I have a shared unlimited plan and can build as many sites as I need with unlimited bandwidth, and I can also set up managed email accounts for free with any site. Dreamhost's shared hosting also allows me to customize the setup for each website without feeling mired in code and tech. Accessing the control panel and making primary changes to the site structure could not be easier. It's also the primary hosting platform I recommend for not tech-savvy clients because it's intuitive to use. The support team is fantastic regardless of your level of experience with hosting and website management. **What do you dislike about DreamHost?** It's shared hosting, so if you need more dedicated resources and control, you won't get it with shared hosting. So frustrating that my business is shuttered because they changed something. If you change service levels to monthly during the last month of 3-year term, expect a much higher monthly bill that takes effect immediately as they will cancel your 3-year term period with pro-ration of pre-payment to a monthly much higher rate. It began with unexpected servers crashes which quickly became daily and unresolvable. In about a week we dropped from years of stability to every-day troubleshooting to keep our site online. And with each crash, we learn our server was running out of memory but tech support seemed less specific about the causes or instability. Instead, they chose to up-sell us on a new “Openstack” server deployment, promising better caching and performance -- at the same price. We were thrilled with how fast we were operational on the new 'bionic' server but not happy to discover this upgraded server would actually cost us 35% more annually, that the memory configurations were no different, and ultimately the server crashes would continue. For the next 10 weeks, we meticulously followed Dreamhost's advice to optimize our site build, to employ different caching strategies, to minify, to defer code, to better optimize images, and reduce page loading sizes. We did everything required to get us to an A-rating with GTmetrix but the server crashes continued while Dreamhost offered us no effective assistance with resolving what became a maintenance nightmare. The final straw was learning that DH tech support was aware of a bug in the new servers that prevented some MySQL DBs from restarting after a server crashes. When we migrated our site off of Dreamhost servers, they still hadn't isolated the problems or taken any ownership of them. **What problems is DreamHost solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our intention is to showcase and sell our scientific research equipment like we have been doing for 28 years. ### 26. The capacity for unlimited traffic on the Shared Unlimited plan makes my website open to any amount of traffic I can summon. Dreamhost had no problem using my domain though it is located on a different saver of the domain company I bought it from. You can add additional sub domains and register new ones. DreamHost also helps you with webdesign if you don't already have someone to do that for you. They also have additional functions for faster speed for your website at an additional cost of $13.75 which is a great deal! **What do you dislike about DreamHost?** I notice DreamHost does not have a place to upload a profile photo. That would be helpful to include my photo. Also, it would be helpful for DreamHost to provide a free service to those who are on a budget regarding upgrading to WordPress plugins, as well as Mitigation Services. The charges are at least $99. Although it's a one-time fee each time you need an upgrade you have to pay $99. **Recommendations to others considering DreamHost:** I recommend comparing one or two other domain software companies and see the differences. Vast differences between the others and DreamHost.
