The DoiT platform integrates really easily in a few copy/pasted commands, provides a good about of visibility that complements and extends the built in tools on GCP. While the software is good, the real benefit is in the experience the team brings - the account management is proactive and engaged while the technical consultancy always manages to quickly find a SME to help, and have been super helpful to us in engaging with the cloud provider support teams and representing our interests there. Our organisation was quite unfamiliar with engaging and using partners so it took a while for us learn how to interact with the DoiT team and get the best benefit from them. Their team is incredibly responsive whenever we need support or have technical questions about the product or AWS billing in general. The main feature we use is the cost reporting, which is really helpful to share with other teams so they can take ownership of their usage, and cost anomaly alerts are helpful to keep on top of changes. We’ve found their cloud cost reports to be significantly better than the vendors’—easy to read and analyze. They’ve helped us build a FinOps foundation within our company and shift from simply spending in the cloud to actively saving. I got introduce to DoIt 2 years ago and I have been a big fan since then. Not only did it help us to easily identify cloud savings (~15%), it also reduced my personal time spent to analyse our monthly cloud cost. Unexplainable cost increases took me a few hours to investigate; now with Doit I can do that in less than 30min thanks to their great report and analytics capabilities. Next the FinOps features my company uses their consulting services for Cloud components for which do not have an in house expert.
