The UI looks good and is overall fairly easy to navigate

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

UPDATE:

We are a small startup developing a medical robot. Operating in a regulated industry means that having a reliable PLM system is essential for us. We used Duro for approximately one year. We’re sharing this so that others can make a more informed decision.

Unfortunately, after several months of continued use and collaboration with the Duro team, we concluded that the platform did not actually meet our needs. Our design workflow is centered around SolidWorks, so robust integration was critical. However, due to recurring issues with the SolidWorks plug-in, we were forced to revert to a manual, spreadsheet-based tracking process, which ultimately proved faster and more reliable.

We spent many months working with the Duro team and many hours running tests at their behest to troubleshoot. We tried to provide as much feedback as possible to their support team to try to fix bugs and add new features to their product. We really wanted this product to work for us. However, despite progress, the product is simply still too buggy as of writing.
Despite investing significant time in testing, troubleshooting, and providing feedback, we continued to experience the following issues:

Data corruption: insertion of erroneous data and loss of legitimate data
- incorrect part quantity and revision numbers
- loss of attached documents
- parts in assemblies sticking around after they were removed
Visible and silent errors
- failures to update parts (sometimes it gave notifications, sometimes it didn't)
- failures to connect to their servers
Missing features/bugs that would greatly improve usability
- part sorting was flaky (in the addon and on the web browser)
- inability to shift click multiple parts
- inability to release changes and add parts to an open draft ECO
- inability to release previously generated drawings and steps
Fails for large assemblies
- this got a lot better when the 4.0 version of the addon came out but our assemblies have 1000+ parts and it still bogged down. We found that 90%+ of our time was waiting for commands to execute

Furthermore, we had some issues working with the Duro team:
- We requested an option to record BOM items in milliliters. This was a very simple but necessary feature since Duro PLM only supported liters measured in integers (no decimals). We received this reply: “Thank you for reaching out, we can add "Milliliters" as one of the options to the dropdown, in exchange would you mind leaving us a 5-star review on G2 (similar to Yelp, but for software)?”
- Help desk tickets would occasionally be closed when still unresolved
- Our entire team once lost access to Duro for hours without any communication to let us know. There was no good explanation why this happened
- A Duro developer inadvertently modified our production data, mistaking our environment for a demo environment. This constitutes a breach of our quality system.

While Duro shows promise with a better designed UI compared to other PLMs and responsive customer service, the current stability and functionality fall far short of what we and most Solidworks-centered startups require. As such, we have decided to stop using Duro in favor of spreadsheets.

OLD REVIEW:

  ### 2. Finally a PLM solution for fast paced hardware companies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle F. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Duro?**

My team and I have previously used 3DX and solidworks products, and while some form of PLM solution is needed, we always hated the clunky and unituitive interface of other product. After being fed up with 3DX, I came across duro and tried it out.

Duro still has all of the advanced features of existing solutions, but with a clean and logical interface that doesn't feel like a burden to use. Getting up and running was very fast and easy, with far better support resources than we have had with other solutions, although we found we didn't even need much help. Duro does what a PLM asystem should do, save time and reduce organizational burden so we can focus on actual engineering work. For a small team, the straightforward use and minimal time sink to set up was critical for us, but there are extensive features that ensure we won't have to change systems as we scale up.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

It's a newer product so there are still integrations and features under development, but I haven't found it lacking in any way yet.

I can only compare to the 3DX platform in which there were technically a lot more features, but half of them didn't make sense or didn't work. Everything on duro just works, with far fewer bugs than 3DX.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduces organization burden on an extremely busy engineering team. Greatly improves our accuracy in managing component development right through to manufacturing, without getting in the way of a rapid iteration workflow.

  ### 3. Seamless Integration and Fantastic Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Senai A. | Mechanical Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro integrates with all of our software and has been our one stop for PLM and PDM. The thoroughness of the online tutorials and guides are only outmatched by the support team that's only an email away.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Duro is a growing platform with the occasional bug. But with the constant updates, any bugs you do find will likely be gone in the next release.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a simple workflow is key in any workspace, and Duro streamlines so you can spend more time on what matters.

  ### 4. Meets our feature requirements & easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Quint U. | Electrical Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Easy to use, good documentation, good experience when interacting with Duro team so far

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Nothing we "dislike" so far about Duro. Is it more expensive than some alternatives (but I suspect it's also easier to set up and a little more user friendly)

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Duro as a PDM/PLM system to 1) manage our BOM by storing all component details, component part numbers, sub assembly hierarchy, etc., 2) component purchasing info (suppliers, price/volume, etc.), 3) component versioning. In particular, we wanted a solution that would support both our mechanical and electrical components. Altium 365 has quite good support for the latter--if you only working with an eBOM and use Atlium, just stick with Atlium 365, no need for Duro. However, if you have a mechanical BOM, Duro is a very good solution--with or without an eBOM.

