With the correct module, we can view and correct our data. We can find charges against us and reject them. However, we can not know where the data comes from. The least helpful thing is that no affordable module gives you access to the information or useful definitions. So when I was on the basic module that costs money, I was given the option of other paid modules. I had to take one of those, then call someone to turn the auto-renewal off. D&B Hoovers often has foreign companies that other services do not. I like how easy it is to search by contact, company, etc. from the main search bar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about D&B Hoovers? The message that "information may be incomplete" concerns me. I think the message should be consistent on all the material, updated or not. Print the red or yellow or green flag on the actual report! Also, it's not clear how often the batches are updated; is it annual? Also, email addresses for contacts are not consistent in the database. That concerns me, too! We rely on this database for updated contact information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering D&B Hoovers: It used to be the only source we'd use. Now we have other tools that we can check, but I think people still trust DnB Hoovers the most. It often has foreign companies no one else has. I wish it had an easier way to ask questions on a Customer Service phone line at the point of need. I do not like having to use credits to get the entities in a corporate tree. If I need to do this, I will go to another product like Mergent or S&P Capital IQ with no credits! I use the search by SIC code functionality to find niche businesses that we could supply to within specific geographic regions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about D&B Hoovers? I wish that there was a different payment plan. D&B is geared towards sales people who need specific contacts from a company. However as aforementioned, I use D&B for prospecting, and my list will often contain 3000 - 5000 results. I wish that I could download all those emails without using up all my credits, or that there was a different price model geared towards marketers rather than sales people. We also like how D&B Hoovers provides contacts including emails. The SIC and NAICS codes are helpful for researching leads as well along with revenue. Not all email addresses are provided nor accurate. Sometimes contacts are not accurate either. Some profile have limited marketability as well making it hard to find those profiles. I generate sales leads for my company and it is a very helpful for downloading lists of leads based on certain industries. I like how I can manipulate the data to fit certain criteria based on industry, revenue, SIC codes, geography, etc. I use it to look up contact names by profession/title.
