  ### 1. Remote Interviews Made Easy with Discuss, but Mind the Occasional Call Drop

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I really appreciate the ability to get recordings so I can analyze them and share them with my team. It's great to have the backroom conversation and chat during meetings, and the use of visual stimuli to show participants is very effective. The tech support is also a big plus for me. Whenever there's a problem, they're there to assist.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I would say once or twice a day, I get a dropped call. So if I'm doing six hours of interviews, one or two of those interviews every day does have some audio problems. I know you can't control the Internet connection of all parties. But if I had to pick something, that would be my one complaint.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Discuss to conduct in-depth remote interviews conveniently without traveling. The ability to chat with moderators and access the transcribed records almost instantly is super helpful.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

There are tools that simplify the work, but there are others that take it to the next level. Discuss is one of them, with a strong focus on analysis and illustration—something that makes all the difference when it comes to qualitative evaluations. We’re not looking for numbers, but for meaningful content, and that’s exactly what Discuss delivers in a well-organized way. On top of that, its intuitive interface and ease of use allow teams to focus on insights rather than logistics.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

Despite being a very powerful tool, its licensing model requires a robust package for different user profiles to truly benefit from the system. It could offer a lighter licensing option to allow smaller agencies or business groups with fewer resources to access the best possible insights.

It allows me to focus on results rather than operations, streamlining summaries and insights, and enabling me to allocate resources toward practical recommendations

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I appreciate the observer stream in Discuss that resolves issues you might face with regular video chat services, like participants seeing the observers. My favorite feature is being able to clip moments as an observer to highlight specific things participants say. The 'back-room' chat is also great for moderators and observers to chat together. It's great for allowing observers to get the most out of the research work, enabling the addition of notes, asking for specific prompts, and clipping relevant moments effectively.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I'm not sure how the moment-clipping looks on the back-end, so maybe if that could be any easier to parse, it would be helpful? Really just improving on the things they're already doing and making them smoother is good, but I don't think it's wise to add too many bells & whistles. I think Discuss has a good thing going right now and shouldn't over-complicate itself.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I find Discuss great for observing research sessions without participants seeing observers. Clipping moments is my favorite feature, allowing me to highlight specific participant insights. The back-room chat enhances communication with moderators, making it easier to represent the full product team.

I like the technical support that I can access any time when I face difficulty. I also find the multi chat rooms feature very useful, especially for discussions involving people from different languages. Setup was very easy.

As an observer of the User Research, I love how the video and audio are high quality. The app the user is asked to use is fast and I could tell it has little or no learning curve. I also loved how the internal chat feature worked so I could talk with the moderator and other observers seamlessly.

As an observer, I had no issues with the platform.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is enabling folks across the business -- in Product/Marketing/etc -- to be able to observe user research in action, from our desk. No need to travel to a site or a room, this is excellent in how it saves time. I also love how I could hear exactly how the people sounded. The results of the research wont' just be quotes or charts ... it'll be the faces and voices I heard on these calls.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I use Discuss to offer online consumer conversations and connections for my colleagues, allowing them to talk directly to people across markets to understand their everyday lives. It helps us to understand people in different countries and cultures that we cannot get to experience in person. I like the great account service in the planning and during the interviews themselves, as well as the quick turnaround and good value. I appreciate having access to all interview videos and transcripts and the AI tool for summaries, which surfaces relevant content to answer specific questions. I particularly enjoy the in-the-moment experience of talking to people online and how the AI tools allow me to analyse all the conversations to look for recurring themes. The initial setup was easy.

  ### 7. Fantastic for market research data collection (but not as good as CoLoop for analysis). Needs transcript parsing improvements.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I really like the backroom feature. It's a big deal for us because it allows my clients to join and prompt follow-up questions during interviews without being on camera, maintaining a professional distance. My clients really appreciate that they can join, watch live, and see all the interviews in one place in the back end. I also like how I can upload the interview guide and check it off as I go, because when you check it off, it pastes the interview guide question into the transcript, which is really useful for locating specific questions asked. Another thing I find valuable is that you can download a parsed transcript CSV file from Discuss, where interviews are organized by interview guide question, even if the process can be a bit manual and fussy. I appreciate that you can watch the video recordings at different speeds, like 2x or slowed down, and it live syncs with the transcript as you watch.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

Editing the transcripts sometimes is weird and jumps around a bit. It's almost like the page reloads when you finish an edit, and it goes off the live sync autoscroll feature, which is annoying. I have to keep toggling it back on. The transcripts that are captured get chopped up between the different speakers. If our answers overlap by a couple of words, it gets cut up into the transcript with one word at a time from each speaker, which is really annoying when trying to get clean transcripts.

