and team buy-in.

Accountability Pressure
DX creates greater transparency and accountability for management, which is ultimately positive but can be uncomfortable. Leaders must respond to identified issues rather than ignoring them, which requires genuine commitment to improving developer experience over focusing solely on delivery timelines.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fragmented Developer Feedback Collection
Before DX, we struggled to collect comprehensive feedback from engineers about their work experience in a structured way. The 360 Snapshots provide a consistent framework for gathering insights across multiple dimensions of the developer experience.

Blind Spots in Team Sentiment
Previously, we only discovered team frustrations during exit interviews or when issues reached a breaking point. 360 Snapshots give us regular temperature checks that surface concerns before they become critical problems.

Lack of Data-Driven Culture Improvements
We often made culture and process changes based on anecdotal evidence or the loudest voices in the room. The quantifiable metrics from 360 Snapshots allow us to make more objective decisions.

 ### 26. Bring structure to Developer Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX does a solid job of turning scattered engineering signals (Git activity, CI performance, incident handling, etc.) into a coherent view that supports technical leadership discussions.

It is particularly useful for identifying bottlenecks in areas like PR review time or flaky pipelines. The UI is straightforward, onboarding is relatively quick, minimal friction to get value out of it.

Their customer team has also been responsive when we have hit integration questions.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Some of the insights feel generic without additional context, you still need someone with domain knowledge to interpret the data and act on it.

The default metrics assume a certain development workflow, so if you deviate from that, you may need to work around some of the abstractions.

Integration coverage is good for mainstream tools, but support for custom or self-hosted setups could be more flexible.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps surface friction points in our software delivery process that would otherwise remain anecdotal or invisible. Before using it, conversations around developer productivity or team health often relied on intuition or isolated complaints.

Now that we have a shared, data-informed baseline to track things like cycle time, review delays, or CI reliability, this is helping in prioritizing platform and tooling improvements.

 ### 27. Exceptional Engineering Analytics Platform - A Major Upgrade from Swarmia

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David F. | CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

After switching from Swarmia to DX earlier this year, I can confidently say this was one of our best tooling decisions. DX is head and shoulders above Swarmia in every aspect that matters - functionality, insights, and speed of development.

What's particularly impressive is their development velocity. In just the few months since we started using DX, they've rolled out numerous new features that directly address real-world engineering challenges. This isn't a stagnant tool - it's actively evolving based on user needs.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

There's nothing not to like with the product. The pricing could be more competitive but we think it still represents value for money.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform strikes an excellent balance between performance tracking and creating genuine channels for engineers to share their perspectives. Unlike other tools that can feel overly surveillance-focused, DX manages to provide valuable metrics while maintaining trust and transparency with development teams.

 ### 28. Actionable insights that spotted our engineering efficiency gaps.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

As a Developer Experience Manager, DX has become an essential part of our toolkit. It provides actionable insights into the health of our engineering workflows—cycle times, deploy frequency, review latency, and more—without resorting to invasive individual tracking. Its team-level analytics help us identify friction points, guide process improvements, and measure the impact of DevEx initiatives. The integration setup with GitHub, Jira, and Slack was seamless, and the dashboards are intuitive enough for both engineering leadership and ICs to derive value. Their focus on privacy and psychological safety also aligns well with our culture.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

While DX does a solid job out-of-the-box, deeper customization of metrics and more advanced filtering across squads or business units would make it even more powerful. Reporting exports and historical trend comparisons could be improved for quarterly planning and OKR tracking.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As the Manager for Developer Experience, DX helps us identify and address friction in our engineering workflows. It solves the challenge of measuring developer productivity without compromising privacy. We use it to track key metrics like cycle time, PR review latency, and deployment frequency across teams. This data allows us to make informed decisions, streamline engineering processes, and support teams with evidence-based improvements. It also helps leadership align DevEx goals with business outcomes, improving both delivery efficiency and team morale.

 ### 29. DX has transformed how we measure and optimize engineering productivity at Alan

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julien F. | Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX has transformed how we measure and optimize engineering productivity at Alan. We were using another tool before switching to DX, but the difference has been significant in terms of insights and actionability of the data.

