What do you like best about DraftSight?

Draftsight is a great software to design 2 to 3D drawings. Exported design can be imported to the software. It is great to create drawings blocks including structural pages, notes and dimensions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DraftSight?

What do you dislike about DraftSight?

The Standard edition is no longer offered to new subscriptions. The cost of the Professional edition is way too high for our Not for Profit to afford the full number of licences that we have for DraftSight. Bring back the Standard edition or at least a heavily discounted charge for Not for Profits. We are reviewing a competitor's entry level (which has sufficient functionality for our purposes) product for which there is no charge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Awesome Drawing Platform"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

"Easy transition to draftsight"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

I'm a new user to draftsight and used it frequently to view and edit dwg files

The switch form other CAD software to Draftsight was so smooth because of its familiar interface ,common commands and tool bar ribons whuch makes it easy to implement 2D and 3D designs adding to this you can still use customizations created in Autocad however draftsight can easily integrate with catia and solidworks file because of using PDM data management system

Also You can always get the help of the Technical support team to get your project run smoothly.

Further more I find The Price to be incomparable as it provides several installation options and liscinces inclusing perpetual liscinces and yearly paid shared network liscinces (most software are paid monthly) which results in less liscinces required for the team cutting down the cost amazingly (not available in Autocad) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DraftSight?

Not the best choice for mechanical designs that needs 3D modeling and assemblies, although it has a handful of tools it can't compete with existing 3D cad software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"User friendly and versatile"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

My favorite button to use is the stretch feature! It saves me a lot of time at work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DraftSight?

It can be finicky to alter text due to the double click. Also, sometimes the cursor does not want to land on the point you want it to, which can be annoying if it is at an inserseting point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Extremely easy to use for AutoCAD user"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

The best thing about DraftSight is having a very similar user interface as AutoCAD and compatible with latest AutoCAD file format while the license fee is much lower than AutoCAD Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DraftSight?

As low cost subsititue of AutoCAD, I don't have anything dislike about DraftSight Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I use Draftsight for my 2D drafting work"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

I like Draftsight for two reasons. Since I learned how to use Autocad, I didn't need to relearn anything when I changed over to Draftsight. Also, it is less expensive than Autocad. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DraftSight?

I don't like that Draftsight doesn't have a clear path to upgrade to the higher end version. It's simply, buy another seat at the higher level and let the previous seat expire. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best CAD tool for 2D design"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

User-friendly user interface. One of the best things is most of the shortcuts are the same as Autocad. Mouse gestures and other shortcuts can be customized as like Solidworks which is very helpful for working faster. We can able to import PDFs and make 1:1 drawings. This is one of the less expensive 2D CAD tools available in the market. They provide very good customer support and responds quickly to out queries. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DraftSight?

sometimes, If we work on larger files it lags and generates crash reports. Very less tools are available for 3D design. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