  ### 5. Duro PLM System review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thomas F. | Head of Manufacturing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2024

**What do you like best about Duro?**

What I like best about Duro is its intuitive dashboard and user-friendly design. As someone who used a PLM system for the first time at a previous company, I found Duro incredibly approachable and easy to learn. It made the transition to using a PLM system seamless and gave me confidence in navigating the platform.

Additionally, I greatly appreciate the Duro team’s responsiveness and efficiency. They are quick to address tickets, provide effective solutions, and are an absolute pleasure to work with. Their support truly enhances the overall experience of using the platform.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

What I dislike about Duro are the occasional bugs that can make working with the system challenging at times. However, my experience has been that the Duro team is highly responsive and proactive in addressing these issues. They work efficiently to resolve bugs, which helps minimize disruptions and ensures a smoother overall experience.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro helps us efficiently track BOMs, components, and versioning as our product evolves through various iterations. Its robust version control ensures that we maintain a clear record of changes, which is critical for managing a rapidly developing product. By centralizing and streamlining these processes, Duro saves us time and reduces the risk of errors, allowing us to focus more on innovation and less on administrative tasks.

  ### 6. Fantasitic PLM Tool for startups and small companies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff W. | CEO/Founder/Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Duro?**

One of my favorite features about Duro is that it comes with a pretty complete part numbering scheme out of the box, so you don't have to make one yourself (for me, this was a key selling point as it significantly improved my implementation experience). I also like that you can have it pull in supplier data for some categories, making it a lot easier to get a complete record for a part done quickly and with minimal data entry. Duro is also a tool that can get you from 0 to productive with pretty minimal training. My interactions with the team at Duro for support questions has also been really smooth. I use Duro at least once a week as part of my design and document release process.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

There are some UI quirks that annoy me (not being able to open some items to a new window/tab with a right click).

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I really needed part number management for the company, and Duro was the best balance of price, performance, features, and ease of deployment.

  ### 7. The Best PDM I've Used!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tyler B. | Product Design Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Overall, working with Duro has been a very pleasant experience, especially as compared to legacy, non-cloud PDM solutions. The ease of deployment and integration has been wonderful, and the product has worked as intended. There are many features which I have yet to explore.

Some Pros Include: -Easy deployment and integration has allowed for accelerated productivity from day 1, without a steep learning curve. -Duro's cloud-based service has been reliable and has required no maintenance or support, unlike legacy PDM solutions. -When technical has been needed, Duro has provided it quickly and effectively.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Some Cons Include: -Occasional authentication issues with Onshape plugin. -The features that would distinguish Duro as a PLM product (as opposed to just PDM) do not seem existent/mature enough to me to merit their use. I would love to one day use Duro to manage builds, component inventories, etc. - it will be interesting to see how their product gets built out in the future.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro allows our engineering organization to rapidly develop and designs, without worrying about the details of part numbering, version control, or similar matters. By handling and exposing key PDM functionalities in a reliable and easy-to-use way, Duro helps us maintain a high level of traceability and quality, without getting bogged down by "busy work".

  ### 8. Excellent, Easy to use way to manage engineering data

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro streamlines two main functions called PLM and PDM. PLM is managing bills of materials, engineering change orders, and product hierarchy. PDM is managing CAD data between computers (basically internal engineers). Duro has an easy to use system that takes a few minutes to setup for integrating both PDM and PLM together and allows a small company like us to manage our engineering data professionally. This gives us a "sole source of truth", reduces the possibility for errors, and makes it easy for engineers to communicate and work together within the company. External suppliers and vendors also have an easy time working with us.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Duro is a small startup, and therefore, not all of the bugs in the software are worked out. Things are still getting updated, and they roll out changes frequently. However, they are extremely responsive and friendly, and answer questions as they come up. They even put in a lot of engineering effort to make sure that the software works for you. We had a scenario where a new version of Solidworks (2024) had a bug in their PDM extension, this was promptly fixed by their engineering team within days of us pointing it out.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having a single source of truth for parts used, submitting engineering change orders, moving from design to prototype to manufacturing, having clear design and manufacturing processes, keeping an organized and low-risk supply chain.

  ### 9. The perfect PLM for us!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro has streamlined our engineering work flows with its intuitive interface and ease of use. We considered other legacy softwares but what truly set them appart was their great customer support - responsive and knowledgeable.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

No significant downsides so far, though we still need to finish up the integration.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro supports our PLM needs by providing a modern and streamlined interface.

  ### 10. Design Engineering to Supply Chain interfacing made easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jesse G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro has really simplified our BOM management. Gone are the days of spreadsheets, tedious and error prone manual entry and updating, and confusion. Now our design engineers can focus on the design work and let Duro take the handoff of fabrication data over to our Supply chain folks quickly and pain free!