The standout feature of DX is that its questions and metrics are inspired by industry-leading research, giving us confidence in the framework we're using to measure productivity. The tool excels at tracking improvements over time, allowing us to see our progress clearly. Perhaps most valuable is the benchmarking capability that lets us compare our performance with similar companies in the industry, providing crucial context for our metrics.

Another significant advantage is how DX connects qualitative feedback from engineering surveys to quantitative metrics from our development tooling. This correlation between how engineers feel and what the data shows has been invaluable for identifying areas where perception and reality might differ, or where technical issues are impacting team satisfaction & productivity.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

The product is still in the early days, so it's sometimes lacking a clear connection and cohesiveness between its different parts. This can make the overall experience feel somewhat fragmented rather than a fully integrated solution.

Some features or integrations seem somewhat incomplete. For example, the team management setup, the incident.io integration, and the snapshot triage flow all feel like they need further refinement to reach their full potential. These rough edges occasionally create friction in our workflow.

While the support team is responsive when we have issues, we sometimes lack visibility on the overall vision for the tool and where it's headed. This makes it challenging to align our long-term engineering measurement strategy with the product's roadmap, and sometimes leaves us wondering if particular pain points will be addressed in future updates.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We deployed DX across our entire engineering organization at Alan to measure team performance, identify process inefficiencies, and make data-driven decisions about where to focus our developer productivity efforts.

 ### 30. The best developer experience measurement tool on the market

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan K. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

We love DX, and we have both qualitative (via quarterly surveys) and quantitative (via GitHub data) metrics in the same tool. We sunset the tool we used historically to track code output in favor of a single, unified platform. The AI-generated queries are a huge time saver, and make it easy to create ad hoc reports to answer questions you have about your dev team. The surveys are a critical input into our platform roadmap, and the ability to customize them and add questions relevant to our tools is huge. In my almost 20 year career this is the best tool I've used to measure and improve the developer experience.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

My only feedback/challenge is that there are a lot of reports and sections, and there is a lot of overlap across the reports and some duplication. I'd like to see DX be more opinionated about what the best metrics are, and guide users towards high value metrics and what they mean.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gathering input from developers on what they need to improve development velocity, and getting quantitative data on developer output.

 ### 31. Improved Visibility into DevOps, Support, and Resource Allocation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francesco D. | Head of Technology Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

As a Platform Engineering and Tech Operations leader, this level of insight is critical. It helped us identify inefficiencies in our CI/CD pipeline, spot issues in dev environments early, and better understand how much engineering effort was being spent on support versus product work. The integration was smooth, and the dashboards are intuitive and useful for both strategic planning and day-to-day decision-making.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Some metrics could benefit from more context or correlation capabilities — for example, being able to drill down from high-level trends to specific root causes more easily. Also, while the dashboards are generally intuitive, a bit more flexibility in customizing views or integrating with internal BI tools would enhance usability for larger teams with diverse needs. That said, the team at DX has been responsive to feedback, which is appreciated.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX helps us understand where engineering time really goes.

 ### 32. Actionable insights to drive impact

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harshal S. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

We have been using DX for more than 2 years now.
DX is a platform where the entire engineering org and the developer enablement function in particular get both quantitative and qualitative insights on the overall ecosystem.
As a team responsible for developer productivity, my team and I use DX on almost a daily basis.
The most important usecase are the quarterly surveys which provide important qualitative data around developer sentiment across various drivers as well as CSAT scores for the tools we provide to the engineering org. Besides this, there are tools such as Data Studio which give a unified view by aggregating data from multiple systems such as github(builds, commit, review turn arounds), datadog (incident related data) and JIRA to derive further quantitative insights which help us validate the qualitative data from the surveys.
We also use tools such as Studies (on-demand, specific surveys), PlatformX to send surveys on specific events such as users encountering an error or users loading a specific documentation page etc.
The initial setup and integration with systems such as github, datadog, JIRA was very easy and has been very stable.
The support team has always been very helpful and feature requests have very low turn around time.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

