"Auto-Publish Saves Time on Recurring Invoices"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Dext?

The auto publish feature is great to set up for invoices which are consistent each month and saves time Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

I think sometimes it isn't particularly clear how to fix and error when an item won't publish into my accounting software Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Hi Noel,

Thank you for your feedback. It's great to hear that Auto-Publish is saving you time when processing recurring invoices. We also appreciate your comments about the error notifications, and I've shared this feedback with our team internally for consideration.

As you're already using Auto-Publish, it may also be worth exploring Supplier Rules if you haven't already. These can automatically apply default coding, such as expense category, account, tax rate, and payment method, so recurring items are completed consistently before publishing, helping to reduce manual edits and minimise publishing errors.

Thanks again for your review.

"Effortless Receipt Uploads and Responsive Dext Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Dext?

it is extremely accessible to clients who are busy businesspeople who dont have much time on their hands, they simply snap a photo and upload their receipts! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

Nothing! I have had issues before with integration and the team at Dext have been able to resolve my problem efficiently! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Alex T, thanks for the 5-star review. Really glad to hear Dext is helping to automate your bookkeeping and that our support team was able to resolve your integration issue quickly. It's great that Dext is helping you catch and correct VAT treatment across your receipts. That kind of visibility is exactly what we aim to provide, keeping you in control and confident that coding is consistent going forward.Since your clients are already snapping and uploading receipts, it's worth introducing them to the Dext mobile app or the WhatsApp upload feature if you haven't already. Clients who prefer messaging over apps find it even easier to submit documents on the go, which can improve submission rates and keep your workflow moving without any chasing.

Thanks again for your review!

"User-Friendly, But Expensive for Small Teams"
5/5
What do you like best about Dext?

I like that Dext is very easy to use. It's a huge plus that my clients can easily upload invoices using the Dext app, even on my phone while on the go. It's very simple, and that's something I really appreciate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

I think the fact that if it's an invoice in PDF, the client needs to send an email instead of just forwarding it within the app. It'd be easier since some clients forget the email they need to send it to. Also, Dext is a bit pricey. It's one of the most expensive software on the market, which makes some people hesitate to sign up because of the price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Tatiane, really appreciate the review; it is fantastic to hear that the mobile app's ease of use is helping your clients capture invoices while on the move. Regarding your feedback on PDF uploads, this is actually supported within the mobile app; next to the camera icon, there is a file attachment option so they can avoid the email step entirely. You might also suggest the WhatsApp submission method if that fits their workflow better. On the pricing front, the return on investment usually comes through the reliability of the data, as high-quality extraction saves significant time at scale by reducing manual checks. Since you are focused on efficiency, it is worth exploring AI Assist as well; it learns from your historic coding patterns to suggest further automations for your recurring bookkeeping tasks while you stay in control. Thanks for sharing your insights

"Streamlines Document Processes with High Accuracy"
5/5
What do you like best about Dext?

I appreciate how Dext automates the extraction of documents for our team, giving our clients more real-time insights. We use it for approval workflows and even for the back-end review of our data. I find the accuracy of the data extraction to be extremely high, much higher than if we had people doing it manually. I also value the ability to search and find invoices, storing them far more neatly than anyone ever could manually. The initial setup of Dext was very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

I'd like to see better integration between the Dext products, particularly between Dext Precision and Dext Prepare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Alex, really appreciate the review; it is fantastic to hear that the high extraction accuracy and approval workflows are proving so valuable for your team's data review processes. Regarding your feedback on product connectivity, Dext has recently addressed this gap by merging Prepare and Precision into a single, unified experience. This means bookkeeping automation and health insights are now accessible in one place without the need to switch between platforms. If your practice hasn't transitioned yet, it is worth reaching out to your account manager to get set up on this new interface, as future feature releases will be prioritised there. Finally, to further enhance your efficiency, it is worth exploring AI Assist, as it learns from your historic coding patterns to suggest automations for repetitive tasks while you maintain total control. "Excellent Bank Statement Extraction and Reliable Data Capture"
4/5
What do you like best about Dext?

