**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Docker?**

Docker provides a number of platforms without the need to install any dependencies or software. File mapping to containers works flawlessly.
Docker provides its own repository and cloud for uploading its own projects and servicesrvices. Taking a pull of any service and running it is simple.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

Sometimes the command line gets stuck. Docker images can become too large at times and should include garbage collection tools.

**Recommendations to others considering Docker:**

In my opinion, Dockers are a great alternative to virtual machines.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Docker excels at what it does best: container image management, administration, and deployment. Updates are simple, seamless, and well-integrated with Kubernetes, so they work well whether your deployment is on-premises or in the cloud. CLI is fantastic, and I've never used another tool to manage this. Docker Desktop is easy to use.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Docker?**

The ability to manage images and containers is something i like the most. The easiness to operate and learn is also a very big plus point.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

There isn't much to dislike, but only thing that sometimes trouble is the requirement to add in a solution for persistent storage.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Docker has really facilitated the development process by enabling us to create an exact environment where to run the code.

  ### 6. Docker makes shipping software far more resilient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Docker?**

Docker standardizes software delivery by ensuring OS your software is running in is consistent and reproducible. Docker containers also have a faster start time than conventional virtual machines. These two combined means you can have a more reproducible production environment that recovers more quickly from failure than traditional software delivery means.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

Docker concepts can be hard to grasp for junior developers. More beginner documentation about WHY you need docker would be helpful when mentoring interns. There is a steep learning curve to docker, but the benefits far outweigh this.

**Recommendations to others considering Docker:**

Take the time to read the documentation and fully understand network configuration.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Docker helps standardize software delivery to development, staging, and production environment. It is a standard way to deliver software to cloud and on-prem environments.

  ### 7. Docker

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arham T. | Junior DevOps Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 10, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

It creates an immutable image for the current or existing building which any one can use by pulling image from docker hub. It also use to containerize application to avoid any issues related to versions. It also provide support to connect third party tools which is easy to integrate. Docker uses image to run container. In Docker we bind ports if self or describe any other options like volumes networks etc. It provides consistent and isolated environment also provide cost effectiveness with fast deployment run test rollback and deploy with flexibility.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

If any one want to change or remove something from their existing build or project after build was successfully deployed. They need to down the container and build a image again which is very disliked thing in docker.
Container don't run at a bare metal speed container consume more resources more efficiently then virtual machines. Container ecosystem is fractured graphical application doesn't work well also not all applications take benefit from containers, persistent data storage is complicated

**Recommendations to others considering Docker:**

My recommendation for docker is it is a next level thing in upcoming industry by using docker everyone see the big difference how Docker Change the world also Docker able to manage load if your site loaded with too much traffic you can simply use load balancer to manage your traffic by dividing it into to different routes.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solve verison control issues which is very common let say i use node verison 12 in my local machine but when i run it on production is shows verison error to after using docker I overcome this problem because when i containerize my application it becomes same as we run on production. It also solve problems related to incorrect application dependencies such as libraries Interpreter's code binaries

  ### 8. Best container store

**Reviewed by:** Koushik P. | Code Soc Coordinator , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

In this docker, I Like this very much as this is the best container store. It is very easy to build an image and share it with others like the public and tag the latest and keep up to date.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

Until a few months back I did not have any dislikes in docker. But do due to the latest update they made auto-build to pro users only. But Think to keep that to make it free for all users.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By using Docker I solve the latest version of hosting software easily and fast like using Microsoft Azure and Managing a tagging and easy identification which is worked properly.

  ### 9. Ultimate for containerised application

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

A single image is used to package the application, which includes all running entities, binaries. Efficient - construct a lightweight virtual machine that can run any application. To handle the docker commands, use simple commands. It offers a virtual platform for creating and deploying applications to the Docker HUB.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

So far I haven't faced any issue with docker. The only thing is needed to improve the GUI. Overall the best Light Weight application used for deployment.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used to deploy various applications to the docker public repository. I Docker commands are elementary to remember and understand. Excellent exposure to docker will lead to learning many technologies like k8s. It's just as simple to pull docker images from a repo and use them as it is to upload Docker images to Docker Hub. It's a fantastic application that has a plethora of libraries that may be used in a variety of ways.

