I've been impressed by the combination of a stable platform and the ability to get needed services and support without being inundated with promotional advertising. Our site gets moderate but frequent traffic that is highly specialized with emphasis on job posting and professional development information for California educational leaders, particularly school district superintendents. We've been very satisfied with our DreamPress hosting and the experience using DreamHost's proservices. There were times when the time difference between my location and that of the design team were challenging, but we were able set up protocols that minimized the differences. We have a relatively simple site that is the primary resource for our clients (School district leaders seeking career advancement and professional learning opportunities). We have a small support team with little in-depth tech experience. Even my background as the site admin is at an advanced hobbyist level. So... we need dependable hosting and the ability to get more detailed technical support when problems arise and when we wanted to update an even simpler site that what we have now.