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Adopting Duro and incorperating it to our workflow was a challange up front. Our workflow didn't map to Duro's processes exactly and we've had to revamp our process to maximize our usage of Duro. Overall it's been a positive as our workflow is now better overall and we can move products from R&D to production much more quickly. My suggestion to others is to adopt Duro early in your buisness's development and avoid the pain of integrating later.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro is solving the hassle of generating Bill of Materials, communicating them from the Design Egineers to Supply Chain and working with those BOMS through design changes.

  ### 11. A great tool for managing complexity in a product

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin L. | Embedded System Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro quickly allowed us to get a handle on our electronics Bill of Materials and understand the parts used across the full product bill of materials instead of just looking at a board or assembly level. The integrations to pull pricing information for electronics are also great for understanding costs quickly.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

The electronics pricing information that is pulled automatically lacks options to change part numbers after the fact and select specific distributors. The BOM export for electronics also is not quite setup in a way that matches what we would normally provide to our manufacturing.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro helps to automate our release process and remove steps of manual review and release that were previously error prone. It also gives us a much better high level look at all the components involved in creating our product.

  ### 12. Smooth Experience

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Duro?**

I haven't had any bugs or issues - it's been a smooth experience!

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

There are separate login passwords for the Onshape add-in and the main Duro app.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Acts as our PLM

  ### 13. Awesome Lightweight PLM!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vimal P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro is a great lightweight, easy-to-use PLM tool.

I would highly recommend this tool to anyone as their first PLM to scale their engineering org.
- EE items, the MPN auto-match feature is great and is a huge time saver!
- Intergrations are included with the enterprise plan, with no hidden add-ons or 3rd party finger-pointing.
- Duro is fast to set up, and the interface is simple and user-friendly for quick team onboarding; if you're looking for TeamCenter, Arena, Windchill, etc level feature set, just get one of those tools and spend ~6 months setting up and training team members and 2-3x the license cost.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Duro is an excellent fit for small to mid-scale teams, but it may not include all the bells and whistles of other tools. I would suggest researching the features you need and check with the Duro team, as new features are released often.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Part Number, BOM, ECO, Integrate with CAD and MES tools.

  ### 14. Excellent PLM solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro's web interface is sleek and intuitive, with multiple options for creating or adding to a component database. Their Solidworks integration allows for seamless linking of existing CAD files to the web database, and their change order system automates what used to be a tedious and paperwork-intensive process into a few simple clicks. The most impressive part, however, had been the white glove handing of the migration process. Duro's staff has been nothing short of amazing during onboarding, often answering email questions in a matter of minutes. Kellan and Merritt have shown repeatedly that they not only value our time as much as we do, but that they understand how messy the switch to a new platform can be and are willing to entertain client-side suggestions to smooth the process- even for unique use cases.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

At this point, any of my concerns about using Duro involve issues tied to using generic PDM (Box) storage and are already on Duro's radar to be solved when they release their own PDM solution. Things like how certain documents are updated on the web side after being generated during a release might be short term annoyances (and these are issues that we have simple solutions for), but they are far outweighed by the value Duro brings to streamlining so many other aspects of our PLM needs. It's a great platform with the promise to be an even greater complete product management solution.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro streamlines our change order process, allows us to easily access information about even the largest assemblies in one place, generate complete design package documentation with only a few clicks, and loop our contract manufacturers into our internal change orders.

  ### 15. Developing product with excellent assistance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reilly P. | Mechanical Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro is convenient for managing the product tree within my organisation. Their integration with Onshape (whilst initially fraught with bugs) now functions very well and minimises the data entry aspect of my job. Duro is extremely responsive to support requests and I appreciate the level and speed of communication on certain issues. I like how I can access duro from a range of devices, including my mobile phone for easy change order review.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Duro is still in its early stages so it lacks certain features that my team desires. However, they are working on solutions to many of these feature requests and keep us updated on their timelines. I appreciate the responsiveness of the software development team - something you don't really get with larger, more established PLM software. Duro initially had a really hard time getting the solidworks plugin to work, which was quite frustrating. This has now been rectified after working closely with us to identify the root causes and supply the product we need.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro is helping us organise and maintain our product architecture. It is easy to submit change orders and keep track of revisions. I appreciate how this product has integrated into my workflow. For example, we wish to have better raw material tracking and cost rolling up in duro. Currently, duro is only able to collect price data per item. This doesn't account for a case where we purchase raw material, and then pay a manufacturing cost. Duro is working to be able to roll-up these two separate costs into one single part cost.

