The main positive to using Dropbox Sign was that my clients appreciated not needing to create an account to sign documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. As someone that exclusively works with government agencies and not-for-profit organizations, I'm required to use products with a certain level of security, trust, and verifiability in the work that I do. Numerous times whilst using Dropbox Sign, the authenticity and security of contracts and other documents have been questioned. For a number of reasons, I've had documented that had already been signed require edits. The fact that Dropbox Sign documents still retain their signing certificate after editing eliminates their credibility. If it weren't for the Dropbox name associated with it and general, basic familiarity, I would have been required to have hundreds of documents resigned. Hellosign/Dropbox sign has poor email delivery. After sending a contract to sign many customers say they can't find the email in spam or anywhere in inbox. It's super frustrating. The best thing about this is that it automatically saves the signed version directly to your Dropbox in the same folder, so there is no need to download a copy each time. There is also a feature that allows you to notify a third party when the document is signed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign)? I have used this program for over a year. The older version worked well, but ever since the update that was installed a couple of months ago, there are so many glitches that are still unresolved. 1) When you drag any box (date signed, full name, textbox, etc.) over to put it on a line where you or your client should fill in any information, the text automatically appears in an oversized textbox, with the text floating in the top left corner, never actually on the line. When you hover the box over the line, it appears to fit directly where you want it, but when you place it, the text floats up to the top left, off of the line, so you have to adjust its position every time after first placing it. 2) I always type my name as the signature. In the edit box it shows up fine, but a tiny bit of the first letter is always cut off when I place my signature on the actual page. 3) The initials are always WAY too large to be put on a line the size of an average document. I resize them every time. 4) The copy/paste function is messed up. For example, I use contracts that have a line for clients to initial at the bottom of each page. I resize the initials on the first page then hit Ctrl-C. As I scroll down to the other pages in my document, my screen has to be in a very specific place on the page in order for the CTRL-P function to work. For example, if I am showing the top part of a page but the bottom right corner, where I want the initials box to be copied, is not in view for lack of scrolling down all the way, it will not paste. If I scroll down to where I can just barely see the bottom right corner, it works. However, if I scroll too far past the bottom right corner, barely onto the other page, the entire document goes blank. When this happens, I have to CTRL-Z to go back, at which point the paste command no longer works, and neither does the copy command when I try to go back up to copy the original intials box. The annoying fix in this case is to undo the attempted paste, create a new initials box since it no longer allows me to copy the first one, resize it because as I mentioned it is always disproportionately large for the page, hoping that it is close enough in size to the first box I created, and go down from there to paste it on each of the following pages. There should be an easy duplicate on each page option, or at the least, these glitches should be fixed. 5) I wish there were a way to view any document I pull up in a certain preset format. For example, because of the huge size of the signature box, I usually opt for "Fit to Width" at the top right. This is just another step I need to take with every document that could be easily fixed with preferred settings options. 6) I would like to see a quick option to add lines for signature for those contracts that I receive that do not already have signature lines. What do you dislike about Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign)? We have had several outages and issues with signings not firing off all signed evernt. Today we had a complete outage that lasted most of our business day and had a critical impact on our business operations. There is no ability to escalate and help desk response times are very poor. I reported the outage issued at 11:52 AM PDT. There was zero response until 15:51 PM PDT. At 16:40 PDT the Dropbox Sign status page was updated that the issue had been resolved. I didn't get a response to my ticket until 19:42 PDT after my business had closed for the day and the damage is done with our critical operational reliance on the product. Not at all what I expect when I pay $24K/ year upfront and don’t even have the option to pick up the phone and talk to support on a critical outage and have to wait almost 8 hours to hear back on resolution that happened 3 hours earlier. About 95% of the time, I get one box placed, try to shift it slightly to better align the box, and then it pops right back to the first spot it was placed in. The same thing happens when I try to re-size the box as well. It's frustrating to have to close completely out of my browser several times just to resize or move a box. When we first starting using HelloSign, it met our needs perfectly. It is a fairly straightforward, lightweight e-signature platform. The system has expanded since we first subscribed, and now features a much broader range of development tools. Our needs have remained modest, and up until the product completely failed recently, it handled all our contract signatures. Ultimately, the most compelling part of HelloSign for us is the value for money, as unlike its main competitor, you can have 5 users for one base price that is 1/5 the cost of the alternative. Here is the heart of my low score: the product recently stopped working and we have now been struggling for a week to fix our contracts. In summary, contracts froze in the browser while being signed, and then we had trouble editing the templates, and then we couldn't delete the templates, and then I sent out a template that had been created 2 years ago, and there were multiple copies attached! You use e-signature software to, no surprise, get signatures on agreements. Almost always, these are binding legal agreements, so having robust and 'enterprise-grade' software is absolutely critical in my opinion. When a product like this fails, it creates significant operational issues. When the e-signature process froze the browser, it reflected poorly on our organization. I would have thought that support would have been a bit more attentive, but instead, I have now spent a week trying to get some concrete direction on fixing the problems (multiple serious issues). Support consists of 1 email daily, and has consisted largely of me trying to send video screencaptures, and then a long back and forth to verify my email. In summary, it has been extremely frustrating, and we have been in limbo without our e-signature service available. We are waiting to see a resolution, but have ultimately decided we will leave HelloSign for their larger rival in order to get better support, as our needs are going to expand rapidly in the future. What do you dislike about Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign)? My main issue is that I cancelled my free trial but in a month they proceeded to charge me 600$!!! When I contacted them about this error they told me they would refund me and asked me to confirm my card details. I confirmed with them (this was all over email since they refused to give me any sort of phone number to chat with someone) and instead of getting a 600 refund they charged me ANOTHER 600$. For what I have no clue. Of course after this I get zero response from them via email so I have contacted my bank to get it reversed. It is not that great of a product if this is what you are going to have to deal with if you sign up for it.
