We use Samba Live because it is a browser-based video conferencing tool with breakout rooms that doesn't require client-side installs. Many corporate clients don't allow client side installs and Samba Live fills that need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Today's session with 18 people from 4 countries was particularly challenging. People had connection issues suddenly in the middle of the session. And twice our 4 breakout rooms ended without any warning.

It's easy to set up and use. Participants don't need to install and software, works directly from the browser. Samba Live has all features needed to organize and host an online workshop. Digital Samba had many tools helpful for teachers when using the platform. The students enjoyed writing on the whiteboard. They also enjoyed watching videos and working collaboratively. The system was difficult to control if you had students in breakout rooms. No matter the support and encouragement of break out room rules, we would still have students in the breakout rooms writing on the board and talking on camera instead of completing the task at hand. I also did not like how powerpoint presentations are downloaded into the system. The formatting is frequently messed up. I rather just upload a pdf. Then that negates the point of putting useful links in the presentations. Which is another thing, the link sharing is very inconvenient. I want to be able to simply put all required links in a powerpoint for the class and click through the slides smoothly. I can't because the links kick the kids out of the platform when they click on the links. I have to put it on the board manually, which is time consuming or in chat, which gets lost easily. There needs to be a much better system for keeping original formatting and link usage. As an elementary teacher the features and systems are not geared towards our elementary learners. I liked the 'advanced features' tool while creating the meetings. It gives the host a lot of control over the flow and organization of the event.

This platform is a great resource to utilize for online learning. There are many features that work well in an educational setting. Educators are able to upload any materials, change settings and formatting, turn on and off both their permissions and students with ease, move students into breakout rooms, and write on the board. While the pencil draw tool is sometimes not as smooth in the writing for a math teacher, it does serve as a nice feature. Students often get kicked out of the classroom. In order to keep track of who is coming and going, I have to enable the lobby and it can become challenging to continue allowing students in. Screen sharing often causes students to get kicked out of the platform. It can sometimes be time consuming to turn on and off tool board permissions for students to write on the board. When a student is kicked out of class, it puts them back into the main room and the teacher must move them manually into the breakout room. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Support team responds really quickly and are knowledgeable. One of my favourite features is that they are completely HTML5 allowing for easy integration via iFrames into other websites without losing features etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