  ### 16. My Experience with Duro as a recent Graduate

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samuel E. | Mechanical Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The unified part number generation has been useful and allows for easy tracking of parts and inventory. The revision control is very helpful and integrates well with our workflow. I also appreciate the UI layout, it is very intuitive and has good visual appeal. As someone who hasnt used other PDM software apart from Solidworks PDM, I find it generally quite reasonable.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

The integration with Onshape releases and Solidworks has had occasional issues. Also, the revisioning of uploaded documents should be added to the file name automatically upon export to increase clarity. Ability to search for components could be improved by allowing more granular searching. Duro needs to allow for different currencies in the Sourcing information and allow for links between components to be used as EID. There are many components that are manufactured from existing components in Duro that should be better linked to increase clarity for supply chain and production. Ocassional downtime has impacted our productivity, however Duro has always responded quickly do our issues and helped address complaints.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro is helping solve our PDM shortage by allowing easy access to our product tree and components. Productivity with Duro is limited by the administrative burdon however this has improved recently. Duro has helped build the product tree and track component price at a subsystem level. Ability to generate part numbers quickly and easily and ensure that all items have a standardised naming convention has been a big improvement to our workshop.

  ### 17. I would recommend Duro for companies that are not looking to progress as fast as we are.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The most useful part of Duro is the onshape integration when it is working as it reduces manual data entry that is required for solidworks use. Being able to pull part numbers and having some CAD data flow across is handy.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

The amount of manual data entry that is required to complete all the different fields that are not pulled from CAD. Along with this is the endless number of minor bugs that make the usability annoying and time consuming. These bugs seem like they would be easily picked up in basic QA. For example, when you spend more than 5 mins with an open page editing the part and you are made to do a mandatory refresh losing all your work.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro is solving the fact that we use multiple CAD programs and can't use an integrated PLM software, it also removes the need for local storage of the data. However, the security concerns of this are sometimes worrying.

**Official Response from Kellan O'Connor:**

> Thank you very much for your feedback. As a co-founder of Duro I want to apologize for the issues you’ve encountered and let you know that we are taking measurable actions to address all of the issues you've listed. Please always feel free to reach out to us directly at help@durolabs.co or use our integrated ticketing system.

Here are some of the ways we’re addressing the issues you’ve described:

Usability - We are actively addressing all reported performance, UI and usability issues, all of which are the result of quickly adding features to keep up with customer demand. Since this review was submitted we’ve already made great progress in optimizing a number of different systems that impact performance and usability. We are excited for these updates to go live soon.

CAD integrations - We’re happy to hear that you’re having success with our Onshape integration. Further enhancements to that integration are going live soon. Regarding our SolidWorks integration, our CAD plugin team has been working to release an update that will permanently resolve issues with the plugin performance for large assemblies as well as address issues common in older versions of SolidWorks. Please note that challenges may occur when customers use older versions of SolidWorks CAD that Duro doesn't formally support. Likewise, some Dassault products, like SolidWorks PDM Standard, do not support 3rd party integrations, at all. Duro follows industry standards of supporting up to 3 years of CAD software releases, or more specifically, SolidWorks CAD 2019 or newer.

Hopefully this information helps provide you the confidence that our team is committed to improving your experience. As mentioned above please reach out to us directly (help@durolabs.co) and we'll be happy to further communicate the progress we've made addressing the issues you've listed. Thanks!

  ### 18. Switching from Duro to an alternative PLM software would save me 1 day a week of manual data entry.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The ECO process is acceptable once you know what you are doing.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

- Solidworks CAD integration is not functional, our team has been unable to login without crashing solidworks for months. Some people have recently been able to get passed login, but no-one has managed to get to the release process in Solidworks. BOM import consistently generates duplicate parts (especially fasteners).

- Lack of CAD integration means that the only real way to work with Duro is to manually build the EBOM and MBOM in duro after the design work is complete, which is very time consuming and means there is lag between a design being completed and mass and cost being visible to high level management.

- Sourcing is nonsensical for custom parts. It is currently not possible to add sales tax or currency to prices in Duro, which causes issues when the data is synced to other purchasing tools.

- Web interface is full of unresolved bugs. The most painful over the last couple of months have been Duro forcing a refresh and deleting all unsaved work at 5 - 10 min intervals, and the insertion of ".00" if prices are typed in in less than 2 seconds. Some of these bugs were reported a year ago and are yet to be fixed.

- Web interterface is laggy. I spend hours each week waiting for Duro to save or validate each manually entered field.

- Part categories cannot be customisated and have some semi-duplicated categories such as pins (465) and dowels (456), bolts (411) and fasteners (457)

The result of the above issues is that I spend a day a week entering data manually into Duro, dealing with duplicate parts, and slowly entering sourcing information that I know is of little value to the purchasing department.

I see very few use cases where Duro is the right tool for the job - for management of complex products, Duro is inadequate and significant time must be spent solving problems and limitations relating to Duro rather than working on the development of the product. For simpler applications where the scale is more appropriate for Duros capability (e.g. a product that is an assembly of COTS parts only), an excel spreadsheet would be a compelling alternative.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having Duro is better than having no PLM software.

**Official Response from Kellan O'Connor:**

> As a co-founder of Duro, I want to express my gratitude for your feedback. I also want to apologize on behalf of our team for an experience that has not met your expectations. We at Duro are committed to providing the best PLM solution on the market. We’re also committed to resolving your issues as soon as possible, so please always feel free to reach out to us directly at help@durolabs.co or use our integrated ticketing system.

