Questionable business integrity remains a problem. **Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Legal Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022 **What do you like best about Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign)?** The user interface is fairly well designed and intuitive, which is nice. But in this Year of Our Lord 2022, that's now par for the course. I also like that we've been able to integrate with Clio, which we use to manage our firm software. But again, e-sign integrations are now a dime a dozen. **What do you dislike about Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign)?** The ability to manage templates via integration isn't possible, which is too bad. In fact, much of the functionality appears to be lost with a subpar integration. I remained concerned with the company's integrity with what appears to be a trap subscription model. In 2020, I accidentally signed in (using Google) with my personal email address instead of my firm address (both use Google logins, and I just clicked on the wrong one). It prompted me to pay for the annual subscription, which I had already been paying for. I assumed it was just because it was due again. I used the service in connection with that personal address exactly one time. Otherwise, I went on using it in association with my business address as normal. A year later, I immediately noticed the duplicate subscription problem when the prepaid annual subscription associated with my personal address automatically renewed. The company refused to refund any of the $360 ($180 for both years), even though it was very obvious that I wasn't using that account and had already been paying for another. Meanwhile, HelloSign advertises that one of their business practices is that the "do the right thing - even when no one is looking." **Recommendations to others considering Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign):** Beware of subscription model **What problems is Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign) solving and how is that benefiting you?** The basic benefits of electronic signature that has now become commonplace and widely accepted. Like, A LOT. 6 times out of 10, when I try to access a signed contract, it doesn't work. It just takes you to a blank page. It might be browser-related or not. Emailed the customer support a few times regarding the black outs and they respnd 24 hrs later, saying "the problem was fixed". Well, 24 hrs later it better be?! However we did have instances when we needed a fast signature and the platform was down and we have to use other platforms. This is seemes to be getting woorse not better so I will be looking towards a a different solution as it's unacceptable. Also, a massive pain if you have to make any changes to an agreement. If the document's layout is not any different (for example, added a comma or changed a number), the system should leave in place the dozens of signature and initial fields that you placed earlier, but no, you have to start over, which is mind-numbing. **Recommendations to others considering Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign):** Don't do it. Look for an alternative. It is nice to have all past documents stored in one place and searchable with the team documents filter (need admin permission for this). **What do you dislike about Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign)?** The admin capabilities for security and privacy for different business functions are not as robust as some other e-sig tools. You have to pay for extra templates and the tool doesn't integrate well with Salesforce or G-suite, which makes sense as it is a Dropbox company product. **What problems is Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign) solving and how is that benefiting you?** Core e-signature problems- getting a legally binding document signed electronically, however my enterprise business needs are not being solved (automation, scale, etc) so I will be moving on to another product. ### 4. Field creation and duplication is easy to do and helps save time. **What do you dislike about Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign)?** We encountered issues with team members being able to access templates in 2 separate occasions, we are based in South Africa so even accounting for the time difference, the support was incredibly slow. **What problems is Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign) solving and how is that benefiting you?** Paperless solutions during Covid has been invaluable, as well as making it easier for our clients to sign on the go. ### 5. Handful of users for what competitors charge for 1. We also like the Hubspot integration and Google Docs integration. Howewver, these are buggy and don't always work. **What do you dislike about Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign)?** Editing contracts is a major hurdle. Any revision requires a re-upload of the entire document, required fields etc. Cumbersome. The Google Docs integration is great in theory, but is super buggy. Half the time we don't know if a contract was indeed uploaded and sent. **Recommendations to others considering Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign):** Basic tool with simple contract signings. Advanced editing, login, notifications are lacking. **What problems is Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign) solving and how is that benefiting you?** E-signature for contracts. Does its job well for simple contracts that require minimal changes, editing, back and forth, or parties involved. **What do you dislike about Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign)?** It does not allow for edits on the contracts easily. After using other similar programs like DocuSign and Right Signature, I find this is a big flaw of HelloSign. I often find myself needing to delete the previous document and recreating a new one to make the changes I want appropriately. Cancelled documents also does not get saved. **Recommendations to others considering Dropbox Sign (formerly HelloSign):** If you are just a small startup company or simple contracts, this is a good solution for you.