Discuss solves the problem of conducting interviews with clients joining from a backroom, allowing them to watch and prompt questions live without being on camera. It supports scheduling, recording, and provides an organized interview-guided transcript with synced video playback.

The process of confiriming meetings/accepting them was smooth and very intuitive. It wasn't anywhere tough for new comers on the site for freshers such as me when I got interviewed there.

Post interview-updates, like status of progress including even if someone qualifed or not

It is solving the puspose of connecting with users to have the input of the survey taken in easy and convenient manner. With their user friendly interface it is really easy for anybody to navigate through and use the product.

The platform itself is very intuitive and easy to use. 

The project tech support team is consistently responsive and helpful, ensuring everything on the back end runs smoothly.  They make sure respondents have strong connections and help them to connect if they don't.

Their AI generated transcripts are also high quality, helps to make analysis easier and more efficient.

Respondents can complete homework or prework on the platform which allows responses via text, photo and video.  All is stored in one convenient place.  

When there is an issue customer service addresses it promptly.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I have had some resolution issues showing stim, but have resolved by using share screen instead of uploading files to the platform.  This could be improved.

The user interface is exceptionally easy to use and flexible for all qualitative purposes--from IDIs to full online focus groups.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The scheduling system poses logistical issues for some projects. For instance, in cases where clients are recruiting/scheduling using Calendly, we can't generate participant links in advance for them to send right away; instead, we have to schedule then update the session invite.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Discuss is my preferred platform for qualitative research for two practical reasons: 1) it has the best--easiest, most convenient--client backroom and 2) the quality of the transcripts is considerably better than those generated by Zoom or Teams. The former aspect of the platform solves a key logistical problem while the latter solves a backend/analytical issue.

I found that setting up Discuss was incredibly easy and user-friendly, allowing me to get started in just a few minutes. Its intuitive interface made it effortless to navigate. The platform was exceptionally beneficial for my project as it facilitated easy navigation through interview questions displayed on the screen, which was extremely useful during discussions. I appreciate Discuss's resemblance to Teams meetings but with additional features, such as the ability for me, as a moderator, to independently leave or end sessions for all participants—a feature that greatly aids in managing discussions. Additionally, I value the platform's interactivity, which I find crucial during challenging business calls, as it enables me to discreetly manage aspects of the conversation. Furthermore, I would love for Discuss to be integrated into my daily routine, as its features would be highly beneficial on a regular basis.

I really like using Discuss for several reasons. First, it's an incredibly easy way to connect with consumers and gather insights, especially valuable for exploring the experiences of pet parents. This connection is essential for understanding the consumer journey and thinking about future innovations. I also find Discuss to be super efficient and it significantly reduces the workload that typically follows an interview, freeing up my time for other tasks. The ability to view previous interviews in an easy format is invaluable. I appreciate that Discuss provides transcripts and AI-generated summaries which help in capturing key moments effectively. Furthermore, I love how it automatically displays questions on the side of the screen, ensuring that all the right questions are asked throughout the interview process. This functionality makes the user experience smoother and helps in maintaining focus during discussions.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

I found it confusing when setting up my account because initially, I only had view access to past interviews conducted by my business but couldn't locate my upcoming interview. It wasn't until I clicked a diary invite in my Outlook calendar that I found where my interview link was. Additionally, during calls, it was very confusing to distinguish between participants as there were no labels indicating whether someone was an interviewer, moderator, or pet parent. This led to misunderstandings about who was who during the session.