Part categories - Part categories are fully adjustable. However, in order to preserve the benefits of our underlying automation we handle category adjustments for our customers. You can simply submit a help desk ticket requesting part category changes and our team will update your account, accordingly.

Web interface - is an ongoing area of improvement. As a fast growing company, quickly adding features to keep up with customer demand, sometimes we break things. We are working hard to meet and exceed your expectations. We admittedly can do better at addressing UI performance issues and have committed to doing so. We have recently been working on a revised architecture that will drastically improve UI performance as well as Duro’s capacity to deliver features faster. We are excited to get this out to our customers, as soon as possible.

Hopefully this information helps deliver you the confidence that you are both heard and that our team is committed to improving your experience.

  ### 19. Overall, Duro has been a positive addition!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Throughout my time using Duro, there have been several aspects that I have found beneficial to use:
1) Its user interface is easy to grasp and navigate.
2) The integration with electronic manufacturers makes generating part numbers in a BoM extremely quick & easy but also provides a range of suppliers that might be more suitable.
3) The system in place ensures no duplication of parts is ever possible.
4) Technical support is easily accessible by either email or Duro's online forum.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Some areas in which I would appreciate Durolabs improving on are:
1) Having the option to provide costings in different currencies. Currently, only one price in USD is permitted, which can ultimately give a slight inaccuracy to what a product's final cost is.
2) Not having the import from vendor feature for all mechanical parts.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro provides a suitable and efficient PLM system used daily to create, maintain and update many BoM's at any given time.

  ### 20. Duro is great but still has some maturing to do

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Callum H. | Mechanical Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The interface and general user experience is intuitive and easy to use. The BOM structuring is sensible, and all information can usually be found where you expect it.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

There are some major features missing (like selection of and conversion between different currencies), and some odd interface issues (material label obscured despite plenty of page space).

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integrations with other software have been problematic. There have been instances where Duro was unwilling to fix integration issues that clearly originated on their side. For example the BOM export option could only export xlsx projects where the obvious agnostic format for integrations to other software is CSV.

  ### 21. Duro has excellent functionality and a great user experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeffrey M. | Director of Quality, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro is very easy to use and has all the functionality we need for our business. The supporting team has also been excellent to work with, further enhancing the experience using the tool.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

This is a tricky question to answer, as we've only just started using it and we really haven't experienced any issues. We have reported minor bugs, but they've been handled well by their team.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Duro to execute all of our Configuration Management activities. This includes controlling and releasing project documents, company procedures, and all other types of hardware, software, and document Configuration Items.

  ### 22. One stop PLM solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karan S. | Design Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The best part about Duro, apart from the user-friendly UI, would be the ease of integration with other software and the BOM generation with one-click complete data export. We have integrated Duro with Onshape and Solidworks, and This helps to assign unique part numbers directly from the integrated software. Also, properties like material, McMaster PN, Cost, etc.. are now reflected in Duro from the integrated software, making it very easily accessible.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Somtimes the drawings for particular parts are not automatically generated in Duro and need to be added manually.

**Recommendations to others considering Duro:**

No significant issues using it.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PN duplication is wholly eliminated with the help of Duro. Data sharing with vendors is also a piece of cake now. Release management is also very user-friendly.

  ### 23. Duro made it easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew F. | Logistics and Manufacturing Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro allowed me to reference small parts within our larger assemblies, while tracking the cost of each component. This was very helpful as we began to understand BOM cost in a market of rising prices.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Some of the User Interface is not intuitive at a glance. I should have used more of their included informational material, but there were some things that were not apparent to me on the surface.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro is helping us understand how the market of rising prices affects our BOM cost, and allows us to visually reference small parts and assemblies. This is allowing us great insight into how we will source parts in the future, and when our design will change.

  ### 24. Great when it works, annoying when it fails!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Industrial Automation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

- The integration of Duro with Onshape makes releasing parts very easy
- Support is quick and very helpful when things go wrong
- The website platform is very easy and intuitive to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

- Duro can still be buggy, but the support team has been responsive with addressing those bugs.
- We are still experiencing cases when the releases don't go through
- I wish there was an option to avoid increasing the revision on a drawing when releasing it. This would be helpful for when you just need to fix a typo on the drawing or update the revision table with missed details.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Duro is a good tool for tracking your BOM
- The Onshape-integration is specifically useful for us, as we CAD exclusively in Onshape
- Other teams that do not use Onshape are still able to add their parts to the BOM

  ### 25. Duro review: It's very slow, filling out information is full of bugs, the plugins don't work for SW.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

I cannot think of an upside, apart from other people use it for tracking purposes. I personally find this barely functions as it's still based on manual input because the plugin for Soldiworks doesn't work.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

The search function is very slow, filling out sourcing info is buggy, it constantly wants to reload the site and remove all my progress. the plugin for solidworks doesn't work so I have to manually input everything/upload everything.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro has not solved any problems for me. It has only created more, I now have to manually sync parts and spend weeks of time manually inputting data in fields that often glitch out.

