DocuSign is easy to use for getting documents signed quickly, and recipients are already familiar with it. For basic, transactional e-signature workflows, it works reliably and reduces friction compared to paper contracts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Docusign? DocuSign works well for getting documents signed, but it creates serious long-term risks that are not obvious upfront. There is no practical way for small or mid-size businesses to bulk-export their signed contracts or even see a total count on standard plans, making backups, migrations, or business wind-downs extremely difficult without paying for expensive enterprise tools or downloading documents one by one. Even more concerning, contract templates cannot be downloaded as usable PDFs—only as JSON configuration files—so if you didn’t separately archive your original blank contracts when they were first uploaded, they may be effectively trapped inside DocuSign years later. It should be easy to to use and it is, but when you think you are done and click finish, it goes into no where land and you cannot find the finished document anywhere and neither can docusign. What do you dislike about Docusign? \* DocuSign requires material upcharge simply to prevent double accounts, thereby allowing employees to have two accounts (one personal and one corporate) through their company email address. This creates significant confusion. At times DocuSign event auto-directed signature requests to the personal account and created friction and ample additional workload on our organization. \* Difficult to bulk download signed documents without an upcharge DocuSign tool. \* Misrepresentated that we could have . Orderd 15K envelopes for two years. Only used 5K envelopes in that time. DocuSign made little concessions to us and we were going to lose out on 10K plus envelopes we paid for. \* DocuSign forces a service plan on you for a significant additional charge. Despite the hefty upcharge it's difficult to immediately get a response via email/chat from their service team. \* Much more expensive than other options (e.g. SignNow). We have a straightforward need to send 10-12 documents out for signature from our SF sales platform, and there is an Apex error in the app. Docusign acknowledges it shouldn't be happening, but has no fix. Docusign is a great e-sign tool if you are using it through the Docusign portal or with Salesforce classic - but it does NOT work for lightning. You have to code a custom button just to get a button to show up - then you have to use a crazy workaround because they have a "bug" that prevents you from adding attachments normally.
