## Draw.io Reviews
  ### 1. Very customizable, but difficult to move with many elements on the screen

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

The components are highly customizable and come with predefined diagrams, which helps you not have to start a diagram from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

When you have several elements on the screen, the elements can get mixed up and it becomes complex to move them easily.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create diagrams quickly, send the files. Draw to colleagues and they can open them without losing the format and they can also be exported in multiple formats. Once the diagram is finished

  ### 2. Free and Simple for Basic Diagrams, Laggy for Complex Tasks

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hariprasad S. | Solution Architect, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

I like that Draw.io is a free browser-based tool and is simple to use. I also use it specifically for AWS infrastructure drawing tools.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

Some stencils were not available in Draw.io that were part of Visio. Also, if it's large complex drawings, it lags due to the nature of being browser-based.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Draw.io for AWS infrastructure drawings. It's free, browser-based, and simple.

  ### 3. Distracting "Saving..." warning

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2023

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

It (the standalone version) is fairly easy to use and quite similar to Gliffy.
Looks good, except for the unnecessary "saving..." messages.
Fast.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

* If autosaving is enabled, there is a distracting message "Saving..." in the top bar. Disabling autosaving just makes it even worse, a red alert box saying "Unchanged saves". This is poor UX, especially as there seems to ne no way to disable it.

* Grouping objects and moving groups doesn't work as expected.

* Errors in the Swedish translation. For example, "Saving" is incorrectly translated into "Sparande", which means Savings. The correct translation would be "Sparar".

* Contact support is a complicated and time-consuming process.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It replaces Gliffy, but then again not as I need to find a distraction-free tool to replace draw.io.

  ### 4. Perfect for making diagrams and moodboards

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura M. | Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

How easy is to create diagrams and moodboards to send to our clients. Also I like the best how easily and faster is the tool. I create diagrams very directly and it is a very intuitive program.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

I don't like how you can share the diagrams with users. I miss some social media utilities.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating wireframes and sketches is very simple

  ### 5. Simple but with several problems

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mauro Javier G. | Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit Physician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

It has the necessary functionalities and it is a simple and easy to use application. No prior learning is required, as it is very intuitive. The integration with Google Drive is a plus point as it allows integration with all products in the suite.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

It requires authorization several times from google and many times it is without connection and the data is not saved in real time, so you have to be especially careful and keep saving each time. It is slow to start.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Although we do not use it regularly, in many cases it is useful in our company to make different diagrams, used both internally and to work with clients. Its ease of use and integration with Google tools is the most valued, although it does not always work as it should

  ### 6. Basic Tool for Process Mapping

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kenneth F. | Product Designer and Developer, Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2017

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

I like that Draw.io allows for collaboration among multiple users, as long as they have Google accounts.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

I dislike the fact that they is an inability to drag cursor to select multiple objects. This forces me to shift + click every object I want to select, which is extremely inefficient.

**Recommendations to others considering Draw.io:**

This is a good tool for basic process mapping. For wireframing, I would recommend other tools like Invision or Adobe XD.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Draw.io mainly to create process maps or site maps that need stakeholder feedback. This is where the collaboration feature is useful for my work.

  ### 7. Awescome free draw tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

The great is that you can use it for free and has many possibilities to draw, also some signs and advanced options.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

Generally the main connection to save it all with google or on a other cloud.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Drawing some easy and simple things, possible from everywhere and every PC or tablet with inernet connection.

  ### 8. Useful for diagrams in Google Docs

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

The integration with Google Docs is very good.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

The UI is not the best, it feels a little bit sloppy to develop fast diagrams.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to build diagrams.

  ### 9. Powerful but limited

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danny J. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

Contains many options for making layouts and drawings from a slew of existing images, as well as letting you add your own images easily.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

Workflow can be difficult at times, including using layers. Text editing can sometimes be problematic and not appear as intended. The biggest problem is reaching the maximum number of objects in a file, causing it to be unusable.