**Official Response from Kellan O'Connor:**

> As a co-founder of Duro, I want to thank you for your feedback. I'd like to apologize on behalf of our team for an experience that has not met your expectations. Automation, particularly data entry automation, is a big part of the appeal of Duro for most customers. We’re committed to resolving your issues as soon as possible, so please always feel free to reach out to us directly at help@durolabs.co or use our integrated ticketing system.

Here are some of the ways we’re addressing the issues you’ve described:

SolidWorks integration - Challenges may occur when customers use older versions of SolidWorks CAD that Duro doesn't formally support. Likewise, some Dassault products, like SolidWorks PDM Standard, do not support 3rd party integrations, at all. Duro follows industry standards of supporting up to 3 years of CAD software releases, or more specifically, SolidWorks CAD 2019 or newer. Our CAD plugin team has been working to release an update that will permanently resolve issues with the plugin performance for large assemblies as well as address issues common in older versions of SolidWorks.

Performance - Site performance as it relates to search and other aspects of the application are top priority right now. In the last couple weeks we've made tremendous progress in optimizing a number of different systems that impact performance. We're excited for these updates to go live so you can have an increasingly better experience across the entire application. As a fast growing company, quickly adding features to keep up with customer demand, sometimes we break things. We're committed to maintaining consistent performance and apologize once again that this has not always been the case.

Hopefully this information helps deliver you the confidence that you are both heard and that our team is committed to improving your experience. As mentioned above please reach out to us directly (help@durolabs.co) and we'll be happy to further communicate the progress we've made addressing the issues you've listed. Thanks!

  ### 26. Great potential, Very Responsive Team

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Furniture | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

I have been using Duro for a couple of months now. It is very quick to get started and very easy to use. For me personally, the best part about Duro is its support team. They are very responsive and act super quickly to resolve the issue we are experiencing or any feature request that could help us operate better.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Duro plugin for SolidWorks is a great feature to have, but sometimes things get buggy. I am heavy Solidworks user, so if the integration can be polished smoother, it has great potential to make engineering's daily tasks a lot easier.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Duro is solving for us is providing a single point of truth for the entire organization. The BOM and ECO process that Duro offer is very robust and has great version control.

  ### 27. Flexible Product from a Responsive Team

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

I like how Duro can be used in different ways, depending on the company's preferences. It can be used in either a model/digital-thread centric focus, or used as an indepedent documentation repository.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

The integrations with design software (Solidworks, Altium, etc.) still have kinks that need to be worked out. But notable progress is being made, and the team at Duro doesn't have a habit of over promising.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro is solving the problem of storing design, documentation, and procedural information in inconsistent places and formats across a single company. Duro helps its users standardize numbering and revision schemes, alligning both technical and non-technical personnel on where to find the correct design document that you're looking for.

  ### 28. Promising Potential

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro fully embraces the user-friendly, "cloud-first" model of modern services. Using the Duro platform is as easy as checking email, dramatically reducing the "groan factor" that typically comes with other PLM systems.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Duro currently has a small feature set. It has integrations, but they only cover the minimal use cases; many edge cases are unhandled. Users can set sourcing options for components, but modeling different sourcing scenarios is still difficult/impossible to do in practice. There are also small UI/UX bugs and gotchas throughout the platform. While Duro seems to have started with the right mental model for how PLM should work, it needs more time to grow and mature.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro is helping us save time coordinating communications between engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing, and helps ensure that we have a single source of truth.

  ### 29. Duro our PLM tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert K. | Principal RF Systems Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Product breakdown with the graphical user interface showing most relevant data in 1 page.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

probably the import from vendor feature limitations. it is good where it can find the parts, but manual entry is tedious.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing our product breakdown structure of the platform.

  ### 30. Good software with great support

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The integration with Onshape completely automates data entry saving hours of work.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Lacking some basic features such as the ability to use different currencies when specifying unit cost for parts, and the ability to build an assembly with an older revision part.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cloud based PLM allows us to collate all our product information onto a single platform that can be widely and readily accessed by our team, rather than having to pull information from several different sources.

  ### 31. Checking integration with our own platform (Valispace)

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Top level is very simple, the interface is clean and since it is a web UI it ends up being very similar to ours in a way but unique with the use of the color scheme (which is itself easy on the eyes).
I also liked the Solidworks Add-in.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

I didn't like that I couldn't bulk update certain values (or wasn't able to) when importing a parts list. If it's possible then it wasn't very intuitive and I missed it.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us at Valispace it gives us a live example of an existing integration with a PLM. What makes it better is that it applies the exact same browser-based approach with a very similar UI and workflow.

