What do you like best about Duplicati?

I love that it's open source, and I can use it however I like, depending on what my needs are or may become. If you're not a "tech" person, don't run away just yet! Yes, you have to open up the instructions and put the pieces together for this one, but it really isn't all that hard and I think it's worth the effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Duplicati?

Its a little barebones in the feature department. And if you're looking to share files and do all of that extra jazz...yeesh. Duplicati is more of a personal solution than anything else. Oh, and there' s no free storage for everyone here either. It manages your cloud backups, it doesn't host them anywhere. That's all on you to figure out and maintain. Recommendations to others considering Duplicati:

Again, this is an open source project, and with that comes an understanding that you can handle making decisions for yourself, and troubleshooting most things yourself as well. There is no support team taking your call at 2am when you mess something up on accident. The only people associated with the project are the developers who made it. That being said, open source projects tend to have communities of users who would really love to help you with any questions you may have, but they're end users like you. That could be good or bad, but again, there's no traditional customer service here, and I'm A-OK with that! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Duplicati solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before Duplicati, I was trying to do the whole NAS thing and run automated scripts on my computer to make sure things got backed up, and it was a PAIN! Now it just set it, and pretty much forget it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Duplicati?

Duplicati has a browser application that is compatible with Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer, to backup files locally without having to install a desktop application that consumes space and memory. I like its user interface that is simplistic and with one click you can run a backup. It also has an option to organize folders and selectively select files. What do you dislike about Duplicati?

A disadvantage of this software is the versioning of files, which does not update immediately and sometimes there may be duplication of data by human error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Duplicati is a very valuable tool, because it allows you to have backup copies with high protection standards, such as the AES-256. In addition, the fact that it is free software is also valued. I recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Duplicati solving and how is that benefiting you?

Duplicati is a very complete tool to keep our data safe. We benefit from the fact that we can protect backup copies and only provide access to authorized users. Another benefit is that with this software you can schedule automatic backups according to date and time so you don't have to worry about running them on your own. What do you like best about Duplicati?

Duplicati has great assistance from its customer service and a very easy implementation. What I like most is that this software works with protocols such as FTP or SSH, is under AES-256 encryption and is a free software. In addition, it saves space with incremental backups. Duplicati is our first option when storing and restoring files. What contributed most to our organization is that it is an open source software that allows us to customize its configuration to connect to our server directly. What do you like best about Duplicati?

Duplicati works with the most important cloud providers in the market, such as Dropbox, Google Drive and One Drive. I like that you also allow backups on local external servers. In addition, time is saved because this software creates a full backup at the beginning and then updates it by adding only the parts of the data that have changed. What do you dislike about Duplicati?

Customer service usually takes almost two days to answer a query. On the other hand, Duplicati still does not have a mobile application. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Duplicati?

The app is free and supports a lot of protocols. As well it can run on a lot of platforms(MacOS, Windows, Linux) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Duplicati?

- Hard to make the initial backup if it is big (so you required gradually increase backup size)

- A lot of bugs (backup interrupts too easily)

- Hard to set up right permissions so it will access all files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Duplicati:

I think the app is still very unfriendly for non-technical users. So, if you are ready to experience some bugs and have cheap storage for your backups, you should try it, it is free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Duplicati solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm using it to leverage my Yandex Disk space, as Russian speakers get it super cheap, but apps like Arq do not support WebDav which is required to connect to Yandex Disk). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Duplicati?

Free and open source is nice, so everyone can do backups. Support of the most popular remote storages and protocols. Ability to backup any folders you want and therefore do complete backup with system folders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Duplicati?

Network interruptions stop backup and it will continue only on the next scheduled run. The interface is unintuitive in some parts and sometimes overly complicated(for example not many people will schedule many different backups for a computer, but the interface is designed for that). Recommendations to others considering Duplicati:

If you are not satisfied with other options like BackBlaze(which doesn't backup all data) it should be a good choice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