  ### 10. Simple Management of Multiple Applications

  ### 11. Best containerization and virtualization tool for microservices architecture

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Priyabrat Prasad M. | IT Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

As we are using a microservices-based architecture where multiple services are created with various technologies, Docker really comes in handy in the creation of development and deployment enviroment in a secure and efficient manner.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

Sometimes the docker container gets exited due to which services get down. And docker logging mechanism also needs some improvements. Auto recovery functionality would also be great to have.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use microservices-based architecture, and we build, deploy the services and lambda functions as docker containers in ECR as AWS EC2 instances. It helps us run multiple technology services in the same environment. For on-premise docker container we also used ECR to store docker images.

  ### 12. Docker is what we use for managing our virtual machines

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Willie A. | Programmer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

Docker is stable, and reliable in our experience. I enjoy the fact I can run database instances, on different Linux distributions and then compare them to existing instances.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

Starting and shutting down some of the virtual machines has required a reboot to free up the resources on the machine. Though i am not sure if this is a docker only issue or an issue with running it in the windows enviroment.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Testing new operating systems to migrate/update our legacy systems. We also use it to test different system resource structures for setting up scaling systems.

  ### 13. Easy of version controlling and tags.

**What do you like best about Docker?**

In docker the things I like is in this it is very easy to use containers and version and tags also very easily.and with the help of this I was able to host my application so easily.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

The thing I don't like in this docker is they have changed the auro build to pro users only but for students to use it is very difficult and I don't say to keep auto build totally open but for free users keep one containers can have auto build like free users can make only one private container.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I have solved using thsi docker is latest version of languages and tools taht j need using these containers and docker file and help me to keep my application to latest every time.

  ### 14. Effective tool to customize your application

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shishir K. | Deputy Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Docker?**

It is the best tool to package and deploy microdervices components. It also helps speed up deployments and developing pipelines thus an efficient way to implement CI/CD technique

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

There are few avenues of improvements, e.g. we need to have Linux knowledge to write own image and we need to always re-build images whevever we have to install new modules

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps to configure servers quickly and quickly helps to implement CI-CD in the project. It helps to build containers in a secure, reliable and faster way thus one thing less to worry about

  ### 15. Best to store ready made images

**Reviewed by:** Faisal I. | Jr - DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

The best thing is easy uploading of image from my local machine to docker hub , very easy to upload our images and very easy to pull when you want to use that image anywhere.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

There is nothing to dislike in docker hub it is very helpful. And till yet i haven't anything which made me dislike docker hub.

**Recommendations to others considering Docker:**

Best to save your images remotely and can be reused easily

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was assigned a task to create a docker image which was modified version of application and we have to use it on servers. So i made a docker image of that application and uploaded that image on dockerhub and used it by just image in yaml file by name and applications start working perfectly as per expected.

  ### 16. Operating system level virtualisation made simple

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neha U. | Project Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

It has made your developed applications OS independent and infrastructure independent. When we develop a project this docker helps in breaking the dependence between the developed infrastructure and serves as a packages or images so that it can be delivered quickly for implementation irrespective of infrastructure or os

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

In security perspective after lot of R&D I found that a malicious code can attack system irrespective of the container. And also not all applications doest best suit for containers. Its documentation is quite poor and kills time for a beginner to start with docker concepts.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a project trainee I was assigned with an task to implement the docker concepts for a project which is developed already to break the dependence with the developed infrastructure and deliver it as a package.

  ### 17. Docker images

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Docker?**

Deploying an image is a way easy task than all

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

kuberneties options are less, can integrate more

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it suddenly stops and we have to run it manuall again using Docker up command but this happens rarely.

  ### 18. Amazing way to run containers

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Online Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

I love that the Hub is always available to grab container images when setting up new environments. I also love that Docker runs flawlessly inside of Unraid. Having a web based GUI to run containers in an always-on environment is worth its wait in gold.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

There is a pretty steep learning curve. It took me about two weeks of daily use to get a handle on things and even still I occasionally have to look up how the resource mapping works.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Docker runs several containers on a headless Unraid NAS. I use a whole home ad blocker container, a Plex container for media sharing, my Ubiquiti network controller, and a private Minecraft server for my family.

