"Great Software with a Low Price"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

Draftsight is really similar to Autocad. I have used Autocad in the past and the passage to Draftsight was 0 efforts. The HMI is clear, simple and user friendly and most of the functions works like in Autocad software.

Also the good thing of this software is the price. 120€/year to have this software is a great balance in terms of functionality/cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DraftSight?

At the moment I don't have a negative feedback on the function of Draftsight. In the past we had a problem with the "CUT" tool and we waited a long time to see this trouble solved, because they solved the problem with a news Service Pack. In that period use the CUT tool was very difficult and I think that kind of problem should be solved in a faster way.

Unfortunately I don't have a big professional License so I was not able to open a ticket about this problem Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DraftSight solving and how is that benefiting you?

Draftsight is the main software I used a interface with other suppliers involved in the same project. We work in the automation world so we need to insert our products in a big layout of the factories. This is not possible with other 3D software due to the weight of the other components, so the 2D solution is the main used function.

Autocad is too expensive so we choose a simpler software and Draftsight was the 2 D software of Dassault SYstem (same as Solidworks). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"OK for small projects, beware of the bugs, buy AutoCAD for business use"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

Draftsight is easy to use, and is has enough features to do drawings and designs for home projects as well as some small business projects. The price is acceptable for running a small business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DraftSight?

Their tech support is useless and unprofessional. The recent 2023 updates has glitches. I reported the issue to their tech team, but they do not want to fix the bug. The bug was a critical issue. For some reason when exporting pdf drawings, some of the exported sketches magically became different than what you drew in the model space. This bug was not seen on previous versions my colleague is using. Their tech support did confirmed the bug, but they suggested me to re-draw the sketch, rather than investigate the root cause of the issue, because their technician did not know how to fix it. Thank god he/ she didn't tell me to reboot my computer. If you are operating a business and for your safety, purchase AutoCAD, so you don't end up having an exported pdf not being the same as what you have drawn. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It is a very good CAD software package except...."

What do you like best about DraftSight?

It is very reasonably priced 2d CAD software package when compared to AutoCAD or Intellecad. It has almost all of the features of AutoCAD and has no problem reading AutoCAD files or working on them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DraftSight?

Every time they update the software, they fix some things (i.e. crashing) and then they mess something else that was working (i.e. printing). Then the next version they fix the the thing they last mess up (i.e. printing), but then the last thing they fixed is messed up (it starts crashing again). Then on the next version they then repeat the pattern. Very very frustrating. They have poor software control and testing.... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Customer Service doesn't exist so how could I rate it????"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

I thought it was cheap, but a pencil and paper would be more use and cheaper. It almost feels like Autocad, but then it doesn't. If it said on the web site that the basic license is crap, only buy the privilaged version it would be comparable to Autocad, and I would probably have got Autocad. What do you dislike about DraftSight?

I would like to import a pdf and trace an outline, but it struggles with that. Pdf disappears if I zoom in or out or pan or blurs to the the point of being unuseable. It has withdrawn license fee almost 2 weeks early, then won't turn on because it says it is not licensed, still over a week to expiry date, then won't activate with code I've been sent? No-one to speak to, no number on web site, unless I join a privileged subscription only area, this smacks of scam software, avoid like the plague!!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DraftSight solving and how is that benefiting you?

If it worked I would be able to know how it could help, but as it doesn't I can't review its performance, I can't review the customer support as it doesn't exist either the links on Solidworks direct you to Draftsight and they say it doesn't exist unless you are an enterprise customer whatever one of those is? They took my money for the license auto renewal feature, that seems to work even if the application doesn't. To be fair it did work last week and it was a cheap drafting tool that almost did all I needed it to do, as it doesn't display pdf's properly even on a 3070RTX GPU I would say it has some serious flaws if that is a feature you need? "The faster 2D/3D DWG/DXF Software"

What do you like best about DraftSight?

This software can be installed very quickly, it is very stable, it does not require supercomputers to run with any design. I am using DraftSight instead of AutoCAD and now I won´t think to return. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DraftSight?

The DraftSight Software has many conversion options and to carry out electrical, civil, design, among others. Easy to use, easy to configure, with great tutorials on its official website. Very low cost compared to other project programs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Small bugs still occur, but nothing extreme, however they can be fixed for ease of use. Another solution that would be interesting is to have all the features released even for the standard license Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
