It's an open encryption software making it preferable for encrypting confidential data. It is able to encrypt whole disks or disk partitions, and even the partition containing operating system. Since it supports AES, TwoFish and Serpent encryption algorithms it offers full support of dynamic disks and also has transparent encryption. It also offers ability to create encrypted CD and DVD disks. It supports full encryption of external USB devices too. It offers multi boot options for encrypted operating system disks. DiskCryptor's user interface is unique but does not match current trends and standards. We are dealing with an open-source and free application. It is downloaded from the official page and installed very easily and in a short time. Its interface is very intuitive and you will soon be ready to take advantage of all its features. The purpose of this tool is to help you securely store the most sensitive company data, thanks to the complex encryption algorithms it allows you to apply to your disk volumes (Twofish, Serpent, and AES). In this way, your information and data will only be accessible to those with whom you share the key. You can encrypt information from hard drives, partitions within them, external storage devices like pen drives, or create already encrypted CDs and DVDs. It is incomprehensible that there is no version of the Disk Cryptor program for Ubuntu (Linux). You must also keep in mind that working with encrypted information is much more secure, but it is also slower, because before you can read or edit it, you have to decrypt it, and this takes time. It is also not allowed to encrypt only specific folders or files; they must always be entire volumes. The application has several points in its favor that are positive and make it a reference: 1.- It is very simple to use, fast and intuitive its functions. 2.- You can encrypt partitions or complete hard disks. 3.- The application is very small and it is a downloadable file with easy installation. 4.- It allows to save the state of the encryption in case of not finishing the complete process and to be able to finish it later. 5.- It is open source and it is added that it is completely free for personal and business use. 6.- It allows the creation of bootable disk to encrypt the disk without the need to enter the operating system, this disk is used in case of wanting to encrypt and protect the main disk. 7.- You can protect yourself with a password to access the data. I like that in the first place it is a completely free program, it costs nothing to acquire and use the program, once installed it offers a high performance once the data of the partition or hard disk has been encrypted, comparing it with a system not encrypted the development of the system is quite good, since it does not seem to be encrypted, the most important thing is the options that the program offers you once you have encrypted the data, since to login you are asked for an alphanumeric password that only allows to start the pc by entering that password and go further, without the introduction of that password you can not read in any way the encrypted datps on the hard drive.