**Recommendations to others considering Draw.io:**

Quick and easy to use, so if you try it out and it does what you want, then it's worthwhile to continue usage. If you find it restricting and too limited, then it may be better to look elsewhere.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provided a more thorough way to make basic wireframes and mockups compared to other drawing tools. Allowed us to import into documents and edit each other's files without needing to install a program.

  ### 10. Draw.io is great

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dustan N. | Freelance Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2018

I love that I can do it directly on the internet and save files directly to my google drive. It also has a great library of shapes and other elements that I don't have to build from scratch.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

The interface seems a little bit tricky to understand. I also had a very hard time learning how to zoom in and out of documents.

**Recommendations to others considering Draw.io:**

Watch youtube to learn more about the product!

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We typically use it to create business plans and other infographic type documents

Nice flow diagram software made by Google. I have used it to draw process flow diagram of the projects pipeline I work on. I gets the work done. Easy to use

It doesn't have a lot of components. I wish I could have better shapes and many different design to make my process flow eye appealing

Work on design and user experience. Let's have better shapes and color and ease of use

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pedro J. C. | R&D Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

The best of draw.io is that it is available online. You can use it for a fast need of a simple diagram. It is also easy to use and can export the drawings to high resolution PNGs.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

If you make a more complex design it start to be very slow and even can cause Google Chrome to crash. It is not good for a professional use.

**Recommendations to others considering Draw.io:**

Use libreOffice Draw

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used for small diagrams or draws.

  ### 13. Does what's expected but not much above it

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

The ease of connecting two boxes is my favorite part of draw.io.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

I think the site is lacking some good design aspects - it would make it more appealing to the user audience.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used the program for class projects, and I've just realized that it's nice to be able to create a chart so quickly.

  ### 14. Very quick to start using

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

You can have diagrams without needing to register or log in.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

The worst part is that when you transfer the diagrams to Word or PowerPoint, they are exported as images, so to edit the diagram again you have to use drawio again.
By not logging in, you cannot easily access the diagrams from other devices.

**Recommendations to others considering Draw.io:**

It is good for creating quick occasional diagrams.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To create workflow diagrams

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

The ease of collaboration is what I like best about Draw.io. Free is also good.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

It seems a bit simplistic in design. More features would be great or maybe some design tutorials since I don't know what I don't know.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's really a great tool for using with students in the LMS because they can work together to edit and draw diagrams like their workflows.

  ### 17. accessible, usable free tool-- usability could be better

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2017

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

I love that it's free and a part of the Google family. This means I can easily link my coworkers to a info architecture graph, a flow, or a project progress map all in the same place.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

It's quite blocky when it comes to usability. There's quite a bit of effort involved in drawing the arrows, linking the boxes, making sure the arrows are straight, etc. Zooming in and out is a little stressful because the incremental steps are so large. I also wish there were a way to parse between graphs if they're all in the same document; I'm thinking about something like a Control-F to identify a graph when I need to access it quickly.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to map out site architecture. It not only helps us keep track of the organization of our content, but also helps us track project process based on the # of screens that hve been designed, developed, or not.

  ### 18. Great for Flowcharts!

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

It's a little tricky to use the arrows and pieces don't always move in conjunction.

**Recommendations to others considering Draw.io:**

Definitely use it!

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Flowcharts are of ease in draw.io

  ### 19. Site Mapping Tool

The ability easily create site maps and organize project ideas.

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

**Reviewed by:** Catherine A. | Lead Graphic Designer, Furniture, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2017

**What do you like best about Draw.io?**

Super easy to use and create flow charts/diagrams without having to manually draw connecting lines/arrows

**What do you dislike about Draw.io?**

In terms of design it felt limited in what I could do, limited text editing no easy way to repeat formatting of shapes and lines.

**What problems is Draw.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To setup a file to catalog files/folders on an external hard drive. I'm sure I might eventually find some other applications to use this product for, but I haven't so far.