The data extraction is pretty good, and the bank statement extraction is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

I hate how you default to the date a document was uploaded if you can't read the date. I'd prefer you leave it blank for me to review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Thank you, Lysielle! We’re delighted Dext has become indispensable to your accounting workflow and makes receipt submission simple for your clients. It’s also great to hear that you’re enjoying Dext’s certification exercises. Since you value automation, Dext AI Assist may be worth exploring - it learns from your bookkeeping decisions and can suggest or automate categories, tax treatments, descriptions and other field updates. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!”

"Amazing Data Capture and Error Checking That Saves Hours"
4/5
What do you like best about Dext?

Amazing for it's data capture capabilities which saves hours in manual labour. It's also brilliant at sense checking and error checking data that already exists which really helps me with ensuring data is real time and accurate Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

It is my most expensive software I use however, for the clients that utilise it, I bill it on Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Sam, really appreciate the review; it is fantastic to hear that the data capture and sense-checking capabilities are saving significant manual hours across your practice. Regarding the software cost, the billing model you have described is exactly how many firms justify value to their clients. To further refine your operations, it is worth checking practice settings to monitor time spent, which can assist in adjusting client pricing and unlocking efficiencies. Thanks for sharing your insights.

"Very Quick Response Times and Always Helpful Support"
5/5
What do you like best about Dext?

Very quick response time and they always help me find a solution to my problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

Billing has changed - we can't update our bill by user anymore. We have to wait until the contract renews so we are paying for stuff we don't need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Lindsey, we’re glad our Support team has been quick to help. We understand the frustration of paying for users you no longer need. You can schedule a user reduction under Business settings → Subscription → Change plan, but it will take effect after your next renewal. Since you use QBO, Auto-Publish Rules may also help streamline your bookkeeping by reducing manual document publishing. Thanks for your review, Lindsey.

"Super Easy to Use and Eliminates Slow Admin Work"
5/5
What do you like best about Dext?

Super easy to use, and it takes all the slow admin work out of the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

I still haven’t been able to find anything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Thank you so much for the kind words, James! We're glad Dext is taking the slow admin work out of processing your purchase invoices and giving you time back to focus on checking rather than manual entry.

If you haven't tried it yet, check out Dext AI Assist. It learns how you manage your books and suggests ways to automate repetitive tasks, worth a look if you want to save even more time on invoice processing.

"Streamlines Bookkeeping with a Paperless Touch"
5/5
What do you like best about Dext?

I like Dext because it's paperless, helping me avoid filing, and it speeds up my bookkeeping processes. The paperless effect really stands out to me. It also allows me to work remotely successfully, which means I can work fewer hours. The setup was very easy, and it does more than the previous product, Autoentry, which is why we switched. Overall, I find these features make Dext very valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

I think the package I use is too big for some clients, so it's not always the best value. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Kerry, it's great to hear that Dext is reducing your filing workload and allowing you to work remotely while logging fewer hours.

Regarding plan fit, it may be worth speaking with your account manager to see whether a lighter-tier plan or some add-ons would be a better fit for your smaller clients.

If you haven't set up supplier rules for those clients yet, even a handful of well-configured rules can do a lot of the heavy lifting, making the cost feel much more proportionate to the time saved.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your review!

"User-Friendly Dext That Takes the Stress Out of Bookkeeping"
5/5
What do you like best about Dext?

I love the fact that Dext is so user friendly and takes a lot of the workload and stress of bookkeeping off my team but also from the clients as well Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dext?

There's nothing in particular that I don't like. But it would be great if Dext was able to do the full accounting process instead of linking to Xero or QuickBooks etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Miguel Mendez of Dext

Natalie, glad it's making life easier on both sides of the relationship. The rules and behaviour learning piece is genuinely where Dext compounds over time as the more it sees from each client, the less your team has to touch. On the accounting software point, the integration is intentional rather than a gap as Dext is built to be the capture and intelligence layer while QBO or Xero handles the ledger, but it's useful feedback on where the boundaries feel frustrating. If you haven't explored the Dextension for Xero or QBO yet, it lets your team view Dext coding history and document details without ever leaving their accounting software, which closes a lot of that back-and-forth.
