**What do you like best about D&B Hoovers?**

It is really intuitive to use and one can use it quite easily without previous knowledge or training.It has a really good search feature that makes it very easy to sift through data.It also has great customer support and they are very helpful if one gets stuck.

**What do you dislike about D&B Hoovers?**

The database is not regularly update and some of its data is outdated and unuseful. This is frustating to work with and wastes time.

**Recommendations to others considering D&B Hoovers:**

I would highly recommend this software.

large data base and relatively easy to search.

similar name and parent/child are not easily distinguished on the research result - could have designed better.

I got basic information about the company interested.  DB hoover provides large database that provide benefit.

**What do you like best about D&B Hoovers?**

I love that D&B Hoovers allows you to purchase complete contact info for B2B Data. That have a great application that allows you to easily navigate through the app to buy data sorting it based on your parameters you give.

**What do you dislike about D&B Hoovers?**

I dislike that all the data comes bundled together, meaning you have to buy not just the phone numbers but the emails and address that come with the contacts. These leads are also very expensive, but super high quality.

**Recommendations to others considering D&B Hoovers:**

I would highly recommend purchasing your leads from Hoovers, they are super high quality, but get pricey really fast!

**What problems is D&B Hoovers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With D&B Hoovers we use it to prospect new Leads and suppress our list we buy from other lead generation companies to see we can gather more information on them to close a deal. We also use D&B Hoovers to check the hygiene of our list, ensuring that the data we have is accurate.

FOR ALL TYPES OF COMPANIES, AND A GREAT USE FOR ALL WORK AREAS FROM FINANCE, SALES, PURCHASES FOR SEARCHING FOR NEW SUPPLIERS. SEARCH FOR COMPETITORS. UNDERSTAND THE MARKET. Simple to use. Easy to access and readily available data at your fingertips. It has tax ids, addresses, websites, and of course the DUNS#

About 50% of their database is outdated.

No doubt it’s a good product, but don’t expect much from it.

I found direct email addresses and phone numbers of decision makers which is very beneficial for us.

I am able to review a specific company, then look at their competitors and compare size of a market segment that I’m considering as a target market.  This cues me of you but if I’m successful with one or two of the top companies in that sector… How big can I make a business in this area.

**What do you dislike about D&B Hoovers?**

I think the interface could be improved and made a bit more user-friendly. Once you get used to it it’s fine, but if I’m trying to let a junior person do some work for me I end up having to help them quite a bit.

The best thing about using D&B hoovers is having access to additional client information that we would not normally have. The advanced company insights offered on the platform is vital to our sales reps closing tough deals.

**What do you dislike about D&B Hoovers?**

Our biggest challenge with D&B Hoovers is the quality of the contact lists available. Compared with other lead generation services and databases we have used, D&B's lists have a much lower success rate with our sales team.

The business problems solved with D&B Hoovers are access to an almost unlimited database and advanced insights into our clients businesses. The UCC add-on in particular is incredibly helpful for our business.

The comprehensive data that D&B has on different industries.  The hierarchies are great.

Information can be dated and not always accurate.  Company revenues and employee counts are not always accurate - especially with private companies.

The ability to pin specific searches to my dashboard and access them with ease.

Outdated contact info that makes my outreach efforts involve additional steps I did not think I needed when pulling the info.

**What problems is D&B Hoovers solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One issue all sales people have is finding qualified demographics of companies/individuals and coming up with large numbers of prospects to go after.  D&B solves that problem with their specified search criteria and easily allows me to pull email and phone numbers of decision makers in my line of service.

I like the ease of use. The database is intuitive and easy to use. Resetting and refining parameters is very simple, and results are always useful.

The companies I find don't always have the level of contact I am looking for.

I am getting industry contacts for our sales reps. I have to concentrate not only on geographical territories but also on several verticals.

you have to click into multiple screens to get the info compared to the old hoovers

That you have access to an entire database and can read data before downloading it.

Not all data was accurate however they let you swap it out

I've noticed the company phone number is not always correct. While I understand that it is very difficult to assess a private company's revenue, I think including some sort of message that indicates the degree of confidence in a revenue estimate.

Hoovers allows for our client managers to give very specific criteria for the type of clients they need to work with.  They can cast a large net and get a lot of clients or they can get very specific for specific projects and Hoovers can accommodate and quickly provide a report for that specific criteria.  This has reduced the amount of research time our client managers have to take figure out clients they need to target for their services and more time having one on one conversations with clients figuring out their needs.  Our client managers will go in already prepared with the knowledge that Hoovers has provided.

**What do you dislike about D&B Hoovers?**

There was very little to dislike.  The only thing I struggled with was the amount of credits I was allocated for getting the information I needed seemed limiting.  There should be an unlimited option.

I like how D&B Hoovers integrates so well with Salesforce. We believe that contextual selling is the best approach, so being able to find company specific information without several screen clicks was a positive.

**What do you dislike about D&B Hoovers?**

The Hoovers data lags about 1 year or so for our industry. They have a mechanism for correcting information that is not up-to-date, however, we are looking for Hoover to provide us with that guidance, not the other way around. I'd like to see Hoovers provide more timely changes coming from mergers and acquisitions.

The sales process is smooth and simple, however, they did not spend enough time explaining that the implementation is more for enterprise-type companies. We had some bumps in the road. In fairness to D&B, their sales, executive team, and support team responded quickly and was very helpful to get us on track.

We are trying to clean up Salesforce data that we entered from hurried sales reps and managers. In addition, we wish to find look-a-like prospects that match profiles for our existing clients.

The revenue on each company is the most useful, personally. We tend to use the list building as the number one value to us. It has helped us improve our targeting and really get a grasp on the reality of how many portential businesses we can penetrate in the market.

It's unclear when and where they get their information and updates from and when. One day we were on hoovers and the next my company no longer shows up. There's not a super quick update notification system on the most recent information dump. The price has often been a sore spot for my small company.  We use it for very specific things and go back and worth on if we should keep using hoovers if we only use a portion of the full benefits/features. We wish there were more tiered options.

I also use the company breakdown to find the decision making hubs for each company.

Account Management and Support teams from Hoovers have exceeded all expectations.   And yes we did have some problems.   They immediately recognized the issue, attacked the problem and are currently aggressively resolving the problem (both with short term and long term remedies).   

And most importantly, their database is accurate.  Yes it is smaller than others like ZoomInfo, but Hoovers has a process that ensures an exponentially higher higher level of quality (and I ethically prefer their methods).

If you want quality over quantity, this is the solution
If you value service and attention to your team, this is the solution.

As stated, the database of contacts needs to be larger, but I recognize that I am getting a much higher accuracy rate so it is manageable.
