I had a massive 8.93 GB video file that was corrupted when the power source was turned off before stopping the recording. I tried multiple repair methods first — including FFmpeg commands, VLC’s “fix” prompt, and a couple of free online MP4 repair tools — but none of them were able to handle the size or restore the file on my platform. The CleverFiles team stepped in and delivered. They had me upload the file via Dropbox, manually repaired it, and sent back a fully playable version — despite it being far above their published size limit. Their support team (Mit, David, and Denys) was responsive, knowledgeable, and actually solved the issue, not just gave canned replies. That level of follow-through is rare. **What do you dislike about Disk Drill?** The 5 GB size limit for online repairs can be quite limiting for those who work with larger files, particularly in media production. I had an 8.93 GB video file that became corrupted when the power source was cut mid-recording. I bought lifetime support to support this efficient and quick response time support team. They are blazing fast in answering my question. I recently lost a 1.5TB hard drive and wanted to recover the latest data. I left Disk Drill to run a deep scan over night and was surprised to find that it had found over 4TB of recoverable files. During the recovery process the support was right there lightning fast response time and extremely helpful. Would recommend. **What do you dislike about Disk Drill?** When you use any recovery software, you are recovering data and that's it. The file types that are fully recoverable will be determined by the software you use. Therefore there were certain filetypes that could not be recovered at this time (Pro Tools ptx files, although it does support ptf file recovery). The disk drill team were extremely helpful, showed me how to make a filetype request for future Diskdrill releases and upload examples. I look forward to continuing to use Disk Drill both for my own data recovery and to aid any clients in the future. **What problems is Disk Drill solving and how is that benefiting you?** No matter how fastidious we are in backing up, some data loss is inevitable, corrupt drive, accidental formatting are two common caused. I had many photos and media on the 4tb drive that were not redundant on other drives, so recovery was crucial. I tried fsck at the command line to no avail. With the academic discount, the price was just under 80 bucks, after a deep scan, voila my files were recovered. I highly recommend. A discount data recovery job runs about 500-700 bucks, so this was much cheaper and efficacious. You can also make an image of a drive that doesn't mount in your os. I will have to try the delete duplicates on my SSD which boots my OS, seems like nifty feature. Final verdict: highly recommend. Its worth the money over competitors. **What do you dislike about Disk Drill?** I wish it was a bit cheaper. 49 bucks seems like my sweet point.
