## About Druva Data Security Cloud
Over the past decade, data risks have diversified, shifting data protection’s role from a passive last line of defense to an active data partner in responding to and recovering from diverse data risks. Traditionally, backup solutions aimed to secure against system risks such as hardware and application failures. However, with cloud making infrastructure redundant and applications becoming more resilient, risks have shifted from infrastructure to the data layer. While security tools play a critical role in creating defensive layers to secure the enterprise perimeter, some threats inevitably breach these defenses. Legacy backup approaches typically resorted to brute force recovery, but modern incident response demands a thorough analysis of the breach's scope, impact, and remediation strategies before recovery can occur. Data security is essential in this process, providing deep data insights that, when combined with perimeter security data, drive comprehensive and effective data-powered incident response. Druva bolsters enterprise data defense with the Data Security Cloud, a 100% SaaS, fully-managed platform that enhances protection, monitoring, and recovery. Druva ensures secure and clean recovery through air-gapped immutable backups, and advanced anomaly detection facilitates early threat identification. The platform's integrated response capabilities allow organizations to assess and address threats promptly, and bounce back to clean data without loss. By combining these features, Druva complements existing perimeter defenses, providing a seamless, comprehensive solution that simplifies the response and recovery process and ensures robust protection against modern threats. About Druva Druva is the leading provider of data security solutions, empowering customers to secure and recover their data from all threats. The Druva Data Security Cloud is a fully managed SaaS solution offering air-gapped and immutable data protection across cloud, on-premises, and edge environments. **What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

How easy it is to manage through the web portal. The cloud portion of it makes it great that we don't have to host anything and it all can be easily managed just by logging in. Also it is fast and up to date. The support and implementation team have also been great. Our account rep Daniel Rodriquez has also been fantastic and has always made sure we have everything we need as a customer. The Druva team overall has been very responsive, courteous and helpful and would definitely recommend them.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

I wish you were able to be more selective about what to back up on the workstation. It seemed a little difficult to put in logic around what files should be backed up and what shouldn't. Besides that I think it is very user friendly and makes it easy to manage everything.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

I would play around with it to see what you can do with the settings and see how it fits with your organization's needs.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We recently had an employee's machine wiped too soon and we lost critical data. This wouldn't happen again with inSync since we would know have that machine being backed up and would have a restore point in the cloud even if it was wiped physically. Also we have one workstation that we essentially use as a server to host a very small application. Since we are not able to back up this workstation with Phoenix due to it not having a server OS, we can use InSync to back up this workstation and can use this to restore the application should it crash.

 ### 33. Decent Solution to Protect Your Data

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jorge V. | Network Administrator/Office 365 Administrator/Video Production/Photography, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

We found Druva inSync is a descent solution for mid size organizations looking a central backup solution. Can become a bit of a headache for larger organizations due to occasional issues with agents. This could be easily overcome if Druva support steps us a bit and backup client is thoroughly tested for bugs and incompatibilities before release.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

As mentioned earlier there quite some room for improvement such as Backup agent reliability, Support needs some improvement and reporting.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Druva inSync is being used and has been our backup solution of choice to protect all our users data on corporate owned machines for both onsite and remote employees across the organization. Aside for a number of issues backing up OneDrive for Business and local backup client stop backing up randomly for several users for a period of time, eventually these issues got resolved. Biggest benefit is being able to manage backup from one central location.

 ### 34. Always have your data ready!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Druva inSync gives you more options than Google Sync and OneDrive. Being able to have a robust amount of options in the cloud for a user or admin is great. Druva makes it easy for a user to restore data in a time where everyone is working from home is awesome.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The cost is a bit high even for a small company to use. The cost difference between what is out there and what Druva provides could be reduced considerably. Even when trying to buy licenses we were told initially we had to buy in packs, so as a small company who only needs to add 1 or 2 every once and awhile becomes hard.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

- Make sure you set your settings before deploying to your company. Obviously this should be a no brainer by default, but it is highly recommended.

- A lot of companies that allow you to backup to the cloud do not have the settings that Druva gives you. OneDrive and Google Drive do not give you everything that Druva has. Make sure you set your admin users up a part from the regular user.

- As an ISO 27001 certified company it is nice to see Governance. Being able to track audit trails or DLP if necessary is a good feature to have.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have all of our laptops syncing to the cloud so even if we need to a restore it is seamless. Ensuring everything is in the cloud due to faulty hardware on a laptop/desktop is paramount.

 ### 35. Excellent Backup Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Super easy to use, everything you need is in the Dashboard. One or two clicks and you're where you need to be. No need to click on each tab to find what you're looking for.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

We only use the inSync however our dashboard loads the phoenix and CloudRanger which we don't use. sometimes it takes some time to load,

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backup size and with endpoint devices. We were hesitant to get a new backup software during Covid and everyone working from home. However, the initial backup was a success. Users were not aware of the full backup initial copy. We were able to throttle the bandwidth and select backup locations by location. We have users from India backing up to Mumbai and there were no issues.

