Ducat Protocol is a Bitcoin Layer 1 credit and stablecoin platform that enables borrowing of dollar-pegged stablecoins against Bitcoin deposits while maintaining non-custodial control. Operating entirely on Bitcoin L1, the platform eliminates bridges, sidechains, and external chains, with loan logic enforced through Bitcoin Script. Bitcoin deposits are secured in 2-of-2 Taproot multisig vaults, where one key belongs to the borrower and the other to a Guardian group operating [redacted] receive USDC through automatic conversion. The platform charges a one-time minting fee with zero ongoing interest. Loan repayment and Bitcoin redemption occur within a single block. The protocol provides flexible collateral ratios and real-time monitoring dashboards. All transactions are recorded on Bitcoin for full verifiability. Liquidations trigger when collateral falls below established thresholds, utilizing Chainlink oracles and Guardian verification to provide redundancy in price feeds.
