DROPS Datachanger is a critical data management solution for IBM i designed to automate the versioning, tracking, and deployment of application settings, configuration data, and other critical data across development, test, and production environments. The solution brings a “Data as Code” approach to IBM i DevOps by managing critical data changes in the same way as software components. It enables teams to automatically deploy data changes together with application releases, eliminating error-prone manual updates and helping maintain consistency across environments. DROPS Datachanger provides version control and a complete audit trail for critical data changes. Teams can identify what data was modified, when it was changed, and by whom. Critical data can be defined at the field, record, or data area level and grouped by version for greater control. The solution also provides comparison and rollback capabilities, allowing teams to identify differences and quickly restore critical data to a previous version in the event of an error. By synchronizing critical data updates with application deployments, DROPS Datachanger helps organizations reduce production risks and downtime, improve traceability and compliance, and integrate critical data management into their IBM i DevOps and Continuous Delivery processes.