What I'm listing here are not exactly the faults of the tool but things that I feel could be misused.
If DX is rolled out to an org without an exec sponsorship and some top down push, then the platform team rolling this out might not get enough traction, hence it is very important to ensure buy-in from the leadership.
Another possible anti-pattern that can happen is that some leaders could blindly chase specific numbers without applying the full organisational context which might trigger gaming of the system.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Compared to traditional surveys, we get very high response rates (95%+) and the benchmarking against similar sized companies helps us gauge which areas of work do we focus more towards.
Getting CSAT on internal tools helps us understand where to focus more.
DX helps us also gather various metrics at team/repository/service level around aspects such as change failure rates, deployment frequency, review turn around times, usage and adoption of AI tools etc.

 ### 33. Solid developer experience insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben S. | Senior Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

- The snapshot surveys are quick to complete and insightful. Before adopting DX, at best our developer survey engagement was at around 65% completion. After adopting DX, we had a 100% completion rate for the first time.

- The automated Slack DMs sent from our Director of Engineering to nudge developers to respond to the survey helped drive significant engagement.

- The snapshot survey results have been a great way to identify and quantify problem areas in our engineering organization. This gives us a tangible number to work with in order to measure improvements we're making, while also giving each team the capacity to start addressing issues within their own team (like "Deep Work").

- The DX Frontline integration with Slack is a handy way to see at a glance which of our PRs have gone stale or need review. It also gives me, as an Engineering Manager, a quick view of what my team has been working on for the past week.

- Our customer success partners on the DX team were extremely easy to work with, and getting the everything set up seemed to be a painless process for our IT department.

- As the manager for the Developer Experience team at my company, I make use of the DX platform multiple times a week to identify new initiatives for my team to focus on, along with long term goals to work towards.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I don't have much to complain about with the tool, but there are a couple of things that could be better.

- When triaging our team snapshot results, it would be helpful to have a notes field to provide context for our action items.

-The data studio is a very cool feature, but it doesn't always quite work the way we'd expect (given that it uses AI to generate queries based on plain English input) and the associated graphs don't always look the way we want them to. Understanding SQL is still beneficial when working with custom queries.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX has helped solve two main problems for us:
- We used to use Code Climate's "Velocity" tools, but the way they calculated their metrics always left information out which didn't give us an accurate picture.
- The other problem was the lack of engagement in our developer surveys. We used to use Google Forms to run a survey, but they took too much time for the developers to fill out and required a lot of time to triage the results and extract meaningful information. DX helped address both of these issues for us.

 ### 34. GetDX: From Subjective to Strategic

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wyatt E. | Senior Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Adopting GetDX has been a transformative step for our organization. It’s dramatically simplified how we report on and communicate developer productivity, which was once a recurring, challenging conversation steeped in subjectivity.

As a team that follows the advancement of industry research in this area, it’s reassuring to see the work of thought leaders like Nicole Forsgren, Jez Humble, and Margaret-Anne Storey directly inform the foundations and evolution of the DX platform. This credibility has been key in internal evangelization, enabling us to point internal stakeholders with a deeper interest to rigorous studies and comprehensive write-ups.

Importantly, as the platform continues to evolve, e.g. introduction of the Core 4, it hasn't necessitated major refactors to our integrations, allowing us to evolve with minimal overhead. Overall, DX has taken a large portion of the effort out of how we measure, communicate, and ultimately improve developer experience, and pushes us be more strategic and less reactive.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Snapshot Triage flow is not particularly useful. EMs find it confusing and the Studies feature suffices for followups. Team management could be more intuitive.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GetDX has solved the challenges of accurately measuring developer productivity, surfacing experience insights, and communicating engineering health across our organization. By combining system data with developer feedback, integrating fragmented tools, aligning with evolving research, and offering peer benchmarking, it has provided us with a unified, actionable view that is driving real improvements in productivity and engineering satisfaction.