 ### 36. Insync from Druva very easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anup B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Ease of client setup and deployment and granular selection of file types and further there is legal hold and governance without 365 E3 license

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

a bit odd yo you have get a security code to add the software to the client and not just a simple client install and login to portal by admin.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

Setting up users and groups is easy to manage , and connecting 365 requires some initial work but once you know the steps its easy and simple to add all email users. Device backup is someone longer process than anticipated but all worked out fairly smoothly.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

provides redundancy and backup for our cloud email accounts and onedrive and sharepoint, this provides a level of risk mitigation.

 ### 37. Druva Phoenix from School Distric aspect

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brett S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

One of the best parts of working wth Druva Pheonix was (not lying) Pre-Sales. When I was shopping around I had three candidates (one being Druva) and won the bid. Why did they win. PRICING was so attractive for a school setting and the company understood my needs in a district with limited funding. They were so creative they gave more functions to allow the migration to happen on our terms. Lastly, the Pre sales engineer assisted (literally hand held) how to setup and made sure all aspects were covered. This is stellar service in it self! As for the product it just works!

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

At first I did not care for the CREDIT model. Now that I have been partnered with Druva for almost two months, I have a much better understanding how this works. Sometimes talking to support can be challenging since they are over sea, but that is nothing new to cry about when in IT.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

I would recommend incorporating another package with the AWS side. Now have the customer have to spnin up a AWS account blah blah blah.....Currently because funding was not available for DR during pre-sales we had to opt out) I'm sure Druva has something up their sleeve (I hope) : )~

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One issue I had with my last Backup solution was DR stand up. Even though I am still in the infancy of my Druva solution I do plan to utilize the AWS spin up in the cloud.

 ### 38. Easy to backup my laptop and desktop backup.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2021

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Easy to backup my laptop and desktop backup.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The CPU is a little higher during backup

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

Easy to implement in organization for 10,000 + users

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Taking daily backup on to tape or disk and restore is very simple

 ### 39. Excellent VMWare backup solution with tested restore process

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

I specifically use Druva for VMWare vCenter, though it can also be used without vCenter, i.e. directly on ESXI hosts. I like the simple and straightforward setup of Druva proxies. The restore process is not perfect but pretty close (much better than other solutions). Druva also offers the ability to use multiple proxy VM's for increased redundancy. Lastly, these proxy VM's are prebuilt by Druva so deployment is very quick.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The cost if obviously a fairly big pain point for some organizations. I think Druva is scalable up to a certain level, and then building or buying a backup solution + using S3 buckets becomes more price effective.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backup solution with the ability to make VM's highly transportable.

 ### 40. Comprehensive Endpoint and Mobile Backup Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Backups occur in the background with no impact to the end user. The product suite is comprehensive and covers end point devices to include laptops, desktops, smartphones, and tablets. Data loss prevention tools, compliance settings and secure backups to a FedRamp-authorized cloud make this tool essential for backing up critical data especially for government customers. Very easy to setup and deploy in an environment with federated search capabilities when responding to e-discovery requests. The product integrates well with MDM solutions to include MobileIron and has integrations with SAML and ADFS to federated login. inSync also has integrations with Splunk for SIEM log management to integrate with any process workflows that are currently in use within your organization. Not having to maintain software or hardware was another benefit since this is an entirely SaaS product. Another thing that I liked about Druva inSync was that it did have an intuitive user interface, which was easy to use and understand from the get go.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Initial setup took some getting used to but the learning curve was minimal. Having an understanding of the process and workflow was easy to follow and the options for customization were endless, which may overwhelm some, but overall it was better to have more options than none. The OS migration and data refresh did take some getting used to initially, but once you get the hang of it, the process was easy to use and follow. More reporting/alerting capabilities would be appreciated, but the overall user interface was intuitive and easy to work with.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

My recommendations would be to plan and gather requirements from all your stakeholders to include user support, security, policy, and legal. Once you gather their requirements in terms of data retention and storage, it will make implementing and setting the settings in the admin console a breeze.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems we were solving with Druva inSync was an enterprise backup solution for endpoint devices. In addition, the benefits of e-discovery and federated search made this an ideal solution. The benefits were realized whenever a user's hard drive failed and we had to do a local restore from backup. The user was up and running in no time with all settings and data files in tact minimizing the time to restore to just hours.

 ### 41. Druva Insync Complete Backup Portfolio

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Ease of Integration and Compatibility with other deployed product

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Does not provide any flexibility to restore from other cloud product

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

End to end backup solution from user perspective

 ### 42. Druva insync is easy to use. User friendly GUI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Faizal I. | System Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2021

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Customization of backup profiles. Can create backup profiles according to our requirements

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Take little bit time delay for restoration.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

Very easy and powerful cloud backup solution

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pst and ost restoration.. easy user profile restoration.