  ### 19. Good but can be better

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chanakya B. | Senior Technical Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Docker?**

Docker is very easy to use and for managing containers, I believe it's the best out there. Support for "enabling Kubernetes" is cherry on top.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

I wish there could be a way to reallocate the resources once the container is created. There is no option for configuration of resources at runtime which can be a pain sometimes.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used docker for containerizing our application to create multiple instances by scaling the containers which helped us a lot to test performance and load balancing.

  ### 20. Docker

Python environment scaling got easier l.

  ### 22. Cloud Storage

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshay M. | Chapter Leader, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

The best part of docker is we can deploy our code using the docker image.
We just need to create image of our existing code and we are able to deploy the code using docker container

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

It's very tough to understand initially,
Users documentation is not properly for administrators to deploy the production code and also creating of docker image is quite tricky.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Docker helps me to deploy one of my projects module using the container by creating docker image of my code.
DOCKER provides instance solutions
Also helps me to learn cloud computing.

  ### 23. Home for container - Images

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

1. A good interface and visualization tool

2.Open platform and vast freedom to build and push images without restrictions

3. Supports different OS with ease

4. Sharing and Deploying is easy and spread across the system

5. Automatic image generation is an added plus

6. Managing private reprository is easy

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

1. OS and Scripting compatibility is a bit off .

2. Refequent upgrades and crash makes it hard to opt for updates when needed

3.Steep learning curve

4. Not enought of documentation

5. ls command equivalent is painful to locate the images if many

6. It lacks intergration with other pieces technical developers use

**Recommendations to others considering Docker:**

Looking for an inexpensive way , it is the right choice to achieve the needs . It is open and allows good collaboration and sharing of images as a team . Great support and provides ease of use .

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualization , storing are the main uses . I have the ability to label my images and sepearte them from the application state and usuability aspect . Scanning also explores the vulnuerability and helps to keep images intact

  ### 24. The best way to build and deploy your applications - a must have skill for engineers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

Where do I begin! From the first time that I learn about Docker, it has been a must have when building and deploying any applications that I have worked on. It is easily extensible and so easy to put together different images and containers!

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

I think the initial learning curve can be a bit steep especially for those that are also new to networking. As I was learning I found that the docs could be a bit overwhleming especially if you do not know what you are looking for but this does get easier with time.

**Recommendations to others considering Docker:**

I would recommend using Docker and see how much easier it will be to build and deploy your apps. It also helps promote the culture of 'you build it, you ship it' within your organisation so can bring about a lot of unexpected positive results too. I think learning Docker is a must for those in the industry as it is everywhere and once you start using it you will quickly figure out why. I do think that the initial learning curve is a bit steep so starting with simple images and then building on that to more complex containers and setting up an internal registry within the organisation is the expected journey that I would have in mind for someone wanting to become more familiar.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Deploying applications more efficiently and in a reproducible way. Sharing pre-built images within the organisation for better collaboration. It has improved the performance and the time it takes for us to do our deployments. Honestly, I can't even imagine what it used to be like to have to build without Docker in the past.

  ### 25. Outstanding container solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

It can be used to make images that includes the app and it's dependencies, it can be easily shared and pushed to repositories. It supports multiple os now and has support for kuberenetes out of the box in docker desktop app

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

The Hyper-V based docker installation on windows runs very slow, and with some time there can be lot of dangling images accumulated that take up lot of resources.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Docker to ship my web application in containers which breaks the system depencies. I wrote Docker files and uploaded them to a private registry(AWS ECR) for my colleagues to reuse

  ### 26. Best tool available for containerized deployments

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

Docker provides the capability of out-of-the-box containerized deployments for most of the resources that my team uses.
This helps us to make sure that all services are deployed as containers and can be scaled up with parallel deployments.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

There's nothing much to dislike about docker, tbh.
Unparalleled community support, overall great product, and a perfect fit for the use case it is built for!

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Docker is more or less integral to the deployments my team does, for all our services. Since we have a microservice-based architecture, docker comes in handy for both local and remote deployments of any service as and when required.