 ### 35. Crucial for understanding Developer Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iaron d. | Technical Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

I love DX and I can't imagine working with Developer Experience without it anymore. The surveys solution is extremely useful as it makes sure the voice of every engineer is heard, helping us understand what are the biggest pain points and opportunities we have. Adding to that, the Reports solutions help us get quantitative metrics tied to the developer experience, which is an efficient way of us seeing the needle moving as we solve the pain points. With this, it is also easier to show how we impact the business by improving Developer Experience!

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I can't think of anything right now since the tram is also pretty quick in addressing any issue I find!

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX solves the problems of gathering and understanding Developer Experience, while tying it together with quantitative productivity metrics. This is essential to us so we can show that working on developer experience is good for the business

 ### 36. Insightful, actionable to enable data driven leadership

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 24, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX has a raft of data points that help engineers, managers and senior leaders understand what is enabling engineers to perform but also identifies blockers that are slowing them down. It’s insightful and provides actionable features to continuously improve your organisation. The DX surveys enable fast feedback, the dashboards provide an easy view into the data that can be drilled into and I found the GitHub activity also really useful for managers when supporting and coaching engineers and how to improve flow of work.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

It was a fairly lengthy onboarding process and to begin with the many features available we didn’t use as we spent a lot of time getting to know how to use the DX survey basics. There were challenges around the metrics data as well, however the DX team are extremely helpful and efficient and we were always able to contact them and get swift support - this was also the case with feature enhancements we thought beneficial.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We wanted a tool to enable us to improve developer experience, create viability of all the rich data we have across GitHub and other tooling to support us in identifying improvements we could make to flow. And we wanted data we could utilise to enable buy in from senior leaderships on improvements needed as well as data that demonstrated when improvements had been made for us to celebrate.

 ### 37. A new modern take into developer experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antoine D. | Engineering Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

When it comes to developer experience measurement and expertise, there is little companies like DX, they made sure they covered both to tooling and the expertise when it comes to assess devex.
There approach is a well balanced mix of opinionated structure with enough space for some of your company specificities.

Running the POC was an easy process and helped us to make sure of the value of their approach. We have been well supported, the survey snapshots are easy to set up and led to very high participation rates.

The quantitive products are easy to ger started on but can lead to a lot of iteration over the data ingress in order to get it fully running.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

The support in terms of tech or customer service is only on US timezone for now.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The DX platform provides the necessary insights on devex, solving our current problem of inefficient feedback and scaling. We run together a quarterly survey on the platform. The results are accessible any time on the platform itself to all of them.

 ### 38. Convenient metrics and developers' survey instrument in one

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aleksandra B. | Processes manager R&D, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Objective metrics and subjective (developers' survey) in one.
Intuitive interface.
Great customer care.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Not all metrics are available, but they constantly work on it.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Makes our developers happier through survey, which is followed by the feeling that you are heard and some positive changes.
Gives us better understanding of the pain points of developers before it strikes.
Allows us to use objective metrics to make smoother achieving musiness goals - better testing, less time to prod, etc.

 ### 39. The best data-driven way to create world-class engineering teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mina T. | Director Of Operations, Marketing and Advertising, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX helps us by offering both qualitative and quantitative ways to see the “whole picture” behind our engineering teams.

By following industry best practice we are able to measure just the right metrics to know where our teams need to improve.

Furthermore, our product teams are able to engage with the tool and run studies targeting different areas, groups, etc and get near-instant feedback from our developers.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Initially I found some data a bit difficult to find but after being enabled on Data Studio I found everything was pretty easy to learn about.

Folks not using Data Studio might have a bit of a challenging time finding exactly the user segments they want.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s giving me a dashboard into the developer pains across the organization which allows me to quantify those pains and prioritize different product efforts.

 ### 40. Evidence-Based Metrics, Great Defaults, and Responsive Support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2026

**What do you like best about DX?**

Evidence-based metrics, great default settings, and good support.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Team setups are not as seamless as they could be

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

An overview of current and historical team satisfaction and performance.

**Official Response from Taylor Bruneaux:**

> Appreciate the kind words, and glad the evidence-based approach is landing. That's core to how we think about measurement: defaults that reflect what the research actually shows, not just what's easy to instrument.
Thanks for the note on team setup too. Always helpful to hear where the experience could be smoother as we make improvements!