 ### 43. Druva Phoenix Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 24, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

I found the ease of setup and monitoring were great features . The ability to test and then view the status in a single pane was a big help once things were implemented.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The backup restoration procedure and requirements are greater and more time consuming than I would prefer but it's acceptable. Unfortunately I don't know of a way to make it happen more quickly. That's just something that is to be expected with any kind of software like that.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

I would definitely suggest people who are looking to solve the remotely managed backup requirements, especially of endpoints to take a look at this software.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote backup of systems and endpoints was the issue that we needed to solve. Being able to centrally manage the endpoints especially was a benefit that we were lacking prior to using this software.

 ### 44. A very good backup solution which is easy to deploy and manage.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rick E. | VP - It Infrastructure, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

We like how simple it is to deploy and manage. It also places a limited load on the client's processor. The cloud options are also a welcome addition. We like the data discovery and retention as well.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

There isn't anything we dislike about this product. It has been used many times to recover critical files for our users.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

Make sure to look at all of the cloud options. There are a number of things you can do with the backups once they are in place.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a need to maintain backups for all of our travelers. Druva makes it easy to happen while people are on the road. Our support team also uses Druva backups to help build new client computers for existing users.

 ### 45. My test Trial of Druva amongst other products

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ming L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Druva insync seems to adopt a marketing strategy by "contacting the customer".

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

To be honest, most IT products on the market offers free trial/or test before purchase, up to a point, trial taking time, and as I work in large Org, testing out is part of my job but waste lot of time.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

sort of tools that can get the job done.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To me, the entire usage is straight forward, and things get done 'first take'
The overall feeling is 'if user just want a back up, why some other products make it so complex... so complicated".

 ### 46. SaaS data backup at its best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The company has a good support team. Easy implementation and administration. The product offers many good features such as legal hold and ransomware scan.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The client's normal backup ran for the first time takes a long time and there is no way to know the data transfer performance.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Druva solves my company's data backup solution after COVID19. Everyone may backup her laptop data to the cloud directly without connecting to the on-prem system that requires a company VPN connection.
The data encryption feature also helps secure our user laptop data.

 ### 47. Great product being discontinued

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dom J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 18, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The ability to point clients to a local data storage option provides companies with the best control and information governance. Centralised management of clients and data assists system administrators to deploy and manage large network deployments with ease. Browsing of historical data and prior versions is simple and users can initiate their own data recovery at a highly granular level. Access to technical support is relatively easy and they are quite responsive.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The current version of the client that we use which allows for storage of data on an on premise server is being phased out early 2021, meaning that the only option available will be to backup to a cloud service. This is disappointing and makes it largely a clone of every other 'cloud backup' product out there (Mozy, iDrive, etc). A bug exists with licensing where the client floods the network with connection requests to the license server; if the connection to the server cannot be established it crashes the local network.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

Consider whether backup of data to an on premise server is a requirement. If so then this product will not meet your requirements from next year.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

inSync provides us with a user accessible local data storage and backup option which is easy to use and manage. This assists with users switching between machines and hotdesking, as well as data recovery in the event of loss or damage of EUC devices. The ability of users to initiate their own data restore and recovery results in a significant decrease in tickets to the Service Desk to perform these tasks.

 ### 48. Druva is so helpful

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The simplicity and architecture is great

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The initial setup is kind of a pain and getting around the learning curve.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I initially setup druva, I had set it up to backup a log file. Unknowingly I created a huge problem for our backups as they were getting too large to maintain.

 ### 49. Seamless transition to cloud based backup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marshall O. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

How easy it was to set up to very quickly get our Office 365 system and all email accounts backed up. The onboarding for servers was also painless.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

The time it takes to back up some of our servers, our large data stores are not completing in the necessary window. This is just for initial backup, but we would like to see a progress bar or something indicating how far along it is on the initial backup so we know based on the current window, it will take x number of windows to complete the initial backup of the system.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

Do the POC and see if it will work for your workloads. The ease of install and management was what put Druva over the top.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We lacked backup of our Office 365 environment and with the adoption of MS Teams we needed something to protect the documents being placed in the online system. We have also been struggling with backing up some of our data servers because every snapshot would do a full backup due to how the files save into the system. We had different systems for backup based on office size. Druva allowed us to consolidate the backup into one product that is very easy to manage.

 ### 50. Phoenix it is not a myth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robert E. | Assistant Director of IT, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

Druva Phoenix is a solid solution for your Server Backups and DR strategy. Wether you have a physical, virtual or hybrid infrastructure it covers them all in one management portal.

**What do you dislike about Druva Data Security Cloud?**

I have yet to find a dislike for Druva Phoenix. If I had to chose one I would say it is the fact I waited so long to decide to try it.

**Recommendations to others considering Druva Data Security Cloud:**

Druva InSync will protect yourself entire endpoint management and cover all types of devices and users.

**What problems is Druva Data Security Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Backing up our servers both physical and virtual. Automating these backups and having a schedule report to keep proactive on backups and DR.
