"Used DS224+ in two companies—easy setup, intuitive DSM, smooth file transfers,&reliable performance."
5/5
What do you like best about DiskStation?

The DSM interface is clean and easy to navigate, even for someone who’s not super technical on the IT side since I am an Electrical Engineer. I also like how reliable it feels once everything is set up—you just forget it’s there and it keeps working. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DiskStation?

It is a bit costly compared to basic storage drives, and some of the extra apps or features require a bit of trial and error to configure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A powerful tool"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DiskStation?

I like that it makes storage super easy to manage. The UI is clean and you can setup backups, shares and remote access in just a few clicks. Also, the apps available are really useful for small teams or home office setups. Runs very stable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DiskStation?

Sometimes the updates take a while and feel a bit scary cause you’re not sure if something will break. Also some features are locked behind licenses or certain models, which is a bit annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I appreciate DiskStation as a reliable platform for crafting messages and assisting with a variety of tasks. It works well with computer systems like MacBook, making it useful for texting, providing handouts, and directing messages efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DiskStation?

I found the initial setup of DiskStation a bit difficult because I don't have much knowledge about it. I'm trying to read and understand more, but it hasn't been easy. Additionally, I wish it had more advanced features, such as the capability to make video calls with images, which would improve its functionality for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Synology DiskStation: Empowering Data Management with Ease"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DiskStation?

There are plenty of things I like about DiskStation. I would like to mention some points -

Robust Performance: The DiskStation impresses with its exceptional performance, delivering high data transfer speeds and ensuring data integrity.

User-Friendly Interface: The DiskStation Manager (DSM) provides a highly intuitive and user-friendly interface, simplifying configuration and management tasks.

Versatile Feature Set: DiskStation offers a diverse range of features, including data backup, media streaming, remote access, and application hosting, catering to various needs.

Strong Security Measures: The emphasis on security through features like firewall management, data encryption, and user access controls ensures the safety of stored data.

Expandability and Scalability: The ability to easily add more hard drives and access a wide range of compatible apps and packages enhances the system's expandability and scalability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DiskStation?

I would say that the points I say about dislike reflects potential areas for improvement rather than inherent flaws. The DiskStation overall remains an excellent choice for NAS solutions. Here are some points though -

Lack of Advanced Customization: While DiskStation provides ample customization options, some advanced users might desire even more granular control over certain features.

Learning Curve for Beginners: Although the interface is user-friendly, newcomers to NAS systems may face a slight learning curve when setting up and configuring the DiskStation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Synology NAS DiskStation is literally _the best_"
5/5
What do you like best about DiskStation?

DiskStation gives you "remote login" support essentially to your Synology NAS. It has built in apps such as PLEX for media consumption as well as Hyper Backup, it allows you to upload and save for backup all media such as pictures and videos. It is an amazing service with incredible support and an amazing forum that can allow you to access basically any answer/solution for any question with their incredible user base. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DiskStation?

It's a closed system for better or for worse in their application pool and requires a lot of time for configuration to make it work as intended. It would be nice if they have more systems that were a single click for secure setup instead of needing to follow online tutorials to get the best setup/configuration. "Great products that last forever with great support to boot!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about DiskStation?

We started using Synology diskstations in 2013; we needed more space for near-space archiving. The first model was the DS-1511+, which we used for about a decade before retiring it to our security camera system. We have since added a rack-based RS814+ with about 4 TB of space. The best thing about Synology is most of the apps that you can install on the boxes are free to use. Some include various backup systems, web servers and network near-storage. Updates come regularly, and the unit can connect to AD without any issues. Space is up to you, as you can buy your drives or buy them pre-installed. There are rack versions and free-standing units to make it easy to put into any environment. The benefit of pushing your files to the cloud for an offsite backup strategy or file-sharing just adds to the usefulness of the system Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DiskStation?

There are not any, maybe the cost? But there are not that expensive to start with, and the expense comes in the drives you use for storage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
