What do you like best about Doodly?

Recommendations to others considering Doodly:

All you need to do is to watch the beginners tutorials to understand how Doodly works, and how to use the features. after 2 or 3 projects, you can actually become an expert at Doodly, and move on to watching the expert tutorials to see how you can create moving animations and let your imagination run wild. What problems is Doodly solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about Doodly?

What do you dislike about Doodly?

I was a bit disappointed that support for Indian languages font, and non-American characters, is shaky. None of the Devnagri fonts (Hindi, Bengali, Marathi etc) render correctly. Had an email exchange on this (with even the solution) but did not happen. You are missing out on a huge market possibly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Doodly:

If you have never used a video editor or movie maker earlier, go for it. If you have used other things, but felt the need to turn out a short video double-quick that will delight your viewers, go for it. What do you like best about Doodly?

Results are awesome.

What do you dislike about Doodly?

Most fonts do not support special characters (Especially Arabic characters).

There is no ability to change the aspect ratio of shapes. Very useful in the case of basic shapes like rectangles, circles, etc...

Performance degrades when adding many scenes.

I want to be able to extend the extra period at the end of the scene without affecting the duration of each shape by dragging the scene end in the timeline.

Exporting the video does not support multi-cores in the CPU.

What do you like best about Doodly?

Relatively easy tool to learn how to use. Then once the videos are complete, they catch the viewers attention much better than any static presentation will. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Putting bundles in the right categories when received takes some effort. I haven't quite figured out how best to shift assets around in a useful way to make them faster to find when what I'm looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Doodly solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a trainer, I look for any tool to keep students' attention and impart knowledge. Doodly gives me the opportunity to keep their attention in computer based training by focusing their curiosity on what the final picture will contain when finished. Unconsciously, our curiosity doesn't want incomplete pictures, so we (and my students) stick with each slide to completion and information gets into their heads. What do you like best about Doodly?

Fairly simple to navigate. I'm not very computer literate and was able to figure out how to develop scenes. Recently detailed videos were published to completely demonstrate the process. Love these. Now I'm so excited to practice those parts that I was not aware of. It is time consuming but a little bit of planning my message ahead of time will probably help. What do you like best about Doodly?

This is a great easy to use click and drag application that allows you to create high quality presentations with ease. They are also visual and light hearted so get better engagement from the audience Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are No real issues I can think of, the additional bundles definitely mean you can keep your content fresh without having to always re-use old scenes or characters etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Doodly?

The fast drag and drop nature with write on functionality. doing a write on effect in AE is easily done but very time consuming whic makes it impractical. Doodly makes the write one effect (even the custom path one) fast to add. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Doodly?

Being an After Effects & Camtasia user, many things about Doody drive me nuts if I'm honest. The biggest annoyance (and it's a huge time waster) is that you have to watch the entire video from start to finish every time you hit the preview button. This has made me an occasional user of Doodly, as opposed to a regular user, and this major flaw would make me reticent to recommend doodly to others.

Two Preview features would have me instantly promote my score from 6 to an 8.

1) Preview from the play heads current position

2) Preview selected area/region of the timeline (see how Camtasia and Or After Effects achieve this) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Doodly:

Buy the one off fee version first. I'm ok with the $67 dollars for what it gives me, but with the little annoyances and lack of certain features I would have been disappointed if I have bought an annual license Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Doodly?

The software is intuitve. I have used several of the video creation software. Doodly, EasySketch Pro, and VideoScribe. I would have to say that VideoScribe was the best interface as far as the drag and drop images. Easy Sketch Pro was the best price when I got it, but the interface was a bit clunky. I like Doodly's ability to import your own svg images and tracing patterns. It is pretty simple to import what you want they are giving out a bunch of free images all the time. What do you dislike about Doodly?

The one thing that I don't love about Doodly, is that the preview of the video is often out of sync with the audio and seem a bit laggy. Usually this is just a preview issue as the rendered video is often a lot better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
