"Powerful, flexible CMS with excellent extensibility and automation tools"
5/5
What do you like best about Directus?

Directus is incredibly flexible and integrates perfectly into our tech stack. One standout feature is how easy it is to build and deploy custom extensions (especially with VueJS and TypeScript) which allows us to tailor the UI and functionality to specific workflows and use cases.

Flows are another highlight. We’ve automated many backend processes without needing additional services or infrastructure. From simple field updates to complex branching logic, the visual Flow builder is intuitive and powerful, saving us countless hours of development and maintenance time.

Using the cloud version means we don’t worry about infrastructure, while still retaining full control over data structures, roles, and permissions. The API-first approach makes frontend integration seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Directus?

One pain point is syncing changes between environments. Schema and Flow migration from staging to production still requires a lot of manual effort.

Additionally, while Flows are powerful, debugging can be tricky due to limited visibility into execution logs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A terrific product with endless use cases"
5/5
What do you like best about Directus?

The data studio is easy to use and works really well on mobile which is an underrated feature.

Directus offers great digital asset management features, data model and backend-as-a-service features, and CMS features. It's very flexible, so businesses can tailor to the use cases they have.

At Destify, we're looking to first use Digital Asset Management capabilities to deliver world-class image optimization for our galleries and carousel images.

We also hope to use it for hotel and room metadata, eliminating a home-spun admin system to do the same. It will provide easy REST and GraphQL access to pull the fields we want.

The RBAC scoping is top-notch and that's a difficult thing to do!

I can't say enough good things about this product, explore it for any use cases you have for low-code, BaaS, CMS, or DAM usage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Directus?

Consider the cloud offering ramping up in price when you scale to meet that growth. A generous free tier of users and/or request quota would be better than a row limit. It's difficult for Team Leads to know just how big Directus will get because it has so many use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Directus is a fantastic headless CMS"
5/5
What do you like best about Directus?

Directus accomplishes all of our content management needs. Has all the features you would expect out of a CMS with an easy-to-use user interface. There is plenty of documentation for Directus which made setup and configuration easy. Directus has a lot out of the box components to use to build your data model. If there isn't something available for you, you can create your own through extensions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Directus?

I have yet to come across any major dislikes with Directus.

The process for data migration between multiple instances of Directus could be improved, specifically if you want to migrate a data model from a development instance to production.

Directus has a really powerful API but building out the specific URL to get only the data you need can be time consuming, especially with nested relationships. Directus could benefit from a tool to build out those complex URLs through the UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great headless CMS with great support too...!!!"
5/5
What do you like best about Directus?

As a newcomer to headless CMS, I am totally impressed with the capabilities this presents to our business in so many ways, for mobile app development, plugin development and many others. It has so far been a total joy to use and when things have gone a little off course the support has been second to none. I would highly recommend this to anyone considering the same. Having worked in backend development for many years, while I would agree at the bare metal you can get into a lot of granularity of control, I would say that all in all I fail to see how for most projects Directus won't tick most if not all boxes and more...! What do you dislike about Directus?

So far I have come across nothing.....!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Directus: A Scalable, Flexible, and Reliable CMS/BaaS for Projects of Any Size"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Directus?

I have found Directus to be an outstanding platform that is scalable, flexible, and reliable. I first used it successfully for a startup multi-tenant SaaS product, and therefore had no hesitation in recommending its implementation at ColX Group, leveraging it as the primary CMS that powers our 4 brands websites. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Directus?

Directus is generally easy to use, though the JSON output can be a little difficult to work with at times, especially for complex relationships. Once understood and configured properly, however, it remains a very reliable and flexible solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Beauty, simplicity and power - I love Directus!"
5/5
What do you like best about Directus?

In the end it is a minimalistic, but beautiful and very powerful UI for a database. The initial implementation/setup is quick and the customer support of Directus kick-starts you with a pretty decent base, based on your project requirements. But with features that can easily make it a fully-fledged CMS, as well. And much more when utilizing the many comunity-driven extensions available in the marketplace. With the "flows" feature it's very easy to add powerful automation and the development team behind Directus has the right mindset of abstraction for new features that gives you the maximum power to achieve even complex goals using the UI. As there is a wide range of SDKs and examples / starter kits available, integration in your application is easy, as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Directus?

If there was a free plan, or at least a very low cost plan that doesn't cost me more than USD 100 a year, Directus would be my preferred BaaS solution for my private projects, as well. I would wish for some features Directus lacks compared to other headless CMS providers, like shared data models across instances, branching and some other, but the Directus team also comes up with new features quickly and I have trust that Directus will become more and more powerful while maintaining high flexibility in the near future. "Powerful, but easy to use"

What do you like best about Directus?

I like that Directus sits directly on top of Postgres. It's very powerful and keeps on adding more value with each release. At the same time, it's still easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish the UI could be a bit mor flexible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"More then just a CMS"
5/5
What do you like best about Directus?

( This is GPT *corrected*, but an honest review! )

Directus is a total lifesaver if you're juggling database stuff. It's like having a magic wand for creating tables super fast. But wait, there's more! It also takes care of the boring bits like making forms, cool UIs, and even validations.

What's really cool? Custom views for each user. Yup, it personalizes things so everyone gets what they need. And for the tech-savvy, there's a killer API, GraphQL, and even real-time updates with sockets!

In short, Directus is not just another tool; it's your go-to for making database management a breeze and a lot more fun. 🚀👍 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Directus?

Honestly, I'm not sure! There is nothing that I dislike, maybe I would like to have a better UI for flows? but that's about it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