  ### 27. docker is open source container .it enables developer to package applicaion into container

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Docker?**

It uses an apache server, and it is a container containing binary and library required dependencies run code in any environment. We can use it anywhere in the world.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

The container ecosystem is fractured. Graphical applications don't work well. Containers don't run bare-metal speed. need RAM and storage devices to stored .this is a container not a tester

**Recommendations to others considering Docker:**

avoid running container as root

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Docker solved the problem of turning existing application into virtual unikernels. If applications are static, you need to run them without docker. It provides flexibility .Test roll back and deploy.

  ### 28. Best tool to create containers for microservices

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

The best thing about Docker is the way it allows you to create images for your containers. You just create a 'dockerfile' in which you specify the software stack that will run inside a container.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

The UI has limited functionality; it does not give complete control to users over their containers.
For more advanced operations, one has to resort to commands typed in a terminal window.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem solved with docker is creating containers for microservice execution.
The main benefit is to avoid conflicts with other software, which may have different dependencies.

  ### 29. Containerisation tool for any type of application that is simple to use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

The most remarkable aspect is that the windows docker app can enable Kubernetes support with just one toggle, the community support is very strong, there are always people accessible to aid you with your issues. Also, it provides 3 different easy ways to install it on Linux machines.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

Docker for windows using WSL is very slow even on my intel i7 8th gen laptop, apart from that I think Docker is has nothing to dislike about

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I make images for my web app and push it to the docker hub and then other teammates just continue to work on the same image and push to the same docker registry. We have a Dockerfile that contains all of the necessary commands, new employees just run a container from the image instead of installing all individual software.

  ### 30. Easy to use containerisation tool for any kind of application

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Samar S. | Data Scientist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

The first thing I like about the Docker hub is that it provides a desktop app for MacBook.
Docker hub has an excellent documentation section for developers, this makes studying about it & the usage very smooth.
And the most amazing thing is the community support. There are always helpful developers available to answer your problems.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

There's nothing that I dislike about Docker hub as of now.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a team of Software engineers & data scientists. We work remotely and develop apps remotely.
This requires us to continuously test our code in an environment that stimulates the production environment, which is where the Docker hub comes in.
We build environments using Docker hub to test our deployments & code changes which enables us to make a smooth transition from development to production-ready apps.

  ### 31. Docker user review

**Reviewed by:** Deepak K. | A, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

Generating an image of code and deploying it is the best part, that is what it is made to do.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

Nothing, but sometimes finds it annoying to maintain the images.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Generating new build images and deploying to the server.

  ### 32. docker for developer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Docker?**

Docker is best for building images and containers.
I mean, we need to specify what version of the node we are using in the project.
specify work for docker, and run command. It will do the rest of the work

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

Sometimes it takes time to load. The first time it will download the images takes much time.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If more people are working on the same project with different machine, different os, you just need setup docker with project and run docker, and it will install all the dependencies as per docker file and the project.

  ### 33. An alright experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

I do not have to clone and build heavy repositories on my system.
If available, can just pull the docker image and run it in a container.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

Frequent updates sometimes crash the software on Mac systems.
The container list is also wiped clean due to this issue.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were initially using it to run database images on the development environments.
Now, in addition to that, we are also running multiple instances of entire staging setups with this.

  ### 34. Successfully docked

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremy B. | Contractor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

  ### 35. Docker - Feature-rich container

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jimesh S. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2021

**What do you like best about Docker?**

In this cloud computing and microservice-based environment, containerization is inevitable. Containers have solved the critical portability problem which allows us to isolate code from the infrastructure underlying it. Packaging the application including all running objects, bins and libraries are required to run is wrapped in a single image. And, this image/container will behave identically in all environment or operating system.

**What do you dislike about Docker?**

To work with Docker, we need to remember several commands and also required a good command of the Linux machine.

**Recommendations to others considering Docker:**

Dockerized container is behaving just like running software in your operating system. It does not require a Hypervisor like it is required within Virtual Machine, which means it is not like running any other Operating system. Docker can isolate the application at a different level.

**What problems is Docker solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Docker has made easy our work. We just had to define one Dockerfile and define all required commands within it. Whenever any software or tool is required we just need to start the container. Likewise, we defined Dockerfile for our database(on stage environment only) and it was quite easy for us to change software or tool. We do not need to install any software, we just need to start the container and stop whenever done.
