DriveImage XML has been my go-to software for archiving an old PC. It's easy to use, has more than one means of making sure that it gets all the data, it's fast, and, for home users, there is a free version. Typically, when I setup a new PC for someone, I will use something like Windows Easy Transfer to copy user data from the old PC to the new PC. After that, I will use DriveImage XML to backup the old PC and I will give this backup to the user. If anything was not transferred in the initial copy, the user can easily extract it using DriveImage XML. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about DriveImage XML? When DriveImage XML creates a backup, it does it in 2 steps. If you aren't familiar with it, you will think that you are nearly done with the whole process when the first part is almost complete. Also, I make a copy of the image file for my data. I usually use this tool with my files recovery in case I lost my data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about DriveImage XML? All of the files take some time to restore and the images files are in XML format which it is not easy for me to convert to any other format.