I use Discuss to connect with real pet parents, gaining insights into their experiences, which benefits my work on consumer experience and future innovations. It's efficient, minimizes post-interview workload, and provides useful transcripts and AI summaries.

I find Discuss to be incredibly valuable for conducting interview sessions with pet parents for my organization. The platform provides a wonderful experience with its remarkably smooth interface. Setting up Discuss was a breeze, with the team efficiently handling scheduling through calendar invites, ensuring seamless account creation and easy navigation. **What do you like best about Discuss?**

The Discuss platform has become the go-to platform for all of my clients, and for good reason. The platform's features are designed for research from the ground up and make conducting qualitative research feasible on a global scale. 

Discuss' feature set enables all manner of virtual qualitative exercises, including concept evaluation, launching polls, screen sharing, participant mark-up, and many more. On top of all this, the platform is incredibly solid and runs well on a wide variety of devices and with varying strengths of bandwidth.

Beyond this is the rapidly evolving Genie AI platform, which enables a wide range of ways of leveraging their AI engine to directly address key research questions, query any segment of participant for granular insights. And it can do so at scale for any global market via auto transcription of interviews conducted in a wide range of languages into English.

My experiences of using Discuss for participant recruitment have also been excellent, and the quality of their participants are consistently strong and on-target.

The thing that really separates Discuss, however, is the platform's excellent real-time session support. They ensure each participant's connection, audio, and video are solid prior to each session, and play an important role in ensuring every session runs smoothly. 

Since beginning to use Discuss in 2019, I've gotten to the point that can't imagine doing my work without it. It enables me to work efficiently and in markets I couldn't have imagined even a couple of years ago.

In my opinion, Discuss is the gold standard for online qualitative research.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

While Discuss excels in nearly every aspect, one enhancement that could elevate the experience even further is the integration of background noise cancellation for both moderators and participants. 

This feature would significantly improve audio clarity during group sessions, especially when participants are in noisy environments. It would also reduce the need for frequent muting, allowing for more natural and uninterrupted conversations.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Discuss is disrupting in-person qualitative research for approximately 85% of research challenges. Not only does it save clients' money versus pursuing in-person research, but the convenience of the platform makes it easier for consumers to participate (which improves participation rates and reduces recruiting and incentive costs).

Discuss is an excellent platform for research, both focus groups and one-on-one interviews. The ease of project set-up, onboarding respondents and live support during groups are particularly useful.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

There are two areas which would be useful to improve. Firstly, schedule set up: you should be able to schedule interviews in the local time zone, the calendar should start on a Monday rather than a Sunday, and a 24-hour clock would be more helpful than the AM/PM system. Secondly, during the session you should be able to toggle a chat notification sound, as currently it is easy to miss a message.

Discuss is essential to the work we do. We could not conduct our qualitative research function without it.

The business problem that discuss is helping me to resolve is having a quality conversation with no breaks in the audio video. That's a very important aspect when doing a group discussion is being able to hear and see everyone without them cutting in and out and I found that this platform creates an excellent window to be able to have that group discussion with no interruptions. When having group discussions part of being able to have a positive group discussion is being able to hear and see everybody, even somebody nodding their head without having to say anything let you know that they agree with what you're saying which is why the audio and video part is so important.

The ease of use for respondents and clients. It really makes the setup of sessions so easy, I dont have to wrry about observers and respondents interacting. I dont need to worry about client data being compromised and respondents feeling intimidated by seeing a lot of observers on the call. I love the translation functionality, the support team has been exceptional and has made running a project so easy! It is easy to setup, implement, update and run the sessions.

There's no specific thing. The system really works well for my needs.

It's solving the ease of setting up sessions, setting up translations for online sessions without multiple invites, protecting client info and respondents from client/observer influence. Discuss has a great user interface, a library of resources, and active support. It allows a lot of manual input while also offering automation and support when needed. It brings together the moderator, project manager, recruiters, and viewers in a very cohesive way. It integrates with Google and Outlook calendars, which helps a ton.

There's nothing I don't like. I have had some miscommunication during project setup. I'm not always sure which settings to toggle on and off and what it will mean for the project overall. I'm learning with experience. You have to think really thoughtfully about what access each team member will need, and it's been somewhat of a juggling act to nail down who does what (who will send respondent invites, etc.), but we're getting it, and the support is great.