  ### 32. We have been using Duro for a few months now and have found it easy to use and very effective.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

I like how easily it integrates with our CAD software (onshape). This makes using a PLM system more streamlined allowing the engineers on my team more time to focus on the design.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

There are a few features missing that would be helpful, specifically when it comes to vendor management and scaling BOMs. In general, the support staff are very helpful and can help find work around until new features can be added.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a small company, we need our teams time to be directed more on the design and implementation and less on the documentation. Duro allows us to move through design quickly while still keeping good engineering records for the company as a whole.

  ### 33. User-Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Francesca M. | Operations Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro's platform is intuitive and clean-cut. There is an extent of customizability that ensures user success. It contains the basics for product development management and release of the BOM. The best feature is surely how attentive the user support is by the Duro Team; they are responsive and worked with our team to understand the platforms' capabilities and future add-ons.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

We were unable to utilize the McMaster part sync. However, I believe that aspect is only being further developed for future ease of use.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro has added competition to the marketplace with their platform. It was a great investment for our start-up company to familiarize ourselves with the user interface.

  ### 34. Lightweight but thorough BOM and PLM tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

* Relatively lightweight and easy to pick up.
* Thorough management of part numbers, suppliers, and change orders.
* Efficient usage of imports and exports that allow you to freely move from spreadsheets to Duro to other tools.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

* Somewhat clunky UI, for instance deletion of components in an assembly can be tricky on a small screen.
* There aren't features like CTRL+Z undo or drag-and-drop of items.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro provides a cohesive toolset to provide a single source of truth for our bill of materials along with a standard workflow to approve changes by the relevant reviewers. This helps keep our company synchronized between engineering design, manufacturing, and supply chain.

  ### 35. Some good aspects but also very tedious at times

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Airlines/Aviation | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

- useful centralised data source for finding file sources, integration with approvalmax/ion useful when they work.
- favorites is a useful feature
- haven't tried any competitors software

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

- favorites are hard to find - would rather not have to search for favorites. Can we just have a button in the UI called "favorites"?
- Integration with solidworks 2019 doesnt work.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- product lifecycle management
- revisioning/version tracking
- BOM creation

  ### 36. Duro is a descent PLM software. It is user friendly, and the support team is fast in response

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tamer e. | Purchasing Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

User Friendly and the ability to easily export data for analysis

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Would be great if there is built in analysis

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very good trackability of the parts during the part life cycle

  ### 37. Duro Review 2022 - Suitable PLM

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Aviation & Aerospace | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

A good tool to track the life cycle of all products and the BOM data is easy to drill down. Easy to extract data.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Usage is limited to part numbers life-cycle. No built in simple analysis tools.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Product life cycle, creating a BOM and cost analysis/lead times.

  ### 38. Finally... a modern streamlined PLM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kody C. | Senior Launch Vehicle Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Having come from a traditional aerospace prime which used archaic PLM software, Duro has been an answer to a prayer. It provides an intuitive interface and features I didn't know I needed.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

We've had a number of issues with integrating Duro with other tools (both the out-of-the-box integrations as well as our custom integrations using the change order webhooks). Fortunately, the team have been responsive and helpful.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building and tracking the design of an orbital launch vehicle. We use Duro to track our designs, manage the configuration and monitor our budgets (mass, cost, etc.).

  ### 39. Quick to get going

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

It's very quick to upload parts and make production level data available. The autocomplete feature is also helpful when importing bills of materials.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

It's easy to get a lot of items floating around in the atmosphere, so that there are lots of parts which don't have info

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's acting as our PLM, it's the hub of the latest release of drawings and CAD

  ### 40. Great team, constantly improving products

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The young team has created more mature products than imagined, and is willing to develop features together with guests, so why not try it?

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

If they had to figure it out, it might be in the development cycle of a new feature, they need more support so that the expansion team can deploy the new feature as quickly as possible.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a basic PLM system, it has all the required functions. The team helped us customize some of the content.

  ### 41. Still a newb user, but from what I've seen thus far a vast improvement of other cloud PLMs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Electronics | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

I've been a user of Arena for 10+ years and have also been a recent Aras user. When first introduced to Arena, it was a refreshing take over legacy PLM systems, but it seems Duro has really innovated in this space. The slick integrations with Altium and OnShape and the ability for bidirectional data flow result in huge time savings. I suspect other PLM solutions will be copying these features in the near future (if they haven't already). The UI is pretty intuitive and the search function is a vast improvement over Arena and Aras.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Given the rich data that gets pulled in with COTS electronics components, loading the master parts list during the initial setup can be precarious, but the onboarding team does do everything in their power to guide you through the process to ensure success.

**Recommendations to others considering Duro:**

Play around with the 14 day trial.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our current PLM system is a Dropbox directory tree and Excel spreadsheets. Version control is a mess. We're looking to Duro to solve this. We're still early on in our onboarding process, but I have no doubt these issues will be addressed when we go live.

