Docupilot is very intuitive and simplifies repetitive tasks. I tried using it mainly for generating research reports, collaboration agreements, and consent forms for study participants. I could easily adapt it to my usecase even without a readily available template. The integrations with tools like Google Drive, Docusign, and Airtable seems great, and could potentially save time and effort. This flexibility and automation allows me to focus more on research rather than administrative tasks, which I really appreciate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Docupilot is a powerful tool, having a library of ready-made templates for various industries would enhance the user experience. Currently, there is a stronger focus on applications like finance, healthcare, and rental agreements, which might not cater directly to academic use cases. Including these templates (ie, for research reports, grant proposals, or academic certificates etc) would make the initial setup smoother for users in education or research fields. The best is the ability to deliver the document to Gdrive.
Thanks to Gdrive once a file is generated it appears in a folder in my laptop.
It was very easy to implement. I connected my CRM Follow Up Boss to Docupilot and then Docupilot to my Google Drive.
I use the on a weekly basis. It just sits ther in the back and I just create a tag in Follow Up Boss and the magic happens by itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When I find there is a mistake in my document. I need to open my .docx in my computer and then upload it. If it would automaticaly read the files from my Google Drive folder with Templates. It would be way better and it would speed up when I need to edit a document. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I evaluated Docupilot against several other tools to use for creating rich format exports of data from an Airtable base. The key feature that Docupilot provides is the ability to create the formatted output template in MS Office apps (Word, Excel). The template is uploaded to Docupilot and then mapped to the data in Airtable via an Airtable integration extension. Being able to create the templates using Word and Excel is much easier than using a drag-and-drop editor, which is an approach with some competitive products. There are also some good tools that use G-Suite apps for creating templates, but my client uses MS Office which made Docupilot the right tool for them.
I was able to set up the Airtable extension, create a test template, map the data fields and create an export document in a couple hours.
Docupilot's support team is also very helpful and responsive, even when I was initially using a trial version to test their product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Documentation is ok, but could use more detail and examples.
When you upload an Excel-based template, it renders weirdly in the Docupilot UI although it works properly when you generate an output from Airtable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Docupilot has completely transformed the way we handle document automation. The thing I like most is how intuitive and easy to use it is. The platform lets you quickly create, customize, and automate documents, saving us hours of manual work. The template library is also fantastic—customizable to meet a wide range of needs, and the ability to automate processes across different tools has made our workflows much more efficient. It would be great if there were more pre-designed templates for niche industries, but their support team is quick to help customize templates when needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We’ve been using Docupilot for a variety of documentation needs like generating contracts, invoices, and customer reports.
It has been very easy to tailor document templates for variety of use cases. We can select from features like dynamic variables, conditional logic, and list items and use these to create documents that adapt to different use-cases Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Docupilot's inbuilt automation capabilities does have scope of improvement. As of today, we do use tools like Zapier and leverage the APIs, to automate our document transfer processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Very simple process for creating document templates
- Jinja/templating
- API is simple, amazing for generating documents with data from our other systems
- Multi-user support
- Easy to setup and use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Template tokens on PDF documents with existing input fields are sometimes not labeled properly (text_1, text_2, etc). Would be nice to have a method to identify the input fields and rename the template tokens in the template editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Docupilot has transformed how we handle document generation in our organization. What sets Docupilot apart is its simplicity paired with advanced features. It’s far less complex than PandaDoc. We've been able to generate contracts, invoices, and reports in minutes, cutting down on administrative overhead significantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Docupilot excels in automation and functionality, the design customization options for templates could be more extensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My overall experience with Docupilot has been excellent. Docupilot allows me to generate word documents from a template directly inside Airtable. It is difficult to find an app that generates a Word document and I was pleased to discover Docupilot has this option. While setting up my templates, I received assistance from Docupilot using their helpful videos and via email. In cases when I couldn't reach them immediately, they got back to me by email within a reasonable amount of time. While setting up and testing your template, you are allowed to use a testing mode so it does not use up your monthly credits. This is especially important if you are on a lower tier plan. No cons to mention about Docupilot. Just be patient and once your template is set up, it is easy going. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