Easy collaboration between us, our clients/observers, and our recruiters. I absolutely love how easy it is to find the right links for everyone, access recordings, and see the upcoming schedule.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

Biggest upside was the ease of use. There were no mandates on setting up an account and going through any lengthy authentication process. I could simply click on a meeting link provided by my agency, enter my email and join as an observer. I also liked the user interface and the fact that it had some features such as backroom chat to provide feedback to the facilitators. The tools used by facilitators to record major takeaways were well integrated, and quite intuitive.

Minor point, but the video resolution could be further improved. Also, could include an option of seeing live subtitles.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Listening in to conversations live and sharing feedback with interview facilitators without being evident to participants.

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

Discuss.IO has been a game-changer for gathering quick, meaningful consumer insights. The platform makes it incredibly easy to connect with real people in real-time, which has been invaluable for testing consumer perceptions of our industry and our brand. We get to talk to our customer in a 1:1 forum, while others can observe, and Discuss will handle the incentives. I like that Discuss let's us focus on the research and they handle the managerial bits. 

What really stands out is the real-time collaboration—teams can join live sessions, observe, and adjust strategy on the fly. Compared to traditional focus groups, Discuss.IO is not only faster but also more cost-effective. If you're looking for an agile, efficient way to bring the voice of your customer into your advertising decisions, this platform is worth considering.

The global reach is a huge plus, allowing us to validate ideas across different markets effortlessly.

The AI-powered analysis also helps synthesize key takeaways quickly, saving time on research synthesis. Genie AI is also an amazing feature. Genie is a bit of a collaborator and works with me on every phase of the project, but especially through the analysis phase. The AI is essential from the start of the project when setting up the guide and the tags, to the last phases of the project when analyzing interviews for insights.

Customer support is always a plus. I'm always pleased to talk with the Discuss team and trust they the best interest of the product and our brand in mind.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

Some of the downsides are how slow the edits can go. You can run an interview and cut a video in the same platform, which is a major upside. The downside can be the quality of the edit because we're not using an intelligent software like Adobe. It does what it can though! I would say that is the only room for improvement.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They're helping us learn more about our complex consumer. The brand I work on is B2B so it's vital to recruit reputable respondents to gain insight into our complicated world of ad tech. It benefits us because we take these learnings and apply them to our marketing.

1.  Need to add a program so a reminder email goes out to the clients and respondent(s)  1-2 hours before their scheduled appointment
2.  Need to be able to bulk import viewers (with their viewing status) - maybe an Excel sheet - waste of time typing manually when there are 10-20 members to upload
3. Adding members as viewers to a scheduled group or IDI - add the option to check all box  or besides manually checking names (per group or IDI)
4.  Edit invitations so more visually appealing and tailored to specific groups of observers (team members vs. clients vs. support people outside of research company)
5.  Customer Support:  Live help button  (not an AI auto bot that doesn't react specifically to a question - send article links isn't always the answer as  the links need to be scrolled through and may not answer the question)
6. Not sure there is a quick & easy access to pull respondents from a group or IDI as a pay & send or if they don't qualify after introduction

The tech support for our focus groups are extremely professional and proactive. They address any needs we have quickly and thoroughly and I couldn't ask for more from any of them. The platform is stable, clear, and highly effective, especially when coupled with a good recruit. Setting up focus groups is easy to do, particularly for frequent users or organizations that conduct lots of focus groups.

I would highly recommend using Discuss.io to anyone interested in conducting any kind of qualitative research. Of all the platforms my firm has used, they are by far the best. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The transcription process leaves a lot to be desired. The AI software in general is not especially useful and can probably be dispensed with. The machine transcripts always need to be supplemented with human transcripts.

Connecting with voters and discussing political issues. It gives us insights into the kinds of issues that do not easily appear on public opinion surveys.