 ### 41. Communication is king

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas L. | Frontend Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about DX?**

I love that DX gives a structure way of examining our practices, successes, and failures and compare them across time. Self-reflection is a core value of mine, and having a tool that can help us implement long term reflection has been huge. I like how clean and easy to use the the surveys are and that I can leave comments anonymously so I don't have to worry about the politics of work to express my opinions and experiences.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

The post-survey review process is a little laborious. Navigating the UI to find comments on various subjects have occasionally proven challenging as some comments are put in different parts of the UI.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX provides a framework to review our engineering practices at a high level, provide feedback, and plan for change to improve how things work.

 ### 42. DX is a must have to understand how to be more efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank F. | Director of Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX provides a wealth of metrics, both qualitative and quantitative, that provide you a great way to measure developer productivity, experience, and efficiency from a number of angles. Operating a software company without these insights is like operating a website without metrics on how your customers are using your product. This tool has completely transformed the way that our platform teams talk about the value of our work and how we show that value that we provide.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I wish I had the ability to create just as elaborate dashboards as the ones that DX provides out of the box. We can get pretty close with Studio, but not as many options as they have themselves.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX allows us to better understand how our developers are working, the pain points they are experiencing, and how our platform investments are providing value to our customers. One of the most critical at the moment is measuring how we are becoming more efficient with AI coding assistant tools.

 ### 43. Great actionable qualitative and quantitative insight

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adrian S. | Director of Engineering Effectiveness, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

After attempting to run an in-house developer survey in 2023 at significant cost, time investment and questionable value finding DX seemed like a godsend. Through a pilot and four subsequent snapshot iterations that have gained >90% participation and led to valuable and actionable insight the tool has more than proven itself.

Particular points of differentiation and value to us:

The flexibility to define actual team structures that represent how people collaborate and also democratise the ongoing maintenance of them.

The integration into MS Teams with thoughtful nudges for participation and followup that really help drive participation and avoid survey fatigue.

A continuing pace of product development that generally delights us with new capabilities and features.

The research-backed nature of the tool and focus on providing industry benchmarks and other ways to easily enable data to become insight.

Pro-active and responsive partnership from DX customer success and support teams.

It's early days for us expanding into the Data Cloud aspects but it appears that there has been a good degree of thoughtfulness around the flexibility to support different SDLC approaches and not enforce opinions.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Dislike is too strong, but some growing pains are:

Maintaining up to date and accurate contributor and team structures within DX are critical to success but could be made easier to achieve. There's a bit too much need for export/import of multiple CSVs and APIs are a still evolving.

Support for non-engineering job roles (e.g. Product Management, UX) could be better evolved. There's minimal support in terms of snapshot participation, but better representation of these people within teams is needed.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Marrying quantitative and qualitative insight from software-based product engineering teams to help drive both local team improvement focus and provide product signal for centre-out tooling, platform and other initiatives.

 ### 44. A great product with great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean W. | Head of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

The product is great, but the truly exceptional thing about DX is their support and expertise. I had a dedicated team through our onboarding. They worked closely with our team to make sure we were getting the most out of DX.

They didn't stop at onboarding. The DX team has always been immediately available to point us in the right direction. They also provide expertise: academic research and proven strategies for help our engineering team improve.

I was an early DX adopter many years ago at a previous job. I was happy to return again in my current role. Would buy again!

**What do you dislike about DX?**

The only thing that I've ever missed in DX is the ability to invite viewers outside our Slack org. There's nothing to dislike. Every feature, insight, and question I've come across is in DX.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Insight into our SDLC, engineering productivity, and getting insights out of all our disparate operational systems.

 ### 45. DX helps provide actionable insights to improve developer productivity at Webflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Albert C. | Senior Engineering Manager, Developer Experience, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 04, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

First and foremost, I really appreciate DX's willingness to partner and listen to our productivity concerns. DX has been very responsive to our questions and comments on how to improve our developer productivity here at Webflow. I view DX as one of the thought leaders in the developer productivity space so it's really cool to have easy access to the people behind DX, including their CEO.

