Tool to create documents in a hidden way **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Alejandra C. | Especialista en ventas y marketing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2019 **What do you like best about DocSecrets for G Suite?** It is a very simple application to use that you can start using without a prior guide, is designed to create documents to share but within the document you can hide certain information that you do not want all users to see, they can access the information you restrict only if they have the password you choose. **What do you dislike about DocSecrets for G Suite?** It is a program that works very well for me, I can use it without any problem and fulfills all its function, when acquiring it you must take into account that if you forget your password you lost that information because there is no way to recover the password. **Recommendations to others considering DocSecrets for G Suite:** It's an application that can be used by any user because it's very easy to use and you don't need a previous guide to use it, it's completely free and it's great because it has professional tools, for these reasons I can recommend it because you can create different shared documents and hide in them some information that you don't want to be seen completely by other users. **What problems is DocSecrets for G Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** In our company we manage to keep certain information secret while sharing the rest of the document, we can share the documents but hide for other users certain texts that we do not want to be seen, is very easy to use and manage. ### 2. It's a fairly simple idea and seemed to work well with minimal issues. Here's what I like best: - With the add-on you have the ability (as the creator) to block others from seeing certain content on your Doc. You may still want collaborators, which is great, but the add-on emables you to keep certain parts of a Doc private. - It's responsive to your movement. If I move the cursor to "protected" locations, it brings this to your attention. Nice idea. - You have the freedom to reveal certain secrets to certain collaborators. - Easy to get going, minimal learning curve. - Extremely simple design - so simple that some may find the colors problematic. **What do you dislike about DocSecrets for G Suite?** My biggest concern was there was no "safety net." This is not backed through your Google account anyhow, so if someone forgets the code/password, that sensitive/secret info is gone forever (so it seems). A security question feature would be nice. Another idea would be to give users options with regards to the color coding. **What problems is DocSecrets for G Suite solving and how is that benefiting you?** The ability to hide sensitive data/info within a Doc, yet still give collaborators access to work on and edit the Doc. ### 3. You may edit, reveal or remove your secrets. DocSecrets automatically tracks your cursor position and highlights the current secret. You can share your documents with your partner by revealing your passphrase to your collaborators so that they can view and edit secrets. **What do you dislike about DocSecrets for G Suite?** It might stop working unexpectedly so you better keep a backup of your data somewhere. The encryption works though it would take a little time to do and it doesn't seem to maintain formatting thing.