If I remember correctly, I believe the rep's name was Kevin, but he was so pleasant to troubleshoot with. Usually you deal with a bot with such things so again chatting with a human made it way easier and less frustrating. We were able to solve the problem in  no time which was another plus. 5/5 completely satisfied with the service.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The only negative was when booking a respondent, I put the wrong date and immediately changed it after noticing it. Discuss.io notified me that we might incur a fee because the first day and time I put it was within 24 hrs of booking it, so because the change was "short notice," we run the chance of getting charged.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being after to bookmark important moments is huge and a time saver. 
The ability to send out tech checks, invites, and reminders and have dates and times saved has made the process seamless.
We are doing in language interviews and having the live translator at the same time has been a huge game changer for us as we used to send out the videos to get translated to english.

The virtual backroom is a game changer.  Makes it almost the same as a in person focus group for the attendees.  Transcripts are solid and the AI Genie feature produces good summaries.  Easy to moderate and control the respondents and the backroom.

Occasionally people have issues figuring out how to log in.  Majority have no issue but since its not a common platform it take some people a second to figure it out.

It allows us to do virtual focus groups and IDIs.  It has a true backroom so business teams can engage without overwhelming the respondents.

I have used Discuss and am extremely imperessed both with the company's technology as well as their customer experience. The technical support staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring each session goes off without a hitch. The technology works extremely well, and the back end analysis and insight tools save me many hours for every project. Can't recommend Discuss.io highly enough!

My only wish is for a noise cancellation algorithm to be added to the audio to help reduce ambient noise coming into the interview and recording. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with the platform

It's easy to use the site, and the support people are a click away in case something goes awry. I've seen them successfully connect elderly and less-technical folks alike. The back-room chat feature is helpful for sharing info with the moderator. It's easy to use even for those who aren't terribly familiar with it.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

This isn't a ding on Discuss.io, but about online platforms in general; one's beholden to the quality of the respondent's connection. If he/she has less robust internet, then video might not be possible, but the audio portion will likely still work. There have been a few instances when the respondent just can't resolve his/her technical issues on the day of the interview, and we've had to reschedule/replace the respondent.

Discuss provides voice of the customer feedback that helps us get to know our end users more effectively. And it enables all of us to listen in remotely (vs. having to travel to a central location). The audio files available after the fact are helpful for those with conflicts during the interview time.

Discuss.io is far and away the best video research platform available. I have tried many other platforms and discuss.io the best. The tech build is just smart and it is genuinely designed with research teams in mind. 

It has everything you could need in a platform and more. the interfaces for clients, recuriters, moderators and participants are all seamless and easy to use. The support teams are always helpful and prompt. 

I use it for every project, and refuse to go back.

I'm not totally sold on the AI features yet. I'm excited to see how they continue to improve.

I'd like an easier way to send recordings to clients without giving them full accounts.

One of the things I love most about Discuss is the customer service. They are quick to respond and helpful. I know that I can count on them, and that gives me so much reassurance when running projects. Most of the time, I have clients on the back end, and it is so important that things run smoothly. I also love the training resources and the newly developed Discuss University.

Occasionally, I get a tech for my session who does not go above and beyond. I will leave it at that. Right now, the discussion guide questions do not provide everything I am looking for, but I know they are working on this. Discuss is constantly making its product better by listening to clients. **What do you like best about Discuss?**

It is very user friendly and has many great features for setting up IDI's and Focus Groups.  The video recordings and transcripts are ready very shortly after the interview is complete which makes it great for when clients cannot observe live so they are able to view the recordings right away.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

For outlook invites it does not have an option to set a reminder so interviews could be missed.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having transcripts ready shortly after interviews are completed

**What do you like best about Discuss?**

I really like the Tech Support folks. They are superior to those on other platforms. I also like how easy it is to get up and started, as the user interface is very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Discuss?**

The quality of the automatic transcripts is not as good as some other software that I use. The platform also does not support large, integrated audiovisual files. Discuss says it can handle these, but I'm here to confirm it cannot yet. With many agencies moving to more rich-media stimulus formats, this is something Discuss will want to address soon.

**What problems is Discuss solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Other platforms either don't have a client back room, have poorer tech support, or are unreliable in terms of project management. Discuss addresses these issues.