We've grown with DX and the partnership started as an easy way to gather sentiment on what could be improved, but it has grown to the point where DX has enabled us to become data driven (with sentiment scores AND real data) and track the right metrics for our company.

I would highly recommend DX to anyone in the developer productivity/experience space.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

One thing that could be better:
* User/team management - teams are dynamic (almost every quarter) so the management of who is contributing to what team can be tedious

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX is providing our pillar with actionable insights to help improve engineering life at our company. It's a great tool to collect sentiment scores directly from the engineerings (and we average >95% in terms of response rate) and also be able to back those sentiment scores (good and bad) with real data from our 3rd party tools. We're also able to leverage metrics provided by DX, specifically metrics like CFR, and we're able to set them as pillar level OKRs.

 ### 46. A great partner for helping us understand our engineering team and how its performing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

- Lots of great metrics
- Very easy to use
- A compelling developer survey that gets a good response rate from our department
- Transparency and customization options, specifically the ability to see and change the SQL that drives the metrics
- Great customer support, very responsive
- DX provides us anonymized insights of companies of a similar nature to see how others approach working with the tool
- Connects to just about all of the integrations we would want

**What do you dislike about DX?**

- Set up and implementation took a while
- The volume and density of metrics can be intimidating for new users

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were able to solve two problems by adopting DX. First, finding a tool that engaged our developers for surveys and second, a tool that could give us deep insights into how our engineering department is performing.

 ### 47. Making Sense out of the Sentiment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Siddharth S. | Senior Engineering Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

UI is friendly and intuitive.
Good reports and charts.
Easy integration with a lot of tools.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

It is rigid in some areas such as doing CFR in a particular way only.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping understand the problem areas and making sense out of general developer sentiment.
Communicating with the team about how we are addressing their concerns by providing us with categories to work on.

 ### 48. Overall very useful, but missing some small QoL features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Clean and intuitive design. I like how easy it is to spin up and send out surveys so much that I have been recommending it to coworkers looking for feedback on different things. We’ve also been running quarterly snapshots and it’s easy to navigate the feedback we get inside DX.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Setting up the GitHub Copilot connector was a pain and the docs weren’t very good. I really dislike that I can’t exclude weekends from Copilot usage reports, it skews the data. It’s also not super intuitive how team-based adoption rates affect the overall adoption rate of the org. For example, all of our teams are at 80%+ adoption, our overall adoption rate is somehow much lower, like 60%.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking AI adoption. We use it to gain insights into how much our engineers are using Copilot. I hope yall continue to expand the number of connectors. Other than Copilot, we primarily use Amp, ChatGPT, and Gemini

 ### 49. Cross-cutting analytics in one convenient location

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin T. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX effectively consolidates team metrics into accessible formats, offering multiple viewing options that cater to different needs. It provides valuable support for measuring effectiveness of organizational initiatives as they progress, and it also helps identify potential issues before they escalate. The interface is intuitive and the options are plentiful. DX has helped us provide the data we need to prove out our ideas. I use it multiple times per week to gauge various aspects of team performance and health.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

There are a lot of options, configurations, and filters to use so there is a learning curve. Once you get familiarized with most of it there's a lot of insights to be gained.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX compiles all the signals we use in one convenient location. Prior to this, we had to check multiple different locations and even then we could only make educated guesses as some of the data wasn't clear in that format

 ### 50. Review for Platform engineer in TV2

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2026

**What do you like best about DX?**

The interface is easy to use. We use the "pull request"-overview on a daily basis. It's a bit unclear how often the PR's are updated though (if it's daily, hourly etc)

**What do you dislike about DX?**

We tried PlatformX - we tried the query functionality and it appeard to be very slow.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We recently started to use Dx, so we are starting to get some insight into how well things are documented in tv2.

**Official Response from Taylor Bruneaux:**

> Glad the PR overview is getting daily use! Our connectors sync multiple times throughout the day so you're always working with near real-time data. On PlatformX query speed, we hear you and we're actively rolling out a major infrastructure upgrade delivering up to 50x faster analytical query performance. Worth revisiting as you get deeper into DX!