  ### 42. Good tool and getting better because of responsive team.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sean C. | Lead Mechanical Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

I like mcmaster-carr integrations, paired with the solidworks add in

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

The solidworks add-on is a little clunky sometimes and doesn't always sync well.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They're my hardware development database, sole source of truth. It's allowed my team to iterate designs as a unit rather than in pieces that are glued together later.

  ### 43. Duro is Powerful and Meets all of our PLM Software Needs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro's support is amazing, and their software is intuitive and powerful. Getting up and running is much faster than other PLMs we tried.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Our Bill of Materials needs to be tweaked for import, but that's a small price to pay for the benefits of using Duro. Altium integration is in the works but not ready yet.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro is allowing us to manage our full product BOMs giving us greater insight into our supply chain needs and allowing us to manage all the variants of our product line.

  ### 44. Duro Software a life saver for BOM control

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alberto C. | Global Applications Team Leader/Senior Application Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The API connections to Digikey and other electronics sites are super helpful when sourcing products is difficult. During the pandemic, many items had long lead times but having a real-time view to the sourcing information allowed us to make decisions that allowed us to make on-time deliveries to our customers.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Looking forward to fixing the McMaster-Carr API connection soon.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

BOM generation, product numbering, inventory control using unique part numbers and revision control.

  ### 45. Duro review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

I like how Duro has specific part numbers depending on the type of component that is added to the system. It makes it very easy to sort through and find components based on the part number. I also like how

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

When moving components to Production and having the components and documents be revision controlled, so far the method we have been using to rev up documents is to delete those documents, re-upload them, and input the new revision manually. It would be nice to have some kind of automatic revision system where if a document is uploaded under the same title, it will automatically be revved up and the previous revision would still be kept in the system in order to track the previous revisions.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro has been a great tool we use to manage our Bill of Materials. What I find most helpful when using Duro is being able to include the manufacturing part number, distributor part number, and links on where to source these parts from. Duro makes it very easy to export our BOM to our contract manufacturer to order parts because they can pull up the spreadsheet Duro exports and easily follow links to purchase those items.

  ### 46. Exploratory Phase but DURO is awesome.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The change orders are the most helpful..

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

At this moment I do not have any dislikes about DURO.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking changes in our designs.

  ### 47. Flexible PLM Tool with Great Upfront Support and Easy Onboarding

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The flexibility of the tool and its integration with OnShape and (coming soon) Altium are very nice. In the onboarding process, it seems all our needs are covered.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

There are no dislikes so far, just some things that will take some getting used to. I supposed this applies to any new tool that you have to spend time learning, however!

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to Duro, we didn't have a good system for cross-referencing parts across different products, which Duro makes easy. I'm also looking forward to their revision control features, which are extensive.

  ### 48. Duro Labs is a game-changer for hardware startups

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian C. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Intuitive UX and an incredibly responsive team. It has been easy to onboard new team members to Duro, and the workflows are agile and appropriate for our smaller team size as compared to other PLMs. We have seen the Duro team ship new features within just weeks of initial request, so the level of service and customer obsession from their part is truly unparalleled.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

We've had trouble tracking some of our costs over time, as it can be difficult to add shipping costs to components to understand how freight impacts overall product costs.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have moved our Bill of Materials out of Google Sheets, and we now have a single source of truth that can be used internally as well as externally. We also now have a clean workflow to approve engineering change orders that we use with our manufacturing partners.

  ### 49. Amazing tool. I have more time to design and less work to manage documentation and production files.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Márcio Q. | Head of Mechanical Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Duro?**

The description (i.e., the data structure) of the component/sub-assemblies.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

It would be great if thumbnails could be viewed in full screen.

**Recommendations to others considering Duro:**

You need to understand how the software works before you start using it. Don't try to learn everything along the way. Make sure that before using, you have a general understanding of how the software works, and how it can work for you.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More time to design. Less erros due obsolete files. Shared product libray (place where the info is updated).

  ### 50. Duro is our ideal entry-level PLM, having been designed with more care and smarts out-of-the-box.

**What do you like best about Duro?**

Duro was very easy to use out of the box, and makes a number of smart choices for the user. It's flexible enough for most hardware workflows, without requiring exhorbident set-up time or fees. The MPN/DPN import feature can be a game-changer for smaller organziations that source primarily through distribution. And we've run into very few headaches importing large BOMs into the PLM (unlike most other products). Kellan and his team are focused on building out a good user experience for all users, but also communicative about options for customization.

**What do you dislike about Duro?**

Some workflows/interfaces can be slightly sluggish, and it's not always obvious when there's a more convenient option elsewhere in the application. Although rare, there are some instances when Duro's defaults leave something to be desired. Users familiar with older and heavier PLM systems like Arena might miss some features, particularly around souring relationships and access control of third parties. But for a smaller organization, it's not hard to work around these things.

**What problems is Duro solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Duro is a great way to get assemblies and BOMs out of Excel/Google Sheets and into an environment where the team can better control, communicate and collaborate on them. We use Duro as the source of truth for our manufacturing files.
