Very intuitive and extremely easy to use without sacrificing any quality whatsoever - of all the software I've ever used in my life, this is the easiest for me to recommend. It works right off the bat. As far as software goes, it's also very reasonably priced. No recurring fees or updates that change everything (like Premiere). They're also just a legitimately good company. When I needed to refund a license after a project went awry, they gave me a full refund two weeks after their return policy was up. This is a recommendation more than a dislike - In the projects panel (when you first open the software) it would be nice for a quick link to the project files location on your disk... if this isn't already a feature and I'm daft. Dragonframe solved an issue I had with finding software that was also compatible with Canon DSLRs. I'm using an ancient T1i 500D and it still worked perfectly. Dragonframe is a very simple but complete stop-motion animation software allows you to create high quality stop motion animations with many tools and features. I had the opportunity to use Dragonframe during workshops with children, and I must say that I found it very comfortable. I noticed that the children found the software very easy and intuitive to use. One of the things I liked most about Dragonframe was its intuitive and well-organized user interface. The software's advanced features, such as real-time visualization of frames and the ability to work with multiple cameras, allow for the creation of visually stunning animations. In summary, I think Dragonframe is an excellent stop-motion animation software that is perfectly suited for educational projects such as workshops with children but also in major studios. The best thing about Dragonframe for me is its user-friendly interface, allowing you to connect nearly any type of camera, giving you a live feed and instant playback of your animation. I bought Dragonframe several years ago before there were many options for app integration or wireless controllers for capturing. I was kind of skeptical regarding its functionality (regarding performance) on Linux-based distribution. I use Ubuntu, and to my surprise, the software worked without any hiccups. I was able to test out the features without any problems. Also, absolutely flawless work by developers in respect to making the software cross-platform. I did not experience any lags. I've used Linux Stopmotion, but Dragonframe is packed with less complexity and nearly all the features required to create perfect stop-motion animations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Dragonframe Software? I wish there were fewer restrictions over the trial period, i.e, regarding Camera RAW formats. Moreover, instead of providing documentation in "question/answer" format, I wish there were detailed descriptions of the features given by Dragonframe in an adequately documented manner. It's a personal opinion of mine as you don't always look for answers to specific questions, but you want to explore the features. Restricting documentation to "question/answer" somewhat limits the area of exploration especially when you're trying out different working techniques. Otherwise, there's nothing else to dislike. The developers have provided a whole bunch of tutorials that guide you through the initial steps of building the animation without any formal knowledge. The software works flawlessly on Ubuntu (so it's a go-go for ubuntu users). The features are easy to implement and tweak. I absolutely loved it. The intuitive graphical interface is extremely efficient in programming rich and comlpex camera moves. I also loved the fact that it comes with varities of keybindings (hotkeys) which makes the working on animation easy as most of the features are under the fingertip so I don't have to make extensive use of mouse for any sort of feature implementation on the objects. We love using Dragonframe because of the onion skin features, fast playback, and live preview. It captures high-quality footage with an intuitive user interface. When you bump the set, you can use the difference feature which is very helpful. You can create very fluid motions that are almost life like with Dragonframe. For instance, adding in some features that one would find in after effects would be very helpful. Exporting process could be a little more intuitive. I love the "Onion Skin" function, in which you can overlay a transparent version of your previous shot over the shot you are framing up next. This way, you can tell exactly where and how to move the objects you are using according to the stop-motion movements you plan to make. It is unbelievably helpful and so much more quick and accurate than having to test a shot, then flip back and forth to see if you moved your objects properly.
