The most impressive thing about DSN Software is that it isn’t a "one-size-fits-all" general dental system. It is purpose-built for high-volume specialty dental practices, specifically Oral Surgery, Periodontics, and Endodontics. As a specialty-focused Practice Management System (PMS), the clinical charting and EMR modules are tailored to surgical workflows. The deep integration with high-quality 3D imaging and CBCT scans without needing heavy on-premise hardware is a game-changer. The transition to the cloud-based platform has drastically reduced IT overhead while maintaining the speed and reliability of a desktop application. What do you dislike about DSN Software? Because the software is so feature-rich and specifically tuned for surgical environments, the initial configuration and onboarding take time. You have to invest the effort to customize the templates to your specific practice style. However, once that setup is complete, the efficiency gains far outweigh the initial learning curve. Before, we struggled with disconnected systems for imaging, scheduling, and billing. DSN centralizes everything: Referral Management: It makes tracking and communicating with referring doctors seamless, which is vital for an Oral Surgery or Perio practice. Multi-Location Efficiency: The ability to drag and drop appointments across different offices and have all clinical notes and images follow the patient instantly saves our staff hours of administrative work every week. Compliance & Security: Its cloud architecture ensures we are always up-to-date with security patches and HIPAA compliance without manual server maintenance. DSN’s cloud-based platform is purpose-built for oral surgery, and that’s what makes it stand out. Unlike generic dental systems, it understands the specific workflows, imaging requirements, and referral processes unique to oral surgery practices. The software is intuitive, fast, and reliable — clearly designed with both surgeons and staff in mind. One of the most helpful aspects is the seamless integration between scheduling, charting, and imaging, especially the ability to access high-quality 3D images from anywhere without the burden of outdated on-prem hardware. It’s dramatically improved the efficiency of consults, treatment planning, and patient education. The cloud flexibility has reduced our IT overhead, improved data security, and made it easier to scale our practice without infrastructure hassles. Everything from imaging uploads to insurance claims moves faster, and their responsive support team is always on point. DSN continues to roll out updates that enhance the product in meaningful ways. What do you dislike about DSN Software? While I really appreciate how much DSN has streamlined our operations, there is one area where there's room to grow. The onboarding process took a little longer than expected, mostly because we had to customize a few things to fit our specific workflows — but once we were up and running, it was smooth sailing. What problems is DSN Software solving and how is that benefiting you? DSN Software is solving some of the biggest operational challenges in running an oral surgery practice. It eliminates the need for clunky on-premise servers, disconnected imaging systems, and manual processes that slow down staff and frustrate patients. With everything centralized in the cloud — from scheduling and clinical notes to imaging and billing — our team works faster and more efficiently. It’s made it easier to manage multiple providers, reduce administrative overhead, and improve the patient experience with quicker check-ins, streamlined treatment planning, and faster claims processing. With our multi-location practice, it was always a pain to reschedule patients from one office to another - having to delete the appointment and then re-appoint to another office. Very repetitive and annoying! With DSN, you simply have to drag the appointment to the clipboard, open up the schedule to our office and drag the appointment. Everything else is carried over.
